The house looks amazing but one thing is don’t put the tumble dryer in the kitchen because it will produce lots of mould and it can be hard to get rid off this is just from personal experience
My mum's house is an Edwardian beginning of 20th century 1900s build. She had her kitchen renovated 17 years ago this month. Her tumble dryer was in the utility room which was a downstairs bathroom as her house was two flats before she bought it, but there was a huge problem with the walls and rising damp in there, since there was no heating or ventilation, so her utility had to go, but it made the kitchen a lot bigger, brighter but not too much warmer because of the suspended floor, but it isn't damp where the washing machine and dryer are behind cupboards. The utility room was where there is now a huge expanse of worktop, a built-in wall cupboard where there was a larder cupboard before and a fridge freezer on the other side of the french doors. So long as Kevin and Anna leave a window open, that will keep the damp at bay when the tumble dryer's running, even though, as Kevin said, they won't use it very often.
Regarding the closet with the fuses and electra, I have the perfect solution. From my own personal experience looking after a disabled kid, with several issues mentally and physically, I just took away/ removed the door handle and we positioned a table, bureau or closet against that door. Save these door handles on a spot where you can find them, install them when needed and remove them afterwards. I don't think Andy is able to open the door without yhe handles unless he has magical attributes. Stay save family Chapman, and have a great time in your new home because that looks awesome! Goodluck with all you nlstill need to do.... With love from the Netherlands
Really happy for you Kev. Mostly watch your FM vids but you seem like a nice guy who has been through a lot and worked really hard to get where you are. Keep up the great work!
Hello Kevin. Love the new house! But I will just miss the old house when you would sit in the living room in the winter when it got dark early. Good one you and your family. Enjoy!
Kevin hope you all enjoy the new house. Good Luck with BT! I am having a total nightmare with them! No internet for over a week, and nothing for the rest of this week! Thank GOD for their 4G WiFi Hub!
love your new house , it's lovely I had a 3 storey house similar few yrs ago your love it , good luck with the move and hope andy is ok with the move xx
I am so exited for you , you deserve happiness and joy, I have autism I have worked with people who have it and my brother and sister do to i would love to meet you guys one day ❤
New house looking well there Kev, internet is always a pain in the a** when moving. I've moved 4 times in 7 years and it ALWAYS takes so long to order, install and set up internet no matter where you move to lol
Just a idea for andys room for the airing cupboard, might be worth looking into getting a star lock. As long as the landlords will allow they are brilliant
I am so excited for all of you. I was smiling looking at all of your new home, starting from the beautiful front door. I was amused with your comment about Amy's little room at the beginning. It reminded me of poor Harry Potter at his Aunt and Uncle's. I hope that when I see your next video that all of the issues with Andy are resolved. It is so difficult for him and it is sad to see because he really doesn't fully understand why and it is just so anxiety producing for him. Good luck with the move and thank you for the initial tour.
You can easily replace the door knob on the closet with one that locks with a key. Just put the key hole side of the knob facing Andy’s room and the other side in the closet.
The house looks awesome! I must be honest, I commented on other videos on how I myself am anxious about the change, but now after seeing the house, hearing your plans and knowing what's to come, it's a lot less scary to hear. The kitchen looks really nice! I would love to see cooking videos etc in the kitchen again! I've been watching you guys for years, and even though I've missed the more chilled daily vlogs and old-style content, this is great. This channel and you and your family has been a big sort of constant in my life, and watching the vlogs have been a part of my routine. For the future, I want you to remember how you got where you are, and where you're gonna be. It's easy to get carried away with knowing you're famous and got a lot of people interested in your work and your life, but you gotta remember you're still Kevin!
AND THE FACT YOUR WEARING THE DODO AIRLINES SHIRT MAKES IT PERFECT! Also i just got the switch lite and new animal crossing a good couple weeks ago...With the small hole in the kitchen maybe a secondary freezer/refrigerator for andys food?
Wow. Love the new house. Interesting that you get to paint. Where i live renters cant even put a nail in the wall. No doing anything that will be evident after we move out.
I am pretty sure they moved somewhere else that is closer to Anna's new job.i can't remember in past videos if they said where it was or not.but I do know it's not in Peterborough
House looks great Kev, hope everything else goes well. I would have gone mad about the fridge freezer... surely it should have said when you ordered. What a nightmare! Anyway best wishes for your new home x
You could always take off the door handle to the boiler cupboard and keep the Handle Spindle Bar that’s inside, you can use that to open the door but also take it out and the door won’t open idk if I explained well. it may be too inconvenient but it’s a thought
Suggestion for Andy’s room if yo want to stop him going in the room where the air pump room in his room ask the landlord can u remove the door handle just a thought 😊 I love ur channel been watching from day 1 I got diagnosed with adult autism last year
Wow, it’s a little different from typical Canadian houses. Normally the kitchen, dining room and living room are all on the same floor. The clothes washer and dryer normally go right beside each other, usually accompanied by a laundry tub or sink. Also, every room in your old and new house has a door, which is different because usually only the bedrooms and bathrooms have doors, the rest just have door ways...and the newer houses are more open concept where there’s no walls between the kitchen, living, singing areas. I’ve also heard that the wall outlets are completely different too. It interesting to see the things that are similar and different. Congrats on the new place, hope the move went well and good luck with the internet situation!
I think with UK homes and there setups. from pictures or videos I have seen about UK homes .the washer and dryers are typically in different and most all rooms have doors and not just regular doorways like Canada. so what's shown in the video is a typically representation of most UK's homes
canadianchick88 it’s so weird that the washer and dryer are in different locations. It’s like putting the towel rack at the other end of the house from the shower/tub or putting the tv in a separate room from the couch. Maybe they always had a spot for the washer and would hang clothes to dry, but now since dryers have been invented after the home was built, they just put it where it can fit? Can’t think of any other reason for it.
Lovely house I'd miss being able to pop to kitchen for drinks and snacks to watch TV with though 😂. I currently live in a flat so no going up and down stairs 😁
Nice house, hope the move goes as smoothly as possible with no more little hic ups, Only one thing for the cupboard in andys room, u need to put a lock on it, one thats un pickable, & not one that has a code, he’s very smart & will watch u putting the code in at some point & remember it..!

