If Johnny hadn't insisted on the cameras, I think most people would just assume he's the aggressor and he had better lawyers. I think that's exactly WHY he insisted on the cameras. his goal is to clear his name and try to reassemble his reputation. But a trial behind closed doors wouldn't have helped him at all. He needed everyone to see the evidence and hear the testimonies so we can all know he is innocent of what that evil woman accused him of.

I completely agree! The MSM would have spun it and corrupted the facts in amber’s favor and we wouldn’t have known any different. Just like the UK trial. In fact, in the beginning they tried that but since we could see the truth for ourselves and pushed back, they were forced to be more honest.

Also, seeing is believing. Camille did a great job using her cross to show the jury what kind of person Johnny was dealing with; showing how much Amber lies and won't admit that she's wrong, using manipulative word play to try and psychologically/emotionally abuse other people.

Having cameras inside the court room was the best thing JD did in this case. In the court of public opinion he’s already won regardless of the verdict from the op ed.

      Very good point….
But I also think Johnny has to own his own abusive verbal and written
comments, which legally ARE considered abusive….
No one is innocent here, but AH is NOT owning ANY
of her abuses…..very very sad (albeit Fascinating)

The saddest part of this case for me is that because Johnny is so rich and famous, I think people (even supporters) are overlooking just how bad the abuse he received was. Yes, he isn’t a saint, but Amber left the relationship basically unscathed. In a year and a half, Depp suffered actual physical abuse based on the black eye photos, lost the tip of his finger, lost 600m, lost his mom, lost his reputation, lost his jobs. The fact that he still has the emotional strength to smile is so impressive to me. I’m so glad to see him progressively smile more and more throughout the trial. Amber deserves every bit of hostility she has received, she is a truly vile human being.

Agree completely! Also makes me really scared of how much effort, time and money it took Johnny to get to this point where we can all see what truly happened. How many men are out there in the same shoes that don't have millions to spend on a lawsuit and the gift of bad acting and obvious lies on the other side. How many men (and women) have no way to legally fight back and win? 🥺

    • @PillagingGinger
      @PillagingGinger 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

@@ada_pink such an excellent point! So true. But the huge plus that came from this case is that it exposed all those points you brought up. I really hope this will change how these trials are perceived and men and women will have an equal shot. Sadly, I think it’s a step in that direction, but I’m not sure we will ever get there.

Loved the first Pirates film, primarily for the gorgeous Keira but thought Johnny had invented a great and hilarious character. But NOW I will support him given her accusations of wild and exceedingly violent abuse based on NOTHING.

I am recently in Johnny Depp's position. Even though we never hit each other, (both of us are 52 years old) she falsely accused me of DV to break up with me and have me removed from her house. fortunately for me, she lied so badly, even though it was totally believed by the cops at the time, I had video proof of her lies and there were never charges filed. But, before I got everything to the DA she also filled a TRO and LIED AGAIN, stating the same lies, easily disproven by video, again. But I moved out before she returned to house that we both lived in and I supported for 4 years, and became homeless in a sense. I'm a disabled veteran with combat PTSD, and am still on SSA disability. She tried to "love bomb" me on the morning, came back to pick up gloves for her work in a salon that I BOUGHT FOR HER on Amazon, then left, saying, "I love you!!".
Later that night the police showed up to arrest me but I was at the neighbors house and watched them on the Xfinity cameras.
      That was on January 21.
Last week I went to the RO hearing and even though I proved she was lying, again, STRAIGHT TO THE JUDGES FACE, he granted another 6 months of temp RO, and then it'll be gone. But she's now selling her house and the court allowed her to ghost me, while she's been selling off my piano, pool table, sheds and tool racks in the garage.
I can't afford to hire an attorney like Johnny Depp, but I keep trying to find a way to get a lawyer to help me. It's patently clear that she lied about everything. But I still don't know what to do about it. In another 3 months I'll be homeless, but she's going to profit on all the work I've done on her house and the housing prices have almost doubled in her area of Modesto, California.
I really wish I had some help!! I havea landmark case!! Bulletproof!! I have phone records that prove she's lying, text messages, and the videos of everything that happened that day.
Damn my life sucks. Anyone can tear your life apart with lies.

