    If pumpkin has a belly- ache, go old fashioned and use hot water bottle with warm water. Bundle her up with hot water bottle next to her belly to see if it can soothe her. Wrap her around you with her belly towards your body to comfort her. It might take a few months to get her digestive system working smoothly, so it's not uncomfortable for her. Hang in there, nap when she naps and compete for her lovely smiles! The days are long, the years feel short. This too shall pass!!

    Thank you thank you so much for the wonderful long video. This improved the quality of my day. I was cranky, now I am not. WooHoo. I am the oldest child in my family and I was an angel baby. Slept all night, no colic, no crying or screaming for no discernible reason. My mom said to herself: "Wow. That was so easy, I don't understand what everyone is complaining about.." So the parents decided to pop out another one. Along comes my brother. A certified nightmare. He was allergic to mom's milk. Finding a replacement was not as easy as you might think. He was tender bellied all around. He had double hernias and had to have surgery before he even left the hospital and he quickly became addicted to pain medication... which meant he had to go through withdrawals. Every single sound in the house would just set him off for an hour of screaming. My parents finally shipped me off to the grandparents because I was a toddler and I made noise. He did not sleep at night, he hated naps, he was a picky eater and was very cranky everyday. He was very cute however. Inch long eyelashes, blonde ringlets, sweet little beautiful face. But he was Beelzebub baby. Interestingly, I grew up with lots of demons and issues and troubles. My brother grew up responsible, reliable and very kind.

Al was grinding the fat both for lard and the sausage they were making. Jack is such a fantastic help and now he is doing the ducks all with his own money, he is quite a young man and a very responsible one as well. Your little daughter is precious. My youngest daughter cried for the first six months of her life.. Lordy, we tried everything..lol She would literally wake up if she felt the breeze from someone just walking by her! I asked the Dr how long it could last, and they said six mos, and six mos exactly she cried day and night..lol Since then, I’ve learned that many parents have solved this problem easily with a chiropractic visit for their baby! So I wanted to leave this message for you, because I’ve been there, and if I’d of known then, I’d of definitely tried it. God Bless!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

      I have heard about chiropractic therapy as well for upset stomachs on small infants. I have a nurse friend whose husband is a chiropractor and she said it indeed works! Just a small, gentle manipulation...I’m a RN for 40 years and I certainly would take my baby for this to relieve her discomfort if she were mine. No risk, worth a try. My first baby was very colicky and was breastfed. I didn’t know how to help him. All I could do was cuddle and keep him on the breast so he wouldn’t cry. I would have given anything to have known about chiropractic care. 🥰

    Ben...for a better cover on your bucket feeder, try using an old trash can lid. Sometimes you can get one really cheap at a dollar store or other store when they have more lids than containers. Some people forget the lids or don't want them. Also, check the local dump. People throw away their buster or bent up trashcans, along with the lids.

    My daughter has used a stretchy baby sling with her babies when they were little like this. She found that this enabled her to do things while the babe still felt cuddled. She found it especially useful with her youngest who was a winger from the start. She progressed them to woven wraps as they got bigger including ring slings. Used them until the kids were 3-4 years old. Hubby did baby wearing too. Great for places you can’t take baby buggy. Well worth persevering

    I remember 70 some years ago helping my grandmother render Lard. She did it outside over a big old campfire thing on the outskirts of fire and even then it was so smelly and good good good. I recently wanted some lard so I bought some at the store and it was not anything like I remembered. You just don't get that homegrown flavor in something that you purchase. My baked good items were good but not as tasty as they could have been if it was homegrown lard. Wish I was there with you guys I'd bring a jug of that home with me. That is if you'd let me. That sweet baby girl is getting prettier and prettier. Watching your boys help is like going back to my childhood I had three brothers and mom and dad taught them all how to work inside the house and how to work outside the house. We lived on a small acreage and I learned how to work right along with the boys. I could make milk a cow change a sprinkler pipe roll a bale of hay as good as the boys any day. God bless you all and keep these logs going I love watching your family grow and and and learning and building your homestead. This is me in Oregon checking out.

      We render our lard in crock pots( with a little water in the bottom) outside on our porch so the inside of our house doesn't smell like grease after rendering. The slow cooker renders beautifully-- and no stove to tend

    I know us mommas get helpful recommendations ALL the time😇, but I cant help but know that tired face Meg. I too had a high needs little angel bug and a chiropractor saved my sanity. She still never slept through the night till she was 4...lol but she stopped fussing all night and crying for constant nursing to make her feel better. Come to find out, my super fast labor and delivery just bound up her tiny spine and hips and made her so uncomfortable. If you haven't tried a pediatric chiropractor, its really worth it. After her first adjustment she slept 3 hours! I cried! Only regret I had was it taking 6 weeks to figure out that's all she needed. Sending some love your family's way ❤

    Tip: To clean your enamel dutch oven from the dark stain residues, drop a teaspoon of chlorox in water topping the stained part and bring it to boiling level in a well ventilated kitchen (open windows and doors). By the time the water is boiling the stains are all gone!

    • @auntielaura5
      @auntielaura5 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I use baking soda too. Add enough water to cover the stains and a small handful of soda to the pot and put it on a high simmer/rolling boil for ~ 5 minutes. Once it is cool the stains come off easily, though it may take a couple of tries when they are baked-on. I’ve used this on pans that looked ready for the garbage and they ended up perfectly clean. I like the fact that I can have it boiling on the back of the stove while I’m doing other stuff. 😁

      I will also mention depending on what brand you have they can be exchanged under warranty. Le Creuset has an incredible lifetime warranty on their pieces. My mom had the enamel start to come off and staining after 15 years with it. She walked into the store to get a new one. They told her to bring in the old one instead. When she went in they swapped it for a new one right there! You can also do it through the mail according to another friend who just did it.

No timetables, no stress and a family that loves to be involved without the lure of the legal tender, which at the end of the day would question the sincerity of the motives involved. Guess that integrity is inherited from family values which have no market value. Love, love and love your genuine sincerity.

    Just an idea with the chicks. When we raised them and transferred from brooder to tractor and back we made 'catch box'. Just a simple wire cage with a hatch door in one end same size and height as tractor and brooder hatch from the ground and cut a hatch door in brooder and tractor with pull up doors doors so it would match up with the catch box door and herded chicks to the corner, into the catch box, slid hatch doors down and carried box-o-chicks out to the tractor. Bringing them in at night reversed the process. It was easier to herd them into the hatch doors in the corner than to chase and catch them and less stress on the chicks and saved a heck of a lot of time chasing and catching them. We'd do about 50 chicks at a time in just a few minutes.
    Love your vids and the humor makes it better... Always good to look on the lighter sides of things when it goes to plan 'D'.... lol
