Kinda reminds me of the Bear Paw Cafe that's somewhere in Japan (Harajuku), where they hire people with social anxiety and have them serve to customers behind a wall and interact with them using bear paws. It's oddly wholesome. I only made that connection due to Toco being afraid of going out in public and using an animal persona.

As someone who kind of reads Japanese but is an English speaker, I really enjoyed the two languages for the videos. Why would that be attention seeking? Most translation apps and online features are very unreliable so it is nice to see both languages together.

hi! i am a furry with some knowledge of quadsuits. quadsuits are more complex fursuits where it looks like an animal on all fours. usually, the place where you can look out of is hidden somewhere in the suit's neck.

Seeing him trying to walk up the stairs genuinely made me scared and uncomfortable, and I'm the type of person to not be phased at gore or creepy imagery, but that was just like how I imagine a skin walker would go up stairs, I felt wrong after seeing it.

This dude + the company that made the costume are very talented, and I don't understand people hating on the dude for wearing a costume. To answer some common misconceptions: 1. He does not think he is a dog, at all, he even streams live and talks as a human. 2. Society won't collapse because of a dog costume, people who think it will are paranoid and should seek psychiatric care if they genuinely believe this. There is actually an entire community of people like this, they're called therians and they believe they have the soul or spirit of an animal instead of a human. Not all therians go as far as Toco but there is a huge community of these wholesome animal people on the internet. They are not z00s, they are not furries, I do have therian friends and they are amazing people.
Gonna be honest, this is kind of a bad video on your part. I usually love your content but it's really not "disturbing" or "unsettling" at all. It's just a guy in a quadroped suit that he got to make himself happy. This is a thing within the furry community you can find pretty commonly and its really cool to see :) Mascot costumes are also known to be very popular for almost anything in Japan. I think you only really say it's disturbing is because you aren't really used to seeing it. I can see why it’s a bit uncanny but overall this is really sweet, especially with how he mentions the message of how this was such an unrealistic dream for him as a child but still he managed to reach it, and supports others wanting to reach theirs. Hello, fursuiter here. This type of costume is known as a quadsuit, most suits have vision through the neck, and yes your legs are like you would be regularly on all fours but your arms have little stilts that prop you up so its at an an even level. They do get very sweaty but a lot of more expensive costumes like this have fans in the head and the people could also wear ice vests, there's a lot to it but it's worth it for that magic!
the dog costume theory (4:07) reminds me of how I used to walk on my knees all the time and it really hurt my knees & ankles, even if I padded them somewhat. (i used to trap my feet in a onesie or any other clothing item) Nowadays I just walk with my legs bent underneath me to match the height of my arms, if I wanna walk on all fours for whatever reason. (usually it's to scare my family members) I highly recommend walking on all fours. You might think it's weird, but that's just because it's fun. Just do it in a clean space or wear gloves, maybe don't do it on a walk in crowded places, people might get scared or take pictures without your permission.

Toco's based in Japan, but the notoriety spread overseas, it's very common for Japanese youtubers to have English captions, I don't see why you see it as attention seeking? It was either that or more misinformation due to youtubers and online personalities google translating the text.
hey! fursuiter/fursuit maker here. there's a few things you mentioned that i wanted to add on to 1. how the body fits in the suit: i think your gf was right about how the body fits in the suit. looking at the back legs you can see the lack of mobility compared to the front legs. they are extremely stiff. and you can see while they're climbing they really have to swing their back legs up each step due to the lack of joints 2. sight: most fursuits with a hyper-realistic style have small holes cut where the eyes look out from covered in a mesh, in this case they would most likely be on the upper snout, almost around where the "teary" part of a dog's face would be. the "animal" eyes in these suits kinda look like half a marble, and are often made from resin. seeing how dark the eyes are i seriously doubt it would be possible to see out of them, not to mention the fact that they're probably placed slightly higher then (human) toco's eyes. the odd thing is that i can't really see the mesh covered holes, which are normally somewhat noticeable due to the sudden change in material, however since the suit is from a company that makes suits for movies i wouldn't be shocked if they were just very well hidden. (EDIT: looking at the suit in full and watching how toco moves i'm guessing that the eye pockets are located in the dog's neck rather then the face. we can see when they try to pick up the ping pong ball with their [dog] mouth, they bend down in a way that would align their real eyes and mouth with the ball and struggled to pick it up due to the disconnect from having 2 "mouths". the jaw is most likely rigged from [human] toco's jaw, but because the dog mouth and toco's mouth are so far apart, even dramatic movements from the human mouth result in limited movement from the suit mount. this is common even in regular fursuits with jaw rigs unless more dynamic rig is implemented) 3. quadrobics: quadrobics is the athletic practice of walking/running/jumping on your hands and knees, similar to a dog or horse. it's extremely difficult and works out your whole body. it's also exhausting and makes you sweat really fast. being in a fursuit also makes you sweat, like a lot. so not only is toco doing quadrobics the entire time they're in the suit, not being able to stand because of the position of their legs, but they are also surrounded by layers of foam and fur. it's EXTREMELY easy to overheat in even a fursuit head, let alone an entire quadsuit. 4. toco (the human): looking at the suit and comparing it to some of the objects in the background toco seems to be relatively tall (esp for japan), around 5'9-5'11. based on how the suit moves and how they lay i'm assuming they got some chunk to them, otherwise the suit would have to be filled with a lot of dense foam, which would get very hot very fast. there's my in depth toco study! i might add to this if i notice anything else but im a bit toco'ed out (get it? like tuckered?). in all seriousness, i fw toco. they're obviously someone with a passion and as long as they are not hurting anybody or themselves i say let em bark