My ex abused me for an additional 12 years via the court system after I finally left the abusive relationship. The additional damage that the court system allowed him to put our children through was disgusting all because a lawyer wanted to make the big bucks by throwing noodles at the wall to see if they could get anything to stick. He spent $76k versus my $3k in our last court action, which he lost. Abusers will continue to abuse if allowed.

That's the nature of Histrionc Personality Disorder & actually a cormobity in Cluster B Disorders.
My own mother is Cluster B which is why I took a nursing specialty in psych wards. You never get answers from these people & my mother was a Mommy Dearest. She is so bad that I always used to describe her as Cinderella's stepmother & she even looks JUST like her. I never said this in front of my kids though because I was terrified they'd say it in front of her, especially if I wasn't there to protect them. When my oldest was 6 she put Cinderella in & my 3 yr old son just lost it. He started bawling & screaming he didn't want to watch the Mommom Movie.
I never told them any of what she did to me when I was little, this was from HIS experience of my mother & she refused to babysit him but he would take my oldest who looked JUST like me even when I would tell her she couldn't. This woman is a piece of work.
What my mother has actually been diagnosed with is Histrionic & Malignant Narcissist. This woman LOVES to ruin milestone moments, holidays, birthdays weddings etc but her favorite is a funeral. Depending on who died she will openly bad mouth then at their own funeral. Other tines she will covertly start something with the surviving spouse or kids. Then she will covertly go start shit aimed at them with a select few people at the funeral. When my father died she refused to even tell his siblings & I that Hospice had been called in. I only knew because someone they didn't know I knew saw my abusive ex husband going into my dad's ICU room & called me to let me know mom had called him to my dad's deathbed & was treating him like we'd never divorced. As horrible as out divorce was because it was a DV case she found this very odd.
She had NO IDEA that she wasn't just missing me when I visited, I had no idea my dad was dying because I had gone no contact with my whole family EXCEPT my father's siblings for 13 years. And THAT'S why she refused to tell them their brother was dying. She punished them for daring to defy her & not believe her lies about me.
To make this worse my father was the 1st of his siblings to pass away.
The way I learned he died was I walked in my cousin's salon for a hair appointment & he said "I'm sorry to hear about your dad, mom showed me his obituary this morning" I replied "Well you're the only family member to let me know he died."
Against my objections that I REALLY didn't even need to see the obit he made his mother bring me a copy & she read it to me while he was coloring my hair.
She wrote my name wrong & omitted 1 of my children completely.
I didn't go to his funeral & neither did his siblings because of what she did. They chose not to go because Dad had Alzheimer's, he didn't remember any of them, they had a chance to say goodbye years before he actually died. And they all KNEW she was going to be bad mouthing me thru it all. They chose to circle the wagons around me & I'll forever be grateful they did.
BECAUSE they did that & also chose to tell her that since their brother was gone they no longer have to tolerate her, she's not family anymore it's been THE catalyst for her undoing.
This is a small town & everytime they run into someone that badmouths me & them for not showing up they set the record straight. Right down to telling them I moved back from DENVER to care for my father when he hit stage 3 of Alzheimer's. I was the ONLY child that took any type of care providing for him until she falsely accused me of something SHE did to my dad when I wasn't even there & threatened to call adult protection & the cops which is her famous power move. It happened overnight when just the 2 of them were there. She threatened to ruin my 28 year career because I called her out on an injury he couldn't have given himself.
THAT'S the level these Histrionic Personality Disorder people go to if you dare challenge them or dare to get away from them. They set out to not just punish you, they want to annihilate you completely. They shatter any chance you would have of a support system.
It's quite literally enough to drive you insane.
The best thing to remember about abusive types like this is broken people break people & they enjoy doing it. By the time we try to leave we long ago passed the point of when we should have done it. We can't tolerate anymore.
But they are leveling up the game & it enjoying it.

