ABOUT KEVIN CHAPMAN
I'm a 38 year old TH-camr from the UK. I've got a cracking beard and I'm currently going through the autism diagnosis process. I started this channel back in 2017 and by the time I left my full-time job as a Computer Science teacher in July of that year, my partner Anna was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw me because I was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today I'm a full-time content creator and always at home when the kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my ongoing journey! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs and The Chapman Family.

The house looks amazing but one thing is don’t put the tumble dryer in the kitchen because it will produce lots of mould and it can be hard to get rid off this is just from personal experience
My mum's house is an Edwardian beginning of 20th century 1900s build. She had her kitchen renovated 17 years ago this month. Her tumble dryer was in the utility room which was a downstairs bathroom as her house was two flats before she bought it, but there was a huge problem with the walls and rising damp in there, since there was no heating or ventilation, so her utility had to go, but it made the kitchen a lot bigger, brighter but not too much warmer because of the suspended floor, but it isn't damp where the washing machine and dryer are behind cupboards. The utility room was where there is now a huge expanse of worktop, a built-in wall cupboard where there was a larder cupboard before and a fridge freezer on the other side of the french doors. So long as Kevin and Anna leave a window open, that will keep the damp at bay when the tumble dryer's running, even though, as Kevin said, they won't use it very often.
They could stick it under the stairs.

Regarding the closet with the fuses and electra, I have the perfect solution. From my own personal experience looking after a disabled kid, with several issues mentally and physically, I just took away/ removed the door handle and we positioned a table, bureau or closet against that door. Save these door handles on a spot where you can find them, install them when needed and remove them afterwards. I don't think Andy is able to open the door without yhe handles unless he has magical attributes. Stay save family Chapman, and have a great time in your new home because that looks awesome! I think a lock with a padlock and key or perhaps one that requires a code would be better to keep Andy out of the airing cupboard

To solve the airing cupboard issue, just put a lock on the door with a key. Only you and Anna would be able to access then.

I am so excited for all of you. I was smiling looking at all of your new home, starting from the beautiful front door. I was amused with your comment about Amy's little room at the beginning. It reminded me of poor Harry Potter at his Aunt and Uncle's. I hope that when I see your next video that all of the issues with Andy are resolved. It is so difficult for him and it is sad to see because he really doesn't fully understand why and it is just so anxiety producing for him. Good luck with the move and thank you for the initial tour.

The house looks awesome! I must be honest, I commented on other videos on how I myself am anxious about the change, but now after seeing the house, hearing your plans and knowing what's to come, it's a lot less scary to hear.

I've been watching you guys for years, and even though I've missed the more chilled daily vlogs and old-style content, this is great. This channel and you and your family has been a big sort of constant in my life, and watching the vlogs have been a part of my routine. For the future, I want you to remember how you got where you are, and where you're gonna be. It's easy to get carried away with knowing you're famous and got a lot of people interested in your work and your life, but you gotta remember you're still Kevin!
Just a idea for andys room for the airing cupboard, might be worth looking into getting a star lock. As long as the landlords will allow they are brilliant

You could always take off the door handle to the boiler cupboard and keep the Handle Spindle Bar that’s inside,you can use that to open the door but also take it out and the door won’t open idk if I explained well. it may be too inconvenient but it’s a thought

You can easily replace the door knob on the closet with one that locks with a key. Just put the key hole side of the knob facing Andy’s room and the other side in the closet.

Only one thing for the cupboard in andys room, u need to put a lock on it, one thats un pickable, & not one that has a code, he’s very smart & will watch u putting the code in at some point & remember it..!

Very nice. Catch 22 though, as you were moving into your new place yesterday, my landlord had a lengthy chat with my mum to inform us he was retiring, so I am now looking for a new home on a very tight budget, well, I'm Ok going £100 higher than mum wants to go there, having drawn almost blank on the first day. 4 or 5 lovely properties... just in the wrong locations. I don't really want to live a mile away from local amenities, I just want to move mountains, lol. Like Andy, I am Autistic, so I've had a bit of a rollercoaster 9 and a half years nearly since I flew mum's nest age 27, with 3 house moves under my belt already, so, as of today, like you, I think my life goes onward, up or down, in stages of 2 to 4 years... but because I have never handled change very well, I'm hoping I will last longer than 4 years in my next house, which will hopefully, be on the same estate or very close to there, since there are places changing hands there a lot of the time.

I've watched this video a couple of times and had a thought about your concerns with Andy getting access to the airing cupboard. You could replace the handle with one that has a lock on it and keep the key somewhere safe that Andy doesnt know about or keep it on your person. Just an idea.
Suggestion for Andy’s room if yo want to stop him going in the room where the air pump room in his room ask the landlord can u remove the door handle just a thought 😊 I love ur channel been watching from day 1 I got diagnosed with adult autism last year

As an American, it's so funny to hear the words "fridge-freezer" because that's just a regular refrigerator in the states. We call small ones with only the fridge part "mini fridges". A "wardrobe" is just a "closet" and "chest of drawers" is just a "dresser". So moral of the story, we just shorten everything lol
Yes we do lol British comedians have also pointed out how literal we are as Americans the biggest example is how they say "pavement" but we say "sidewalk"
