I've been staying in the Premier Inn at London Stratford when I'm down in London for events at The Excel for about 10 years, but I've never before stayed in one of their new upgrade Premier Plus rooms - until now! In this video I show you what you get for the extra money, and decide if Premier Plus is worth it!

£441 for two nights in that shithole? Are you serious? For €120 a night you could stay in an equivalent location in Antwerp and stay at YUST. You'd have a full kitchen with a dishwasher, large fridge, coffee maker and a true art deco experience with artists coming around the hotel all of the time drawing stuff on the walls. You'd be walking distance away from multiple Michelin star restaurants and a tram away from the centre of the city. AND you'd be far less likely to get stabbed! What a rip off.
To get a bigger room at no extra cost on a standard room, just book a family room
Yes or accessible, provided that nobody with accessibility needs genuinely needs it.
The Nespresso machine is a nice plus. As is the fridge for storing your beer haha. The ultimate WiFi is free of charge too and I found this was enough for video calls. I found that the work desk wasn't that amazing though - just looked like a normal desk to me. Also the room was the same size as other rooms and I don't think there was a sofa in the room. Just the comfy chair. If it's only £12 extra, it's worth it. But if it's a lot extra, I'd say it isn't really worth it.
£18 for the fridge is enough for me!

The convenience of the usb slots is somewhat tempered for me by the fact it’s not usb-c. I understand a lot of people still have usb-b charging cables, but for the last few years, devices such as phones have only come with the USB c type cables.
Based on my limited sample size, only nerds like me have embraced USB-C - Anna and the kids still use USB-A. And I always have a couple of chargers in my bag wherever I go, so it doesn’t bother me either way!
I'd not heard of these + rooms. Definitely worth the extra £18 thats a bargain. Definitely going to get one of these next time I'm away.
Yes I only paid £12 extra for mine (Gatwick North terminal) and the Ultimate Wifi and bottles of water/coffee would cost more than that together anyway.

Is it just premier plus rooms that are updated ? Or all rooms including standard rooms ?
Stayed at London Stratford 4 years ago and all the rooms were dated with small 20 inch TV on this old dated furniture
Depends - at Gatwick North terminal the standard rooms are also updated.

The large shower on its own is worth the 18 £ extra.

I don’t know about London prices.. but that doesn’t seem worth it for the price. That seems like a rather standard room for a premium price…

Some of the standard rooms have also changed to shower only, but the toiletries are much better than they used to be.
How much is the parking may I ask? I wanted something close to London but cheap also.

In the Olympic park mate is a pretty great spot called the breakfast club so I you’re ever in Stratford again it’s a really good spot also faces the canal side

Yes the Croydon BoxPark also has Breakfast Club. Pricey though.
I’ve stayed in prem plus and it’s a bit of an anti-climax. Only things different is a bigger desk, fridge, coffee machine and more comfy desk chai and an armchair and foot stool. Not worth the £100+ more.
Strange, I've only ever paid a max of £15 extra when booking a plus.

You get 2 bottles of water, a Nespresso machine with 4 capsules and 2 chocolate bars plus a fridge to put anything you need or buy in.
If it’s 18 total it’s worth it, if it’s 18 per night then no

Can I ask which premier inn is this one please can I looked for Hammersmith one and it looks nothing like this one and it’s on the main road and not next to a car park!

Have you ever tried Hub by Premier Inn? They're more pod-based. They are scattered around London with a few in Edinburgh.
Stayed in one at Edinburgh a fair few times. Love it. Yeah it’s tiny, but for one person it’s brilliant
@@KalK-ym7cd They have seemed to have really gone up in price recently. Most weekends in London you are looking at £200+. I got really lucky and found a newly opening one in Marylebone, London for £116.