Considering she started her story with how she was slapped across the face for laughing at the Wino Forever tattoo, the recordings didn't make sense, especially the one of her taunting and cackling at him. If he would lose control at anything she said and she was so fearful of him, where was the sound of a slap or beating in that recording? It just doesn't add up at all, plus I completely agree that a victim would not be taunting their abuser like that. It's really the other way around. She also sounded really drunk or something in the cackling recording. I think it was also very disingenuous for Heard and her team to completely erase her own drug and alcohol use during the relationship. I get it, though, since the angle they went with here was "he was high and drunk, therefore he doesn't remember anything" and had they been honest about her own drug and alcohol use, then they'd be creating a double standard.

The three things that convinced me she’s lying is 1. Her testimony style seemed insincere. 2. She altered the photo. 3. She altered the cabinet video. AH's lawyers/Elaine seem perfectly okay using every slimey lawyer trick in the book and a few unethical tricks too. Of course, I feel a little bad for Elaine on this day of her reckoning, but she was all smiles cashing in on the AH train for years while destroying JD's life and livlihood without a thought or a care. O M G
I cannot BELIEVE I listened to an over two-hour stream by lawyers about a court case. Is anyone with me here?
What’s more? IT WAS FASCINATING and EDUCATIONAL and SUCH an EXCELLENT glimpse into how lawyers “are”. I no longer see ALL lawyers as elitist and sketchy and always looking to take your money without letting you know how they will do it. That. Is. An achievement. This discussion (and those like it) about the Heard is Guilty case has done MORE for my understanding of how FAIR our judicial system CAN be when properly administered by stellar attorneys and a fair and just judge.
    Just. Wow.
In the Midwest (where I grew up) they eliminated civics class (how to behave in society). It shows in our current America: No one has been taught and held accountable for civility. Also, my US government class learnings escape me. This renders almost ANYONE who isn’t an attorney CLUELESS when they find themselves in a “legal situation”. If anyone has had the misfortune of being involved in a court case…you are bobbing in a puny life boat praying for calm seas and you’ve never seen water before let alone the sea.
    I digress.
My point: I actually have a CLUE how all this legal stuff plays out now-because of streams like this.
See! The “interwebs” can bring real live humans together for good stuff.
    Great job.

Eggshells are an aspect of it, but not the whole picture. But more than anything it’s helped me stop blaming myself. Seeing the reaction from the public towards Johnny, and all the support pouring out, it really warms my heart. I’ve certainly projected myself onto this trial as I’m sure many have, and there are a lot of parallels between what I went through and what Johnny went through. And I also had a very hard time being believed. But I now know that if I was in the same position Johnny was right now I’d have an outpouring of support. And be believed. So as hard as it’s been it’s been wonderful to see. It feels like Johnny’s victory is a win for all of us, and a condemnation of all the gaslighters that flip the narrative and claim that they’re the ones being abused. As far as I’m concerned Johnny has already won, WE have won, no matter the verdict. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
I’ve had two people in my life exactly like AH - one was a long term step parent (the therapy I’ve had to do to reclaim my self….) not to mention the actual SA I’ve experienced… and then come to find out that the story about SA belonged to the former assistant? AH is literally the worst kind of human imaginable. People with BPD/ NPD/ histrionic (cluster B personality disorders) will go to the ends of the earth to destroy you - EVEN IF you play their game, they STILL want to destroy you. They get off on it.
It’s starts with the love bombing “oh JD I looooove you so much. You’re the most amazing ever!” Which is the first part of the idealization phase. Then the devaluation begins and the smear campaign (of the victim) which is why she took so many shitty pictures. Now that this phase has begun, nothing he can do is right but she’s too insecure to let him go. “Don’t go Johnny I just want a hug. I love you Johnny!” She knew though, that someday, somehow, she’d use the pics against JD, even if it was just to show people around her, in order to tarnish his reputation so they’d be on board with her. Her “flying monkeys”. But she’s not done. It’s like a dog who doesn’t
k!££ the rat it finds in the yard. It WANTS the rat to fight back a bit, over and over and over again, because it LIKES the process of the K!££ so it keeps the game going to satisfy it’s prey drive. And all the while, the gaslighting continues so that the victim (JD), will be told that that process isn’t actually happening. Of course mot, because “I love you Johnny. I just want to help you with your addiction. (But I won’t bother to get sober while we live together. You’re on your own”.
AH isn’t getting work because she’s a nightmare. She didn’t need JD to “destroy her career” - she barely had one to start with.
AH is the most despicable abuser I’ve seen in many years. I continue to watch because I’m so hopeful that JD will get the public exoneration that he deserves.

