This is the full 22-day trip. It's broken up into 3 movie-length chapters or ~10-minute days in the playback bar/video description so you can break it up any way you like. I know some of you prefer multi-part...I prefer to binge and get lost in the content and feel like I experienced it so that's what we roll with. There are another 27 days of trips from this season's backlog to come (plus the fall and winter episodes of Trippin'/155 Days): -7 days solo on Lake of the Woods -3 days with my Dad outside Quetico -17 days solo in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park (saving this for a winter edit) *Sub to Lost Lakes 2* on YT (previously Lost Lakes Shorts) for deleted scenes to come. So much doesn't make the final edit and some of it will start finding a home on that page. Also a good backup in case there's any issue with the main channel...like getting banned for no reason (it happens). www.youtube.com/@LostLakes2
I hope you’ve read “The Old way North: Following the Oberholtzer-Magee Expedition” by David Pelley, 2008. It details their 5 month, 2000 mile paddle across largely unmapped barren lands in 1912, including a long stint on Lake Nueltin searching for its outlet to Hudson Bay. Thinking they might not make it out before winter, “Ober” left a good-bye letter to his mother in a can on the shore. He found and retrieved the letter on a return trip in 1966. He went on to become the key player in preserving the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness which abuts Canada’s Quetico-Superior.
@LostLakes I am so excited to binge this. I am in awe of how much you've put into this! The amount of footage and editing and memories must be insane! Thank you so much.
I am 82 years old and house bound. You took me to another world. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I send you blessings for your married life together.
Jon you should receive a Canadian film award for the year, that was the best Caribou footage on TH-cam. And again this is best outdoor TH-cam channel in the world.
I'm not surprised at all that there's 55 thousand views in one days time. The secret is evidently out as more and more people discover your fine work. I'm not sure many people understand just how many hours I guarantee you put in editing, adding background music, and fine tuning this masterpiece of a video. Some say your videos are award worthy, but I suspect the only award you require is getting to go on these trips. Very well done Jon, keep up the fantastic job you're doing creating content. All the best to you and Erin, your both just terrific.
Jon, I can't thank you enough for making these videos. I lost my best friend six months ago, and we would always watch your videos together. Every time I watch a new one, it's like she's beside me again. We never got a chance to go on our own wilderness adventure before she passed, so I am so grateful that you share these wonderful places and experiences with all of us.
This is my first comment on any youtube video, but this masterpiece deserves recognition, thanks for taking me on your journey. it touched and moved me so deeply ... from the bottom of my heart: Thank you!
I've watched many hours of you guys, and others, explore the wilds of this magnificent country, but hands down, these last 4 hours blew me away. Jon that was pure magic. The best honeymoon ever. ❤ so beautiful it should be up for The Canadian Screen Awards.
Very well said Dave. Reflects my thoughts as well. Was nearly in tears that it was over! I couldn't even watch anything else for 4 plus hours let alone be so craving even more!
You two are a dream of what marriage and a life truly lived should be. I have watched you two for quite some time now and this is honestly the best adventure I’ve been privileged to observe. Congratulations and I wish you both an amazing lifetime of exploration and wanderlust! Never lose it! Such a beautiful experience to share. I can’t even find the superlatives to expound!
Of all the nature and adventure based content developers, you are by far my favorite. Your cinematography and editing are second to none. I know I speak for many people when I say that this video needs to be nominated for an Emmy. Thank you so much for amazing work.
E X C E L L E N T does not even begin to describe the filmography of this epic video. I was spellbound during the caribou herd footage. Your use of the drone, the dramatic underwater captures, the inserted excerpts from the book, and the awesome music selections you made to accompany the crystal clear audio that you professionally recorded on the journey, all combine to make this a wildly enjoyable viewing experience! Thanks to you both for sharing your honeymoon with us. TRULY AN AWARD-WINNING EFFORT.
As another American I agree, this has been a very hard & depressing week. Thank goodness for Erin & Jon and this wonderful channel. It has been a respite for me. ❤
Jon, you and Erin, a trip of a lifetime. One hell of a way to spend a honeymoon. Thanks for taking us along on such a mystical nature adventure. Fantastic top notch videography.
