    This is such a unique channel (I'm referencing several videos I watched, not this one in particular)... these videos are such a good learning resource for seeing what NOT to do. These decisions are so erratic and poorly reasoned that modifications are necessary to fix the problems caused by poor choices. The decisions that saved money on initial purchase also resulted in spending lots of unnecessary money to fault strangely identified faults by strangely construed measures... wow.... I hope people don't get the idea that buying a used printer and refurbishing it is anywhere near this difficult... and yes, sometimes it's better to buy a new printer than a poorly chosen 2nd hand one.

    1:00:45 Print yourself a nice cable chain. Also, 1:05:55 You should change the end gcode in your slicer to move the bed forward and move the nozzle to the side so you can easily remove the bed.

      A good cable chain is a great idea, I’ll look into that. After fixing the print head offsets in cura, the axis properly moved out of way when a print was finished, before, it would cancel due to “move out of range” and only move the z axis up. I had a play with the end gcode as well. Thanks for your comment and suggestions!

      @@TommyHoughton You can do lots of useful and fun stuff with start and end gcode that makes life easier. I have mine play me a song and move the printhead to one corner and lower bed. For you it would be moving the bed forward and the toolhead to the right since yours is not a CoreXY like mine, but you get the idea.

      @@TommyHoughton you open to suggestions?

    • @TommyHoughton
      @TommyHoughton  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Of course! I'm currently doing an Ender 5 upgrade video in July which might have some "spin-off" episodes, but a consistent series on another machine or such would be great.

      @@TommyHoughton I was going to say look into mercury one.1 😂

    • @TommyHoughton
      @TommyHoughton  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Good timing! I've had several requests to do a Mercury 1.1, but it was out of my budget. I will be doing a CoreXY conversion though, and many other high performance upgrades. I'm allocating all my time and effort into this project/video, and I'm super excited. I just need to finish a review on a product and then I'll get straight to it. Cheers

      I’m so glad yoy enjoyed it! I knew a few people would prefer this style. I personally love watching longer content like this, and putting that option out there was easy enough to do. For future series’ I’ll do my best to achieve a similar product. Thanks!

    Main Comment - Q&A (Will be updated)
    Have any questions? Feel free to ask!
    Did I forget something? Please let me know!
    Any tips/feedback on this video/project or in general are always appreciated 😄
    * Did I fix the bed cable relief in the end?
    Yes, although I forgot to show it. I remodelled the part and reinstalled it. It's much more rigid now, and the cable's won't be strained.
    * Why's the audio all over the place?
    Some areas are normalized, while others are not, despite using normalization tools, noise reduction, voice isolation, and other audio fx. Microphone choice and placement changes frequently. It should all be stereo. A mashup this large was a bit more annoying to control than expected.