I know others have spoken on the comraderie of Johnny's entire team and how they seem like family vs. the very island like, disjointed front that AH and her team present. Specifically, what he told the jury was that what JD cares about is the jury’s responses to Qs 2,3, &4 (out of 7 Qs). Basically, he told them that even if they determine that JD hasn’t met his burden on all elements, if they JUST answer Yes to those 3 questions, then that is enough for JD. The best thing about closing statements is we got to listen to Johnny Depp’s story without the millions of objections from Amber Heard’s attorney’s. AH’s council objected so much during the trial I couldn’t necessarily follow what happened and Camille’s closing statement helped me better understand the timeline of events which seemed very premeditated by Amber from her TMZ photo op at the courthouse to her ridiculous op ed. Camille Vasquez closing statements was a work of art. God bless her she’s a super star!!

This. Unfortunately, Amber Heard said she never remembered anything in chronological order, but even moreso was that the defense didn't tell her story in chronological order either. However, this was because if they told AH's story in chronological order, nothing would've made sense. Which begs the question: Does the defense team have the same memory lapse that AH claims to have, and if they don't, why don't the go through the evidence in order of A-Z?

I hope the jury sees what most see. She's very confrontational and never backs down from a fight no matter the issues she's facing. She lies profusely on little things and things that really matter. She forces other to do her bidding or the person gets it. She's been going after Depp for years. Now he stands up for himself, she says leave me alone. That's what Depp wants. He wants her to leave him alone and stop mis-characterising him in the media.
She's so hung up on her image. Can't take it when a single negative thing is about her.

As a person who has endured abuse from a ex Narcissistic, Johnny is definitely the victim. Amber on the other hand is a total different entity when listening to her along with her body language she made me feel physically sick. It was like I was back in the room with my ex Narc, I couldn’t listen to her for very long & had to turn off the sound she made me feel physically sick. Looking at Johnny I can see the pain he has endured at the hands of AH it’s very telling to another victim. I think only those who’ve been the victim of people like AH can see the pain in other victims faces. It was also harrowing listening to Johnny. AH is definitely a Narcissist she definitely has something very wrong up top as all Narcs do. These type of perpetrators leave devastation and destruction after every relationship they have, they virtually kill the souls of their victims. I’ve been single since 2012 and still recovering to date. Worst of all I went from a healthy, outgoing happy lady with a house, job, car, to someone who had 2 nervous breakdowns ending in no job, because of the financial abuse lost my home, I was diagnosed with ME, Fibromyalgia, several other health conditions including breast cancer.
An abused person would never be as confident or be able to go into a court like AH and put on a performance like she did NO WAY, mentally it would be impossible. What little I did watch of her no way was there any truth coming from her mouth. I can tell a liar having lived with a Narcissistic. It was sickening to see. I hope Johnny gets the justice he seeks and deserves as for AH the cuffs should be put on her wrists for perjury. Obviously AH will be blaming everybody else but in actual reality she only has herself to blame, all the bad social media she’s enduring now is the result of her own actions that she created herself.
AH is her own worst enemy Who I think actually believes her own lies as narcissist’s do. Narcissists like AH are very dangerous people.

Well said... I relate in every way, including being disgusted by AH to the point of nausea. Watching her horrible acting & listening to her make things up as she spoke. It was/is an insult to victims, survivors & everyone's intelligence for her to believe she's coming across as sincere. I also have ME & several other health issues too. The abuse escalated the last year or so of trying to get away from him completely. It caused my ME to go from manageable to being fully disabled with severe ME , home & bed bound, tube fed, & more. After tons of extremely hard work basically having to treat myself due to lack of doctors familiar with the disease where I live. I've had some improvements now considered to have severe ME rather than very severe. I have no doubt in my mind, or my gut, that if I had stayed I'd have been killed. If not by his abuse directly, it would've been from my health declining so rapidly as a result of the abuse. As a PWME, I know first hand the extra challenge added. I'm so happy to know you got through it.
Sending you love, light, & many many blessings for your continued healing. xx

Elaine was quite disrespectful towards some people on her closing. She referred to Paul Bettany as JD’s “Drug Buddy”, and I found that to be extremely distasteful. Paul Bettany a family man, married to actress Jeniffer Connelly for years. If he does drugs with JD or not is no one business, but she can’t prove nor assume that’s the case, and to refer to him as another drug addicted was pretty bad. That’s defamation right there.