I agree!! This deserves some kind of AWARD! Jon and Erin what a Honeymoon trip! Closes with a rainbow and a song! It has it all!! Can’t wait for the next one!!
I just got home from work, this timing is incredible. Also fun fact, this runtime is longer than the extended editions of both The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers, and only 10 minutes shorter than the extended edition of Return of the King. I think I speak for almost everyone when I say there are no complaints
Exactly. Don't want to watch the whole thing? Don't. For the rest of us, this beats the hell out of binge watching any of the garbage that's out there, and can be consumed in much the same way. Break it up into more manageable 30 minute episodes or whatever suits your schedule, and enjoy the show!
Thank you! I'd love to write a narrative-style guidebook someday, but likely that's a retirement project...or whenever my body can't do this anymore. Something to look forward to when that day comes
Hey you two! 😍Nightshift worker @ Lat. 63° in Sweden here, I just finished this wonderful masterpiece of a production split up over a couple of shifts. It's not just a great film about the remote wilderness, but also a documented milestone in your journey together in life. So happy for what you got to see and also for the bond you two share, i found myself smiling on multiple occasions💚 Thank you so much for the effort of creating such a long and well put together production, all the best from Sweden 🙌
To be an outdoor adventurer and choose to follow in Farley Mowatt's footsteps for your honeymoon together. Nice trip, Erin and Jon, and thanks for taking us along for the ride.
The bond you two have must be incredible… what an amazing honeymoon. I am blown away by your cinematography skills. This film deserves awards. Thank you for bringing us along!
Amazing that Jon and Erin got to have a trip of a lifetime and everything they have wished to see on camping trips came true while on their honeymoon. You could see Jon almost tears up around the 3 hour and 22 min mark. Amazing video and just want to say thank you for everything you produce for us to watch.
Jon and Erin, thanks for taking us along on your trip. So beautifully done. My heart too was saddened that it had to end. Peace to you both and may your lives together always ride that river of life.
I feel like I say this with every new video drop, but this is your best one yet! Music, cinematography, editing, wildlife, everything. Perfection. Thanks Jon and Erin!
This incredible movie is just what I needed to see AND feel right now. 5 days ago, a close friend of mine passed away from cancer, and I've been locked in sorrow and grief. Your movie reminded me of the preciousness of life, the 'living river' of life witnessing the Children of the Wind moving en masse across the barrens. The white wolf, like a messenger with his steady gaze. Then, at the end, you eloquently wrap the experience up with the still photos, set to music that brought me to tears from the beauty of it. Thank you for the gift that you share through your filmmaking. It brings stories of purpose and perspective, and can quite literally lift the human spirit. That's priceless. Thank you. 💙 Wishing you and Erin a lifetime of love, good health, happiness, and beautiful adventures. ❤❤
Just started watching your trip and had to stop and tell you about a moment that gave me chills. Back in the late 90’s early 2000’s a group of us friends went up to Nueltin Lodge, 4 times in total. Every year we became more adventurous, it was not just a fishing trip. We used Windy Outpost for boats and supplies and would take off north using the small outpost cabins the lodge built at Fox Narrows and Sealhole lake. Your comments about the vibe really hit home, that place gets in your blood. Back to the chills, as you entered the Narrows cabin and panned to the board with pictures, the one you zoom in on was my best friend who has since passed away. Funny we never went to the Narrows Camp so not quite sure how the picture ended up there. Thanks for sharing your journey and I am so looking forward to the rest of the video.
@@LostLakes Thank you, the memories you create up there will stay with you for a lifetime. You will go back, do it because at some point you won’t be able to. I am so envious and wish I was young enough to go back.
Just finished the entire trip. The wonderful way you presented your journey truly captured how unique and special this area is! For me personally I loved every minute of it, seeing places I recognized, especially at the top of the lake, brought that feeling back and I have the two of you two to thank for that. Look forward to watching your next adventure.
Dear Erin and Jon, I usually love watching your videos while doing indoor sports. But this time you made it into our family's prime time, which is very limited and rare and where we select the content carefully. My best congratulations on this outstanding work!
Wow! Just wow. Lost lakes is already my favourite channel, but this is on a whole different level, just amazing to watch. Thank you for this, I love watching you and Erin travel together. I didnt want this trip to end.
