I hope you all enjoyed the series, it was so fun to create and I'm so happy with just how many scraps I was able to use up. If you've not seen the other videos in the series, you can catch up here: th-cam.com/play/PLjm4DiVjQXU3ZXmlNv6uBF6cxyyO0lqxA.html
My favorite was the shaker card. Regarding the color of the sequins, the light ones helped to distract from the busy floral background. I think that darker sequins would distract from the embellishments on the front. I love it as it is. 😃
I am a total scrappy card maker so this series is totally up my alley. AND OMG - It never occurred to me to use stitching to make the vellum shaker. I love that IDEA; I'm going to have to try that method. Thank you for sharing!
Great job on this video series. I love seeing people use up their stash and find new ideas on how to use up scraps. I think scrapbooking and card-making are really great complementary hobbies for that exact reason. When time allows, I love starting with a scrapbook page and then put together a card before putting my supplies away. When making cards, I always use up scraps to decorate the inside of the card and the front of the envelope. Putting a little strip at the bottom or as a banner coming from the side makes a great tie-in with the card's design.
Your cards are beautiful, Gwen! Thank you so much for doing this fun series. I hope you do decide on another round. You shared so many creative ideas. Thank you again. 😊
I do love the idea of no scrap being left behind. I have started to use my punches and dies to make flowers and hearts plus stars, to embellish my pages. Thank you for all the great ideas 💡. I'm looking forward to giving them a go. I my even venture into a bit of card making ❤. Thank you for the inspiration.
Yes, I REALLY want to try it too, especially with an ombre look. I remembered this page th-cam.com/video/xS-zFYFtSrU/w-d-xo.html that I did with a very similar idea which I love so I'm keen to try it.
I do the same & have had artwork come home with my grandsons that go to that particular district and recognized some of the paper ! lol! Makes me happy to see it!
Thank you! You could always try them in a larger size, it might be a little easier to construct and give you a similar look. Glad you enjoyed these ideas. 🎀
Wonderful!! I'm so excited for you 🎉 Not sure if you saw this video, but it's an ultimate guide for stitching on paper 🌷 I share a bunch of tips and tricks for sewing on paper projects. th-cam.com/video/6MJVmT--NLo/w-d-xo.html
Wow Gwen, you really were on a mission to use those scraps with beautiful results! I will sometimes go thru my scrap bin for large coordinating pieces and create a layout from them. It's fun to revisit papers I had loved using the first time and giving them new life. You, however, took all your scraps to the highest level of use - well done! Thank you for all your effort to share this series with us. Very inspiring!
I’m so glad I watched this! I love to use up all my little scraps and I used to do fabric patchwork, so why not do it with paper too? The vellum shaker was very clever for using less attractive paper. I like your stitching details on the tiled cards.
All great ideas for using up scraps. My favorite is the shaker with the vellum also. Where can I find that beautiful vellum paper? I think I NEED to have some. Can't wait for more scrap videos. Thanks
So glad you enjoyed this!! That paper will be super hard to get, it's Maggie Holmes from her Open Book collection. That line is several years old now so I'm not sure you'll find anyone selling it sorry :(
I love, love, love how all these beautiful cards have turned out. Amazing use of paper scraps. You are so very talented. I love the idea of a patchwork design layout like you have done some of the cards. I love your little shaker card to. The gold embossed flowers and butterflies look so pretty. Thank you so very much for another wonderful video. I love all these ideas for using scrap pieces. I will be excited to see a second series on using up more scrap pieces. I am sure many of us have scraps to use.😃❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks so much Maree for your kind words. The patchwork ones are my favourites too and that cute little shaker, so fun to make! 🎀 Glad you enjoyed this!
Awww thank you!!! It was a fun one to put together that's for sure! YES.. you should play along, just make sure they generally co-ordinate, don't just grab random ones, you'll thank me later. 🥰
Oh my goodness, the surprise scraps at the end. LOL 😅 Paper scraps are like a family of rabbits. Another scrap busting video is definitely in order. I loved your cards, and I especially loved how you dealt with the not so pretty paper by making it a shaker.
Loved this series, different, and nice to see cards with scrapbook supplies- I don’t see much of that. I could suggest a mini album for the other remaining scraps- they seem to use up so much paper!! This was fun, glad your going to jump in and go again haha!! Unfortunately I just haven’t gotten any collection down so far that I could focus on scraps but that’s a goal for me this year to finish a full collection.. well done on all that you got used up!! 🎉
Thanks for popping by today lovely, you are right, mini albums are FAB for using up papers and if I went with a small enough format I bet I could use a punch of smaller scraps. The scraps I used in this series came from a bunch of collections, but they were all Maggie Holmes so they did co-ordinate for me and yes, looks like I'll have to do another one of these.
Great projects in this series! Your cards turned out awesome! I’ve got some patterned vellum that matches some busy patterned paper. I should make some shaker cards with it. Can’t wait for the next paper scrap series! 🫶
Congratulations, Gwen!!! You did a great job. 👏👏👏👏 The card with the pouch with the sequins and the card with the squares are my favorites but they are all great. I really have a lot of scraps so I really need to make time to do this. Thanks for the inspiration.
Way to go Gwen 🎉. You did a great job. Can't wait to see the next scraps series. Thanks for the continued inspiration. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊 BTW, I wondered if you ever use embossing folders on any of your projects.
Thanks so much Brenda :) Yes, actually I do!!! and as it so happens, I will be sharing some ideas in the next few weeks to a month. Glad you enjoyed this series 🌸
Hey there!! I actually did a full guide on How to Stitch on paper that goes through everything, I think you'll find that video SUPER helpful. You can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/6MJVmT--NLo/w-d-xo.html Glad you enjoyed this one 🎀
These are so pretty! Wish I had seen this video before purging a TON of scraps yesterday. 😖 LOL. Question: What type of thread are you using in your machine for that cool stitched edging?
Oh no Pam, what a shame!! Well, at least you know what to do next time 💗 The thread I use is this one here: amzn.to/3Q164Z2 It's thicker than regular thread. I'll also link here to my video guide on how to stitch on paper. I think you'll enjoy that because I go through the needle and thread options for best results. All the info you need is in that video: th-cam.com/video/6MJVmT--NLo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZpHIZMkYWiTsnp9_
@@dianesantacatterina7139 The printed ones are SUPER pretty, I'd get some of the plain ones too because they are really nice over the busy papers, they really transform them.
I love mine!! You have a couple of options for you: I like this one, it's super reasonably priced shrsl.com/4hcod and this one is almost identical to mine: amzn.to/3xo1XzD

I love scrap busting!!!
Me too!!
I can't believe how pretty your cards are made from just the scraps with some embellishments! You are so creative. I enjoy watching the process.
Thank you so much!
My favorite was the shaker card. Regarding the color of the sequins, the light ones helped to distract from the busy floral background. I think that darker sequins would distract from the embellishments on the front. I love it as it is. 😃
Yes that is true... maybe that's why I subconsciously went with the white ones. I'll have to test it out next time. Thanks for popping by today! 🎀
I agree. I loved that card as is.
Thanks Sandy!
That first card is one of my favorite for my scraps too! I do put myself up to challenge every couples of months to uses my scraps.
Awesome!! 🌷🌷🌷 Thanks for popping by the channel today.
Thanks for doing this series!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it! 🌷

I recycle my scraps by giving them to a local childcare centre which they love .I do this 2-3 times a year.
Yes, that is a great idea! I've done that in the past too. Thanks for sharing it here for other creatives to see.
What a great idea.

Great idea for left overs, thanks for sharing it here.... *Spoiler alert - I saved them all from the recycling :)
