The time it must take setting up for all those shots during portaging has to take a lot of time. Esp the ones where you have to climb up a steep hill,, set up the camera, then walk back down to pick up the canoe only to head back up again. All this effort to make it an enjoyable experience for us viewers. Absolutely top notch professional work. My favorite channel by far. Thank you for taking me along on another journey
What a pleasure to travel with you on your paddling journeys through your skilled lens of cinematography and heartfelt, honest narrative. No BS, no bravado, just a guy and his dog making it look so easy when really its not, well done!
Great video, My son and I enjoyed your brief visit, we enjoy reliving our journey as we watch this video. Your comment on the water falls and what makes them special. For me it is very humbling knowing the water has been doing this for a time longer then I can even begin to comprehend. For this moment in time I am able to see feel hear the eternity of its existence knowing it will go on doing the same for ever it seems. My time spent with the natural falls spellbound by its presence is such a very small thing. Your fishing skills amaze us as we caught not even a nibble. Have a great season paddling
Hey Brian. We just got back from our first little trip of the season. It was a pleasure talking to you guys last summer. I was a little bit envious of the trip you two took together through that beautiful park. What a special place. I cannot agree with you more about the waterfalls. I’ve never really though about it like that before but you are so right. Appreciate the comment very much and hope you guys have a great tripping season in 2022. Maybe we will cross paths again this summer. 🛶
My brother Ian gave me hell!! I've been watching you for years! "Are you kidding me right now" he said, subscribe!! You inspired me to make a canoe cart for my spring trip to Rain Lake to make my way to McCraney! Love your channel!
Hahaha. I will have to thank Ian. We really do appreciate people taking the time to comment and subscribe if they choose to do so. Hope your cart works well for you this spring. I’m sure like all other canoeists you are itching to get out there. Happy paddling Rob. 🛶
What a beautiful part of the world. Loved the care and quality of the film and photos. Nice to see the on trail interactions with like minded individuals. Lou as always never fails to impress.
Wow! So spectacular with all those water falls. Obviously not your first rodeo Keenan, great job battling those high winds even Betty looked a little fearful. What a great video!!!!
Fantastic video Kennan. Always top notch cinematography. Thanks for taking us along on your magnificent adventure once again. I wish more people would appreciate the backcountry. Such a beautiful place to escape too. Looking forward to your next adventure. Cheers
Beautiful vid man. I was here a couple months earlier and it was funny watching you have similar experiences like the falls exceeding expectations or noticing the birch/cedar at the base of cabin falls. Great to see there was a spec in there...I sure didn't find any.
Thanks Jon. Ya that place continually blew me away. I’ll have to watch that video this morning as I’m fresh of out footage to edit maybe can get caught up on some videos. As far as the fishing goes I was fairly excited for the “trout streams” but it was a tough go. Had maybe 4 or 5 on but only managed to get one to the boat. Thanks as always for taking the time to watch and comment. Much appreciated.
Seriously amazing film! How you managed to capture all that footage in some of the steepest, most inhospitable backcountry I have seen on film is nothing short of jawdropping! So glad I found your channel!
that was lovely, thank you! Temagami and Lady Evelyn area was our favourite canoe camping country. We started coming here decades ago when Algonquin started requiring specifying which lake you were camping on each night. We immediately fEll in love with that area, and it became our go to. fortunately living in Muskoka it was not too far away, I'm 71, lost my wife to cancer in 2020, she loved canoe camping as much as I . I love your style, this brings back memories,
Well done! Beautiful scenery and great photography. At age 69 that’s what I have is memories of hikes, camps, boating and water-campfires-beauty. What I fear is when I can’t do this anymore and worse when I won’t be able to remember the memories.
What a beautiful film showcasing your journey. Went with a group here and some of the portages were a doozy lol. Thanks for uploading this very well done!
Another beautiful adventure! Great shots and editing as always. I never canoed before, but you inspired me to hop on the water and try it out, it was a great experience and I will continue with it. Thank you Kennan, for the great films, inspiration, and your beautiful and authentic character. Have a wonderful week. Best wishes, Mario
Thank you Mario. That is a very nice comment to read. Very cool that you have been out in a canoe. That’s amazing. Hope you have a great week as well and all the best with paddling adventures!
Another great adventure which you have captured brilliantly with your great photography and editing. Looking forward to seeing this summers trips. No disrespect but please bring back Ashley and Hugo ?.
Nicely done! Thank you for sharing your adventure. I appreciate your "flowy" waterfall pics. :) Your reverence and appreciation for the wilderness are inspiring and it is felt in the presentation of your footage. Live the good life and take care.
Wonderful filming you did! The music was perfect too! I don't watch too many peoples video's all the way through, usually skim through but yours are very much worth watching every minute! Happy tripping!
The wet shoe/sock scene was a serious matter. Lou on the other hand reminds us she's still a cattle dog. Lol 😂 great video. Also, the fishing bond you two have made me day.
Beautiful, scenic video Keenan! Brings back many memories for me as I’ve done parts of the same trip & recognize the scenery from my own photos. These videos will be fantastic for sharing your adventures with friends and family members for the rest of your life! 👏🏻😀
Thank you very much Ron. Glad we could bring up some memories of this amazing place. I’m sure you captured some great photos here. (Maybe I’ve even seen some on insta?!?). Appreciate the comment very much and hope the dehydrating is going well!
Wow, what a breathtaking area and your skill at filming captured in great detail the adventure and beauty of the area. The portages looked crazy. This channel and content is so appricated.
Thank you very much Steve. Very much appreciate your support and are glad to hear you liked the video. The portages were really crazy steep in some places. Couldn’t imagine doing that route in the rain 🌧.
Hi Keenan and Ashley I am new to navigating you tube. Thank you Keenan in helping me choose a canoe for my retirement celebration. I will have a Souris River Quetico 16 in early August. I watched a bit of the Quetico trip. Yes definately you can feel when energies are telling you to stay away. My partner got me out to canoeing 14 years ago, but I have always gravitated to the woods for solace. Thank You. From Kevin Callans whisky chat, I understand you are having a very important ceremony. Wow, sending the energy of the natural world to your hearts joined. Susan Binks
Thank you very much Susan. Congrats on the retirement and a new souris River quetico. I hope you love it. We just had our big day this past weekend and it was perfect. Appreciate the kind words!
2nd or 3rd time I've watched this trip & I just love it ❤ so beautiful & peaceful there. And I've just got to say, I love your Betty-lou...she's such a sweetheart 💕
Wow…… the quote at the end brought me to tears….. I’ve watched hundreds of wilderness canoe videos, but none affected me like the ending to this one. Bravo