I’m a resident of northern Ontario, and have been a fan of your channel for 5 or 6 years now, and couldn’t be more happier to have this video dropped for the weekend. Continue the good work Jon and Erin, you are living the dream!!
Even though I watched the entire video weeks ago I keep coming back to watch portions before bed, im not sure if I am making sense but to me this video is representing Hope and compation. Hope for a great life ahead of us all and compation for planet earth and its inhabitants
Once it started I couldn't stop... I watched the whole thing straight through and loved every minute of it! Thank you for sharing your very special honeymoon with us!!
This is superb journey. A very good relaxing movie to watch. I know it's so late to say this because I'm so busy and finally have the time to watch this whole epic video. Thank you, Jon & Erin. 🙏
Thank you for this exceptional video of an exceptional wilderness trip. I am sitting here at home, bored recovering from knee surgery and this video surely help me pass the time.
What an amazing honeymoon! I couldn't help but cry when the caribou honored you by bedding down near you! And the white wolf! Everything was stunning and the filming, editing and score were perfect! Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
Jon. I have followed your journey from the start of your earliest videos through to your current and present 'Lost Lakes' adventures. Without a doubt this production has put you in a different category and level compared to most TH-camrs. Don't let the minds of Hollywood cinema photographers steal you away ! Although this is a lengthy production you have beautifully delivered us, it unquestionably confirms to me that your "trial" decision to step into this TH-cam world fulltime was the right one. Do Not Stop !! Peter
The footage around the 3-hour and twenty-minute mark of the enormous herd of caribou was some of the most spectacular nature footage I have ever seen. Truly a wondrous sight and I can only imagine what our two adventurers were feeling as they experienced it. Kudos to you both for capturing and sharing it with us.
Your videos never fail to fill me with a sense of wonder, magic, and an appreciation for our natural world. Thank you for taking us along on these journeys!
That was EPIC! Once again phenomenal photography Jon. The buildup of Elk sightings... WoW... no words. Thank you for this. I sat and watched it all. What a great Friday night!!!!
Jon and Erin this was a fantastic watch! Provided me with multiple days of great entertainment. What a great honeymoon for the both of you - will definitely be a memorable one. I can't believe the videos you got of the caribou herds...National Geographic quality. Thank you for sharing!
been following this channel since BAO and this production/episode/life chapter brought tears to my eyes a number of times. its just so good to see you and Erin together and to see you doing this full-time - thanks for the joy you bring to all of us as you take us paddling down the river of life
Been wondering about you Jon with no recent uploads and now I find out the beautiful reason! 22 days! Awesome and Happy Anniversary to the lovely couple! Best to you and Erin!
This was so magical to watch. You guys are so peaceful and loving to each other. You can feel the love. Thanks for making these kinds of videos. There isn't anything else like them, and they truly uplift my heart. Congratulations to you both ❤🎉
What an amazing honeymoon! Thank you for bringing us along on your adventure, it felt like I was right There with you two🙏🏻 The background Music when you watched the caribou was perfect 🦌
Thank you so much for sharing this part of your lives AND for not cutting this into 12 different videos. I truly believe the majesty of The Barrens and the impact it had on you would’ve been lost. I watched all four hours in one go. Thanks again
Caribou are such majestic beautiful animals. I just love them 💕 I'm so glad you were lucky enough to witness 'la foule' and capture it on film for all of us to see ❤ that moment you captured behind your camp with a rainbow at sunset and caribou everywhere was pure magic.
Finally finished watching over the course of a few weeks. Looked like a lovely honeymoon! The wildlife was outstanding - bringing that big lens was absolutely worth it!
Dear Jon and Erin..... I have missed you so much....travel, reading books, collecting artifacts..my dream trip..And, I'm certain that Farley would be doing a wee little jig up in heaven.... thank you !!
This was an amazing adventure, I am so grateful that you shared your honeymoon experience with us. Great filming and narrative. Thank you for not breaking this into three videos and making us wait a week before seeing the next portion!
Finally got to watching this and wow, just wow. It’s been such an adventure watching your channel grow along with your camera skills. I felt like I was there with you two the whole time! Keep hoping to run into you two at some point in T Bay. You’re my fav channel for a reason! Incredible work you two.