Again, adjacent to point three is how horny everyone in the fandom is as a result of the furry porn, most of everyone on furry Twitter can be saying really deranged stuff about anthro characters, with that, they likely can’t talk normally to the people that they’re sexually attracted to, Hypersexuality and Nymphomania can be really unhealthy and impact your relationships like this does to the relationships furries have with people 5. Furry gatherings, most well known furry gatherings result in disaster, for example, rainfurrest where furries vandalized, assaulted, committed sexual assault, and were arrested for drug possession, chlorine poisoning and murders happened at other gatherings as well, which I can infer that furries aren’t even safe in their own conventions 6. The Allies of the fandom, this has to be one of the most problematic parts or part adjacent to the fandom, these people seem to blindly praise the furry fandom despite there being clear evidence for the points mentioned previously, these people, along with furries try their hardest to spread an almost propaganda-like pro-furry agenda, pro-furries say that the furries are a family friendly, welcoming fandom, (which couldn’t be further from the truth) and often times that would draw in non-furries to join the fandoms and become furries (including minors which you can see why that is horrible), when it comes to furries and the fandom, pro-furries are anti-nuance, they don’t recognize or research the history of the fandom and come to their own conclusions about it, and they dare NOT mention anything bad about the fandom to anyone, even though it’s all online to be researched, it’s hush-hush to them

The reason for both the Japanese and English text is because TH-cam is an American company and used mostly by English speaking people. But this is a pretty common thing that Japanese people do in general. If you go to Japan many things are translated into English under the original text

I remember reading the news when it first came out and it looked so real that I immediately thought that the man was so saddened by loss of his dog that he just took the skin of it and sewed it to make a costume for himself
i do like tuvs content, but this video kinda rubbed me the wrong way. i really didnt like how the title and thumbnail gave the idea that this was some sort of sick thing, but instead its just a lighthearted channel of someone using a well made dog costume just enjoying it. not to mention trying to see into the costume to try and see who it is when it was specifically said in these videos that the person doing this isn’t comfortable with that.
i also really dont like the nitpicking with the “realism” of how theyre acting in the costume when really its obvious that keeping it realistic in such a limiting suit would make that like, really difficult

This is so disturbing because you can see the human inside desperately try to imitate a dog's movements, but they eventually fail and make an eerily human-like movement.

Gonna be honest, this is kind of a bad video on your part. I usually love your content but it's really not "disturbing" or "unsettling" at all. It's just a guy in a quadroped suit that he got to make himself happy. This is a thing within the furry community you can find pretty commonly and its really cool to see :) Mascot costumes are also known to be very popular for almost anything in Japan.
I think you only really say it's disturbing is because you aren't really used to seeing it. It makes me a little sad to hear you say a man just simply sharing something that makes him happy unsettling and creepy, but I understand it's also not considered the "norm" in some parts of the world.
Maybe a bit more research on furries in Japan and quadroped suits would have made this a better video instead of just saying he's creepy. That's all I have to add, thanks for reading if you did.

Hello, fursuiter here. This type of costume is known as a quadsuit, most suits have vision through the neck, and yes your legs are like you would be regularly on all fours but your arms have little stilts that prop you up so its at an an even level. They do get very sweaty but a lot of more expensive costumes like this have fans in the head and the people could also wear ice vests, there's a lot to it but it's worth it for that magic!

the dog costume theory (4:07) reminds me of how I used to walk on my knees all the time and it really hurt my knees & ankles, even if I padded them somewhat. (i used to trap my feet in a onesie or any other clothing item)
Nowadays I just walk with my legs bent underneath me to match the height of my arms, if I wanna walk on all fours for whatever reason. (usually it's to scare my family members)
I highly recommend walking on all fours. You might think it's weird, but that's just because it's fun. Just do it in a clean space or wear gloves, maybe don't do it on a walk in crowded places, people might get scared or take pictures without your permission.

