    Project Mirai DX is one game I see very overshadowed in the 3DS library. It's a great rhythm game that makes great use of the 3DS's touch screen.

      Thank you for mentioning that game! For some reason, it seems like it's rarely ever mentioned among 3ds owners. People don't know what they're missing out on; it is so addicting. It's great for those times when you only have like 10 minutes or less of gaming time, so you can just play a song or two.

    I know it as a big first party release and sold fairly well, but I feel like Kid Icarus: Uprising gets overshadowed A LOT when people talk about 3DS games. As it completely has a spot as one of the best games I've ever played.

      Seriously. I never hear people talking about it. I honestly really enjoyed that game.

      Once you get used to the controls it is easily one of the best games on the 3DS. The flying sections are incredible!

    All games you mentioned are great. I'm just gonna add some.
    E-Shop:
    vvvvvv, Mutant Mudds, Liberation Maiden, Moon Chronicles, Grinsia, Siesta Fiesta
    Retail Games (in NA):
    Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
    Scibblenauts Unlimited
    Professor Layton: Miracle Mask (and other entries from the series)
    Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward
    Rune Factory 4

      ***** I think those games are fine as long as people don't call them apart of Harvest Moon. As far as they know, Harvest Moon ended after Harvest Moon: DS. Seeing as how that was the last to feature the original crew of characters. Everything else, well still good in gameplay, are merely spin-off titles in terms of story; starting with Island of Happiness.

    Gunman Clive: Mega Man in the West. Solid game for $1.99 on the eShop, all developed by one guy. Plus, there's a duck mode.

    Well, Epic Mickey and Ghost Warriors have gotten my attention now :D

  • @Rogerioapsandrade
    @Rogerioapsandrade 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Epic Mickey for the Nintendo 3ds is actually an enjoyable game. The only thing that prevent me (and some people) to put it among the best 3ds games is just that it´s too short! It should have more levels.... the game sort of forces you to play every level multiple times in order to upgrade all characters rooms, what gets a little annoying and frustrating.... but even so it´s worth a try, it´s gorgeous, it´s imaginative and it´s fun to play. As for the other games in the video, I completely agree. They´re all great games.

  • @Dragonk116
    @Dragonk116 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ya, I heard Attack of the Friday Monsters: A Tokyo Tale was pretty dam popular, its in the E shop for one of the best games with a story. I also did like Epic Mickey Power of Illusion demo, so I might pick it up latter on.

    Great showcase of some hidden gems, Pete. Most of which I've never played! GR: Shadow Wars was quite the surprising game. I too very much enjoyed it, but I did feel it overstayed its welcome. I put in 15-20 hours and had my fair share of the game...only to find out it takes 35+hrs to beat. Still fun nonetheless!
    Yeah, I definitely need to check out Epic Mickey Power of Illusion! Attack of the Friday Night Monsters as well.

    Awesome video Pete. Lol I take it that you are now using FCPX to edit your videos. They have some really sweet animations but it turned out very stiff and unintuitive to me so I switched to Premiere Pro.
    Would you be able to give us an updated 3DS collection video Pete? I would really love to see that. Thanks again for the video. It was great.

    I wouldn't expect you to know about these, given that these only get released in Europe and Japan, but Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks! and Inazuma Eleven GO Chrono Stones: Thunderflash are two of my favourite games ever, and are true underappreciated 3DS gems.

    • @TaleOfTheToaster

    Ironically Ghost Recon is one of the few 3DS games I have played, I have a stack I bought and most of them are still sealed, just never get around to them. Took over 50 hours to beat everything in it on normal mode, pretty good considering how cheap it was.
    It was one of your early 3DS videos that made me choose to play that one out of all the others.

    • @koopercubes2916
      @koopercubes2916 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      3 things, 1, My comment was posted a month ago, and back then it was a pretty new game. 2, 100 people isn't a lot, especially with such a popular system like the 3DS. 3, why did you randomly bring up the 5-star rating of the game? That's nothing to do with how not many people have noticed it. It just shows that it's a good game, which I already said.