A truly superb documentary with gorgeous cinematography and engaging dialogue. Thank you for sharing your adventures and honeymoon with us! ❤❤wishing you both a life of fulfillment, peace and joy.
Jon and Erin, thank you ever so much for filming your incredible honeymoon and sharing it with all of us! Absolutely incredible! I especially appreciate your editing skills and the music you add to it. The music, for me, adds so much to the stunning sites you saw and experiences that you two had! We might have had a long wait for this video, but it was so worth it!! Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us!
Jon, before watching, I have to say the wait was worth it already. And you didn't disappoint starting out with the Canadian National TH-cam Anthem 💪😆 (whatever that little acoustic sample is). Excited for this epic!
Congratulations to you both, and thanks for sharing your trip. The music and editing and story telling was fantastic. I watched it right through, and cried at the herd. the book extracts and discussions are always great, but this especially so. I was fearing that no herd was left... and when it came I cried for joy, and I'm lying in bed with lupus and will never even see Toronto let alone the far north. Thank you both so much for sharing and both being such great companions. you two give marriage a good name. x
Wow ..what a trip indeed! So vast and beautiful. Your choices of music was haunting. Loved seeing places Farley Mowat visited and am hopeful that that white wolf was related to Farley’’s wolf Angeline in Never Cry Wolf. Such a beautiful film.
I've watched A LOT of big production wildlife documentaries over the years, and I think this is the best caribou footage I've ever seen! With still an hour left! The variety of the shots you got because you kept a good respectable distance... Just incredible! And all we miss out on is less of them close up in a stressed/fleeing state. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Edit: Holy crap! I didn't think it could possibly get better than Day 16. Then you show me the next fluffing day! That group laying down, another trying to scratch that velvet itch on its antlers with a hind leg, a fawn feeding from it's mother FFS! Wild fluffing Canadian caribou! Someone else mentioned it, and I whole-heartedly agree, this deserves some serious awards.
The moments you guys shared with the caribou were seemingly unreal. Just absolutely breath taking. I'm sure you guys were losing it off camera. I could feel the energy of this trip through the screen! So happy you guys were blessed with such a perfect honeymoon. Love from BC
I struggle to find the words. I've enjoyed your channel for years. My wife and I have also flown into some very remote wilderness canoe trips. But nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to this incredible masterpiece that you two have shared with the world. The Children of the Wind has become part of our soul. Thank you Jon and Erin. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
What a fantastic honeymoon! Glad to see Erin and you Jon. So much to see and be amazed by. This could be on National Geographic. So many questions but not now. Enjoyed this video so much. Great job Erin and Jon.
This is the most amazing video . Truly a trip of a lifetime for you and us ! I am 60 years old and highly likely will not see the Barrens live myself but thru your eyes and lens I can .Thank you so much !!
so happy to see you back, I rarely comment but been a sub since day one. I remember when you only had 7 subscribers and I think I was number 8 lol. your videos have come a long way but I gotta say i've loved all of the content. Always looking forward to your videos and so happy you post these adventures. Cheers.
@lostlakes Thank you for putting out these Videos, and this one was an over the top adventure. Being from Northern Ontario Myself, your videos and other Ontario content creators inspired me to get out on the water, Sold my ATV bought a swift pack boat, lost some weight, and being more active. Now gathering up some camping gear and my first solo trip will be next season, again Thank you
Jon and Erin; thank you for taking me along on your fantastic Honeymoon trip. I will never forget this one. The herds and a white wolf. A peeing Reindeer. Ha. Was it Rudolf? Eh? Your videography is unmatched by others. Your background music is super relaxing. I enjoy your knowledgeable commentary and explanations. Best regards for the holiday. Hope you can get in some rest time. God bless you both. Greg / CT USA
Wow! What a beautiful journey! Good to see you two living the best life, thoroughly enjoyed this. Ive been a fan for quite some time and this is one of my favorites. Cheers! ❤️
Fantastic video! I can’t imagine all the time put into editing 22 days worth of footage. Congrats it is awesome! I loved all 4 hours of it. Both the video and the stills are great!
everything we have come to expect and so much more. There must be a film fest award or two just waiting fo this to be submitted. The Barens, the cinematography, the lovers, the wildlife...so lovely. Thanks so much.