I've watched this video a couple of times and had a thought about your concerns with Andy getting access to the airing cupboard. You could replace the handle with one that has a lock on it and keep the key somewhere safe that Andy doesnt know about or keep it on your person. Just an idea.
Very nice. Catch 22 though, as you were moving into your new place yesterday, my landlord had a lengthy chat with my mum to inform us he was retiring, so I am now looking for a new home on a very tight budget, well, I'm Ok going £100 higher than mum wants to go there, having drawn almost blank on the first day. 4 or 5 lovely properties... just in the wrong locations. I don't really want to live a mile away from local amenities, I just want to move mountains, lol. Like Andy, I am Autistic, so I've had a bit of a rollercoaster 9 and a half years nearly since I flew mum's nest age 27, with 3 house moves under my belt already, so, as of today, like you, I think my life goes onward, up or down, in stages of 2 to 4 years... but because I have never handled change very well, I'm hoping I will last longer than 4 years in my next house, which will hopefully, be on the same estate or very close to there, since there are places changing hands there a lot of the time.

Saying it was Amy’s bedroom under the stairs.. 😂 That’s such a Dad thing to say. I my first thought was you were going to say it when I saw the door.

They could stick it under the stairs.
That little room under stairs could be Dave’s room
U know what that’s really smart
Amy’s bedroom looks amazing! Spacious, warm and cosy with lots of feature comforts
I mean the one under the stairs 😂

To solve the airing cupboard issue, just put a lock on the door with a key. Only you and Anna would be able to access then.

Loving the new house! Yahoo for a p.o box as i have had a care package i've been wanting to send you all from New Zealand.
Maybe a lock for andys wardrobe/airing cupboard that only you have the key to/combo to?
I think a lock with a padlock and key or perhaps one that requires a code would be better to keep Andy out of the airing cupboard
u should get one of those fings where u have to put a code in that unlock the door for that cupbord in andys room