Awesome trip and route! Inspired me to go out there and attempt it this month and I can't wait to finally go out there and move trough this amazing terrain.
beautiful, as always. Your videography/photography are outstanding and your comments and music soothing and calming. I LOVE watching all of them. Hopefully there will be many more.

Keenan, lol I had the same reaction the first time and every time i make my way around the lovely Lady Evelyn area. Simply incredible! Have you thought about making an adventure one time up to Ishpatina Ridge next time you go back(highest point of land in Ontario)(ya gotta do it at least once right.. right?! lol) You wont be disappointed ..bring Ashley!
Its so amazing there isn't it Sheldon. What a place. Ishpantina is certainly on the to do list. Maybe this year. We shall see. So many trips planned so little time. Have a great paddling season Sheldon.
Another great video! Did this same route a couple years ago solo in five days, seven would have been better to relax more. Got swarmed by hornets on top golden staircase and camped above bridal falls, alot of highs and lows lol. This is such an iconic route in my opinion, takes alot of work but you’re surely rewarded.
Totally agree Mack. As far as I’m concerned, in Ontario I don’t think there is a better bang for buck trip out there. Those falls are amazing. Lots of tough portages though for sure. I like the 7 day idea. Thanks for the comment and glad you enjoyed the video and your trip to Temagami.

Lovely place. Amazing video. Cool dude and dog. I really liked your calmness throughout the video. It complimented the video very well. Hope to see more.
Loved following along with you and great work, as usual. I've never heard that inspiring quote by Sigurd F. Olson. Those are great words to end your film.
What an amazing trip. The views were stunning and the falls incredible. Nice to see someone using a tarp shelter. Do you have a video that talks about what you use, piece of your shelter system? Nate
Glad you enjoyed this trip Nate. This one as one of my favourite trips anywhere. As far as gear and tarp videos I currently don't have any videos where I talk about our setup but if I get a chance this winter I might see if I can make one. We get a lot of questions about the tarp and bug netting combo which we love. Thanks again for the comment.
Like all your videos, an excellent job. I noted your realization (concern?) that by sharing the beauty of the place may rob it of its isolation and escape from hoards of people. Well I'd already planned on going. Your video reassured me I'd made the right decision.
I don't usually watch videos like this, but I had to comment here. What an incredible job you've done putting this all together. A very relaxing watch. Has me itching to get out on my sea kayak again
You are more than welcome. Certainly feel like your living the dream when we are fortunate enough to go on all of these trips. We are very lucky. Thanks very much for your comment.
That is great to hear. I absolutely love temagami. Cannot wait for the ice to come off to get out there again. What a place. Happy paddling Bruce and hope You have a great temagami trip.
Very nice Keenan. We did almost that exact route in Sept. 2020, just gorgeous. You captured it so well. I want to go back! Bridal Veil Falls was my favourite although all the cascades at Helen Falls were stunning. Betty Lou is so sweet, just love her.
Hey Derek. I think you're right about Bridal veil falls. It's incredibly beautiful. What an amazing park. Im sure you are getting excited for the paddling season this year. Hope you have some great trips planned!
I did a very similar trip a number of years ago… For its beauty, as well as the experiences it has afforded me over the years, Temagami remains near and dear to my heart…the current price gouging that is occurring there, however, is enough to break my heart. As a dedicated soloist, I am left to wonder if I will ever be able to afford a return trip…for now, at least, I can live vicariously through this video! Always A+ work 👍
Thank you very much. Yes….I certainly understand what you are saying. Amazing place but right now the pricing is sooo stupid. I have no idea what they are thinking with that pricing system. How making if cheaper for large groups and more expensive for everyone else helps anything I have yet to figure out.
Great video and absolutely gorgeous video. I just ordered a couple maps of the Temagami area and definitely need to include more squats in my workouts. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Watching this really got me fired up for canoe tripping this year! Stunning long exposure shots and great captures of the endlessly beautiful scenery. I really gotta get myself a dog, it looks so enjoyable to have Betty-Lou as a companion on your solo trips. Great work on the video!
Thanks Alec. Yes having a Betty-Lou with you is really great company on solo trips for sure. Makes a big difference. Appreciate the comment and hope you guys have a great canoe season.
Just incredible views, this is a loop on my list now. I saw the pages from Haps book it looks like (which I have, so not i gotta go find it) haha Also, the middle part taking how it should be in Kevins book then go “no actually this is a pretty crap trail” had me almost crying laughing, that was the best haha
SPECTACULAR!!!! The allure of a waterfall in the backcountry just makes a trip eh Keenan? Happy to see your channel pushing toward 10k subs. AWESOME!!!