There are another 27 days of trips from this season's backlog to come (plus the fall and winter episodes of Trippin'/155 Days):
-7 days solo on Lake of the Woods
-3 days with my Dad outside Quetico
-17 days solo in Woodland Caribou Provincial Park (saving this for a winter edit)
*Sub to Lost Lakes 2* on YT (previously Lost Lakes Shorts) for deleted scenes to come. So much doesn't make the final edit and some of it will start finding a home on that page. Also a good backup in case there's any issue with the main channel...like getting banned for no reason (it happens).

🙏🙏
Thank you for this exceptional video of an exceptional wilderness trip. I am sitting here at home, bored recovering from knee surgery and this video surely help me pass the time.
I was there last year (knee surgery) so I feel your pain. Thanks for joining us and hang in there! Physio exercises are worth every second :)
What an amazing honeymoon! I couldn't help but cry when the caribou honored you by bedding down near you! And the white wolf! Everything was stunning and the filming, editing and score were perfect! Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
The only way to beat the Sunday scaries. 4 hours of my life well spent. Go Jon and Erin!
This film was awesome to put it mildly! Incredible photography, background music, on and on and on. Thanks for taking us with you.
Y’all are couple goals! Also, you are a fantastic videographer!
I wish you both many years of happiness and wonderful adventures! 🍻
🙏🙏
Absolutely amazing viewing and It’s going to be a come down from watching this. Happy honeymoon and thank you for taking us on this magical journey. ❤
💚
Peter
Appreciate that so much Peter!
Said it before but as a fellow Canadian I am proud to see how Jon and Erin respect the outdoors and enjoy life. Thank you :)
💚
Oh my!!! Fabulous!!! been waiting and waiting! Don’t ever stop doing this❤
Don’t think I’d ever turn back…. As always.. Thx for taking all of us along with you. ❤
🙏🙏
Baby Caribou....what a gift from God!!....great photography! Ty!
Your videos never fail to fill me with a sense of wonder, magic, and an appreciation for our natural world. Thank you for taking us along on these journeys!
🙏🙏
That was EPIC! Once again phenomenal photography Jon. The buildup of Elk sightings... WoW... no words. Thank you for this. I sat and watched it all. What a great Friday night!!!!
Jon and Erin this was a fantastic watch! Provided me with multiple days of great entertainment. What a great honeymoon for the both of you - will definitely be a memorable one. I can't believe the videos you got of the caribou herds...National Geographic quality. Thank you for sharing!

🙏🙏
Utterly amazing. Thanks for taking me on such a journey.
🙏🙏
Thank you so much for sharing this part of your lives AND for not cutting this into 12 different videos. I truly believe the majesty of The Barrens and the impact it had on you would’ve been lost. I watched all four hours in one go. Thanks again
Very much appreciated!
Caribou are such majestic beautiful animals. I just love them 💕 I'm so glad you were lucky enough to witness 'la foule' and capture it on film for all of us to see ❤ that moment you captured behind your camp with a rainbow at sunset and caribou everywhere was pure magic.
These two are everything that's good about our beautiful country. National treasures for sure.
Finally finished watching over the course of a few weeks. Looked like a lovely honeymoon! The wildlife was outstanding - bringing that big lens was absolutely worth it!
P.S. Like having the whole trip out there,,,we get to choose our own pace. Peace and Light, Brother
Dear Jon and Erin..... I have missed you so much....travel, reading books, collecting artifacts..my dream trip..And, I'm certain that Farley would be doing a wee little jig up in heaven.... thank you !!
First Joe drops a solo trip with Wolfie.. Now Jon/Erin and a 4 hr banger.. I'm sleeping well tonight.
Absolutely better than anything on Discovery Channel or NatGeo! So glad Jon and Erin are back!
Thank you both for all your efforts, we enjoyed the video immensely. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
🙏🙏
WOW. What an epic journey. Thank you both for sharing your honeymoon. ❤
💚
This was an amazing adventure, I am so grateful that you shared your honeymoon experience with us. Great filming and narrative. Thank you for not breaking this into three videos and making us wait a week before seeing the next portion!