    SteamWorld Dig, available for 3DS on the eShop, is a very compelling game that is probably overlooked by many. It has that satisfying loop of exploring, getting loot, and earning upgrades that actually enable new functions. It controls very well also. I believe it was just ported to the Wii U, and also is available on the Vita.

    The 3DS Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy is actually quite impressive and I enjoyed it. Heroes of Ruin is not the best game on the 3DS but it is still about 30 hours of good fun, especially with a friend. Nano Assault was originally a retail game but an improved "EX" version is on the eshop for $15 now and it is beautiful and a great twin stick shooter, with Star Fox like on rail portions and creative bosses. Also, Tetris Axis, while the full retail release price was a bit much it is now on the eshop for about $10 or $15 which I think is a bargain for this much Tetris.

    Phoenix Wright: Duel Destinies and Shinobi. Two very different, yet great games. If you like story driven games with great plot and soundtrack, along with witty dialogue and charming characters, Phoenix Wright is your game. If you prefer a more action packed game where you play as a flipping ninja with insanely hard difficulty on beginner's mode and dying multiple times on the same thing, and platforming, Shinobi is for you.

    Hey Pete, great shout re Attack of the Friday Monsters, it's a great game with gorgeous visuals! Another fantastic 3DS title - well, for me at least - is Terry Cavanagh's über-tricky gravity flipper, VVVVVV. Boy do I love that game :-)
    By the way, is there any chance you could do one of these 'Hidden Gems' vids for Playstation Vita too? It'd be awesome if you can. What with it's fabulous line-up of great indie titles, it'd be really cool to see what you recommend.

    Wow, this video is old. Regardless, there is a not very well known game I have to let people know about. It's called rune factory 4. It's eshop exclusive so not even many fans of the series know that it exists. For those new to the series. It is basically an RPG where you can live a normal life on the side. Sometimes you're out fighting monsters, sometimes you're hanging out with the villagers. There is a LOT to talk about with this game, but nothing I can say will do it justice. Please look it up for yourself. It is by far my favourite game on the 3DS and I am sure you will not be disappointed.

      crash979797 what's the meaning behind the title?

    • @CrashDunning
      @CrashDunning 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Leonard H It's a really bad joke referencing the battle mechanics. You get these things called brave points which lets one of your characters attack multiple times if you want, but at the cost that for every brave point spent, they can't do anything for that many number of turns. Defaulting is just defending.
      It's a pretty difficult battle system, but once you learn it, it's an amazing game.

    • @Mrmightyturtle
      @Mrmightyturtle 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I know this comment is 3 months old, but Bravely Default's gameplay is anything but difficult to learn. It's literally just classic Final Fantasy with its own little quirks and changes, including the Brave and Default system.

    Picked up Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion for $6 on a Black Friday and was completely let down. It really lacked challenge for me and felt more appropriate for a younger audience.
    I do plan on playing Attack of the Friday Monsters because of this vid.
    Two games I consider gems would be James Noir's Hollywood Crimes and Crush.

    That last one reminds me of the streepass game MiiForce. i think they used the basic idea to build the streetpass game since you use L and R to change the direction of your guns

    Great video! I don't have too much to say on it, I agree with your choices and you've introduced me to quite a few games in this video. (I'm particularly interested in that Studio Ghibli-esque game you mentioned!) Keep up the good work! I wouldn't mind seeing a part 2 of this if the interest is there. There are definitely a lot of great overlooked games for the 3DS.

    i think shinobi for the 3ds its underrated, i love that game, not for everyone thoutgh, i recomended for fans of the series who are up for the whole ninja experience and likes the challenge, just like its predecesors this game its hard, and unforgiving at times buck way to satisfiyng, excelent level design and killer soundtrack