Appreciate that very much. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did. What a place!
Just found ur channel great video I love the canoe trips there
Thank you very much. Glad you’ve found our channel!
Well done…nice to see summer canoeing…didn’t hear Betty Lou whining after a fish but I imagine she did 🙂…great videography.
Ohhh there was certainly some whining going on. Thankfully between the waterfalls and the editing I think it was minimal in the video 😂. Thanks Jason.
@@CanoeTheNorth Yeah, my dog does the same. I think she can sense when I have a fish on before I do.
Lovely place Wish my parents had found it when I was young..
It really is a beautiful place.
I don't usually watch videos like this, but I had to comment here. What an incredible job you've done putting this all together. A very relaxing watch. Has me itching to get out on my sea kayak again
Thank you very much for not only watching but taking the time to leave a comment. Really appreciate it. Hope you get out in your sea kayak soon!
What a beautiful place and an awesome adventure!
Thank you very much. It’s an amazing place for sure.
Just beauty man ,, so lucky to be there just liven the dream so good .. thank you for all your work with filming this for us ..much appreciated !!!
You are more than welcome. Certainly feel like your living the dream when we are fortunate enough to go on all of these trips. We are very lucky. Thanks very much for your comment.
Temagami is on my bucket list, it looks like a very special and wild place. :) Wonderful trip, thanks to you and Betty Lou for sharing. :) :)
Our pleasure Jacqueline! You'll have to visit Temagami for sure. What a special place.
Outstanding. Really enjoyed it and am again inspired to plan my Temagami trip.
That is great to hear. I absolutely love temagami. Cannot wait for the ice to come off to get out there again. What a place. Happy paddling Bruce and hope
You have a great temagami trip.
excellent, reminds me of my Quetico trips
Love Quetico as well.
Hope you have some great trips planned!
wonderful video! thanks for posting! I will always be watching here in Brazil! hugs!
Thanks Vanderlei!
So beautiful!!
Thanks Lisa.
How making if cheaper for large groups and more expensive for everyone else helps anything I have yet to figure out.
when doing your long exposure give the foreground (waterfall) a quick flash with the flashlight.
I like that idea. I will give that a go and see how it works out! Thanks for the tip.
Chris Prouse quality video. Thanks for the Sigurd quote. Cheers.
High praise David. Appreciate it very much.
Great video!!!!😊
Thank you!
Awesome solo trip Keenan! Temagami is truly beautiful. Cheers
Thanks very much Dean. Hope the coming seasons are full of great adventures for you! I’m sure you have some great stuff planned.

น่าทึ่งมากเพื่อนของฉัน ขอบคุณมาก! 🇹🇭 🇨🇦
Great video and absolutely gorgeous video. I just ordered a couple maps of the Temagami area and definitely need to include more squats in my workouts. Looking forward to your next adventure.
Thanks very much Doug. This place is amazing. Some of the portages are rough but totally worth it. Hope you get up there this summer.
right on! great content. no foolin!
Thanks very much Judy.
Looks like sort of granite. I wonder how those waterfalls were formed. Are you doing specials when reaching 10k subscribers ?
Ahh Temagami never disapoints! 😍
Thanks Flowerchild! It’s such a beautiful place!
Really Awesome! Beautifully done, great music and editing. Looking forward to seeing more of your work as I'm new to your channel! Thank You!
Thanks Big sky! Appreciate it very much. Welcome to the channel and thank you for your comment!
Hahaha 🤣. Ya, that’s the problem with making videos. Your always sharing you favourite places and this loop was exceptional. Thanks very much Alex.
SPECTACULAR!!!! The allure of a waterfall in the backcountry just makes a trip eh Keenan? Happy to see your channel pushing toward 10k subs. AWESOME!!!
Thanks very much Ian. Ya those falls are simply amazing. Getting close to 10k and soft water season. Things are looking up! Thanks as always Ian.