Finally got to watching this and wow, just wow. It’s been such an adventure watching your channel grow along with your camera skills. I felt like I was there with you two the whole time! Keep hoping to run into you two at some point in T Bay. You’re my fav channel for a reason! Incredible work you two.

💚💚
Jon and Erin, thank you ever so much for filming your incredible honeymoon and sharing it with all of us! Absolutely incredible! I especially appreciate your editing skills and the music you add to it. The music, for me, adds so much to the stunning sites you saw and experiences that you two had! We might have had a long wait for this video, but it was so worth it!! Thanks so much for sharing it with all of us!
Truly appreciate that!
Thank you both so much for sharing and both being such great companions. you two give marriage a good name. x
Our hearts go out to you 💚 Thank you so much for joining us and sharing the emotions with us
Wow, when I saw it was 4 hours, I was thinking, Oh No....
Just finished. What a fantastic movie, it flew by.
Thanks for sharing honeymoon!
Much appreciated!!
Wow ..what a trip indeed! So vast and beautiful. Your choices of music was haunting. Loved seeing places Farley Mowat visited and am hopeful that that white wolf was related to Farley’’s wolf Angeline in Never Cry Wolf. Such a beautiful film.
Thanks so much Barb :) Super cool to imagine that. We just watched the movie last week...exceptional!
Edit: Holy crap!
Greatly appreciate that!!
What an absolute masterclass in how to make a TH-cam video. An amazing adventure. I lost a whole evening immersing myself with you both. Awesome.
Thank you!!
The quality of this movie is incredible. It is nothing short of a Hollywood Production!
🙏🙏
The moments you guys shared with the caribou were seemingly unreal. Just absolutely breath taking. I'm sure you guys were losing it off camera. I could feel the energy of this trip through the screen!
So happy you guys were blessed with such a perfect honeymoon.
Love from BC
Jon, you have absolutely found your soulmate!
Seeing those Caribou like that brings tears to my eyes. Absolutely beautiful. So rare to see Caribou these days and in such numbers. Thank you!
There must be an Award for this content! My Goodness, just stunning!!
💚💚
I struggle to find the words. I've enjoyed your channel for years. My wife and I have also flown into some very remote wilderness canoe trips. But nothing, and I mean nothing, compares to this incredible masterpiece that you two have shared with the world. The Children of the Wind has become part of our soul. Thank you Jon and Erin. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Thank you so much!! 💚💚
What a fantastic honeymoon! Glad to see Erin and you Jon. So much to see and be amazed by. This could be on National Geographic. So many questions but not now. Enjoyed this video so much. Great job Erin and Jon.
Thank you so much!
This is the most amazing video . Truly a trip of a lifetime for you and us ! I am 60 years old and highly likely will not see the Barrens live myself but thru your eyes and lens I can .Thank you so much !!
Thanks for joining us!!
so happy to see you back, I rarely comment but been a sub since day one. I remember when you only had 7 subscribers and I think I was number 8 lol. your videos have come a long way but I gotta say i've loved all of the content. Always looking forward to your videos and so happy you post these adventures. Cheers.
Thank you for your long-time support!!
Lost Lakes meets Northern Scavenger. Bliss! Double, double bliss! Yard work for a few more hours, then hit the couch. Arohanui from New Zealand.
The Backcountry Angling days! Whats most impressive is he has stayed true to his character, not in it for the clout.
@lostlakes Thank you for putting out these Videos, and this one was an over the top adventure. Being from Northern Ontario Myself, your videos and other Ontario content creators inspired me to get out on the water, Sold my ATV bought a swift pack boat, lost some weight, and being more active. Now gathering up some camping gear and my first solo trip will be next season, again Thank you
Thank you and keep 'er going!
Extraordinary! You’re living the dream! Thank you for sharing with us! And last but not least, happy anniversary!
Many thanks Greg!!

Fantastic video! I can’t imagine all the time put into editing 22 days worth of footage. Congrats it is awesome! I loved all 4 hours of it. Both the video and the stills are great!
everything we have come to expect and so much more. There must be a film fest
award or two just waiting fo this to be submitted. The Barens, the cinematography, the lovers, the wildlife...so lovely. Thanks so much.