Toco's based in Japan, but the notoriety spread overseas, it's very common for Japanese youtubers to have English captions, I don't see why you see it as attention seeking? It was either that or more misinformation due to youtubers and online personalities google translating the text.

hey! fursuiter/fursuit maker here. there's a few things you mentioned that i wanted to add on to
1. how the body fits in the suit:
i think your gf was right about how the body fits in the suit. looking at the back legs you can see the lack of mobility compared to the front legs. they are extremely stiff. and you can see while they're climbing they really have to swing their back legs up each step due to the lack of joints
2. sight:
most fursuits with a hyper-realistic style have small holes cut where the eyes look out from covered in a mesh, in this case they would most likely be on the upper snout, almost around where the "teary" part of a dog's face would be. the "animal" eyes in these suits kinda look like half a marble, and are often made from resin. seeing how dark the eyes are i seriously doubt it would be possible to see out of them, not to mention the fact that they're probably placed slightly higher then (human) toco's eyes. the odd thing is that i can't really see the mesh covered holes, which are normally somewhat noticeable due to the sudden change in material, however since the suit is from a company that makes suits for movies i wouldn't be shocked if they were just very well hidden. (EDIT: looking at the suit in full and watching how toco moves i'm guessing that the eye pockets are located in the dog's neck rather then the face. we can see when they try to pick up the ping pong ball with their [dog] mouth, they bend down in a way that would align their real eyes and mouth with the ball and struggled to pick it up due to the disconnect from having 2 "mouths". the jaw is most likely rigged from [human] toco's jaw, but because the dog mouth and toco's mouth are so far apart, even dramatic movements from the human mouth result in limited movement from the suit mount. this is common even in regular fursuits with jaw rigs unless more dynamic rig is implemented)
3. quadrobics:
quadrobics is the athletic practice of walking/running/jumping on your hands and knees, similar to a dog or horse. it's extremely difficult and works out your whole body. it's also exhausting and makes you sweat really fast. being in a fursuit also makes you sweat, like a lot. so not only is toco doing quadrobics the entire time they're in the suit, not being able to stand because of the position of their legs, but they are also surrounded by layers of foam and fur. it's EXTREMELY easy to overheat in even a fursuit head, let alone an entire quadsuit.
4. toco (the human):
looking at the suit and comparing it to some of the objects in the background toco seems to be relatively tall (esp for japan), around 5'9-5'11. based on how the suit moves and how they lay i'm assuming they got some chunk to them, otherwise the suit would have to be filled with a lot of dense foam, which would get very hot very fast.
there's my in depth toco study! i might add to this if i notice anything else but im a bit toco'ed out (get it? like tuckered?). in all seriousness, i fw toco. they're obviously someone with a passion and as long as they are not hurting anybody or themselves i say let em bark

3. the entire furry porn culture, there’s many ways to begin on this and results in many many shitty consequences, furry porn is RAMPANT in the fandom, you can find it in the furry art hashtag on ANY social media platform, personally I’m not one to shit on artistic freedom but if you’re drawing anthropomorphic animals fucking for the sake of sexual pleasure there’s something really wrong with that, anything that resembles animals should never EVER be sexualized because it may lead to zoophilia which is animal abuse and a crime
4. Again, adjacent to point three is how horny everyone in the fandom is as a result of the furry porn, most of everyone on furry Twitter can be saying really deranged stuff about anthro characters, with that, they likely can’t talk normally to the people that they’re sexually attracted to, Hypersexuality and Nymphomania can be really unhealthy and impact your relationships like this does to the relationships furries have with people
5. Furry gatherings, most well known furry gatherings result in disaster, for example, rainfurrest where furries vandalized, assaulted, committed sexual assault, and were arrested for drug possession, chlorine poisoning and murders happened at other gatherings as well, which I can infer that furries aren’t even safe in their own conventions
6. The Allies of the fandom, this has to be one of the most problematic parts or part adjacent to the fandom, these people seem to blindly praise the furry fandom despite there being clear evidence for the points mentioned previously, these people, along with furries try their hardest to spread an almost propaganda-like pro-furry agenda, pro-furries say that the furries are a family friendly, welcoming fandom, (which couldn’t be further from the truth) and often times that would draw in non-furries to join the fandoms and become furries (including minors which you can see why that is horrible), when it comes to furries and the fandom, pro-furries are anti-nuance, they don’t recognize or research the history of the fandom and come to their own conclusions about it, and they dare NOT mention anything bad about the fandom to anyone, even though it’s all online to be researched, it’s hush-hush to them

The reason for both the Japanese and English text is because TH-cam is an American company and used mostly by English speaking people. But this is a pretty common thing that Japanese people do in general. If you go to Japan many things are translated into English under the original text

i do like tuvs content, but this video kinda rubbed me the wrong way. i really didnt like how the title and thumbnail gave the idea that this was some sort of sick thing, but instead its just a lighthearted channel of someone using a well made dog costume just enjoying it. not to mention trying to see into the costume to try and see who it is when it was specifically said in these videos that the person doing this isn’t comfortable with that.