I heard JD raise his voice once or twice in the recordings, and I heard AH crying, or sounding 'distressed' once.
What I DIDN'T hear, was JD raising his voice CAUSING AH to cry, or get upset, or get scared or distressed in any way.
The times JD became loud, AH was louder, nastier, and more confrontational.
Alternately, the times AH cried, JD was calmly talking, saying he wanted to leave, or "let's stop and talk again in the morning", etc, etc.
You CAN'T take the result (AH crying) of one argument, and confuse it with the events of a DIFFERENT argument (one where JD raised his voice).
She was NEVER scared or intimidated by JD in ANY of the arguments they had, quite the opposite, she was provocative and confrontational.
This is probably a poor analogy but ......
If a couple have the type of 'intimate' relationship where they engage in acts that require a 'safe word'.
Then if they BOTH agree, that's not abuse.
However, if one partner isn't 'in the mood' and the other partner insists, that IS abuse.
Even though it is the same two people.
Likewise, if your partner calls you a:
"old f#*king, washed up, fat piece of sh!t, etc, etc".
    And you retaliate:
"You're a dirty f#*king, no good stinking whore, etc, etc"
That's NOT abuse, because BOTH parties have decided to throw reason out the window, and instead unload on each other and let off some steam.
It CANNOT be abuse if both parties are participating.
(You may tell them that "This doesn't solve anything", and things of that nature but, at the end of the day, it's THEIR relationship and if that's how they make it work, then it's nobodies business but theirs).
Abuse is when ONE party forces the other party to participate in something (physical or verbal) that they don't want to be part of.
And from what I've seen in this trial, it was AH who constantly forced JD into arguments he did not want to be part of.
    THAT is abuse.
I worry that the jury may, incorrectly, make a correlation between the OUTCOME of one confrontation (AH crying), and the events of a different confrontation (one where JD raised his voice), and conclude that JD was abusive.
If AH isn't made accountable for ALL her perjury and sent to jail, it will be a travesty of justice

Honestly, I'm a middle-age, well spoken English woman, (who clearly likes cats and crafts), and I use the 'c' word quite liberally. I have also been know to explete some other quite colourful phrases and insults, amongst close friends only. All Depp's obscenities were expressed to his mates and people he trusted. AH team was trying to shock a jury with foul language, but I hope it backfired. I mostly giggled at the shit-talk, it was just venting and proves nothing about what someone did or didn't actually do.

I was a victim of DV for 13 years and this triggered me in most of this trial ,
I was depressed and withdrawn didn’t want to talk to anyone in the end because it was constant and people were getting sick of me ringing them in asterisks and crying. So u stop telling anyone. And I had kids so I used to get kids out and try be normal but dreaded going back into the house , because I didn’t know wether he would be drunk or high . But I’d never speak to him like Amber did because that would escalate things . You feel like your walking on egg shells all day . I was so tired and exhausted because I was constantly having to watch what I was doing and saying even just using my phone would kick him off !! Who you txting ? Boom 💥 he is off. Johnny seems more of the victim she seems to sly and manipulative to me . The lies she told if you were really abused you wouldn’t have to lie. And you remember everything believe me.

I was married to and then mercifully divorced an 'Amber Heard'. She had all the characteristics and more displayed by Heard. I was the victim of domestic and emotional abuse, and I was subjected to several episodes of violence. I told no-one for the sake of my children. I know exactly how JD suffered, and I recognise the pathological lying he had to endure, just as I had to. I recount much of this in my memoir 'Surgeon in the Raw' (amazon) and the similarities are breath taking. My account is verified by a detailed diary and recordings of my ex-wife's rants and rages. She vilified, denigrated and humiliated me in the Sun once again similar to JD) and other newspapers for over 2 weeks getting paid a considerable sum for her life story. From my own experience, I can almost guarantee that AH is the product of what I consider, is a very debilitating personality disorder and JD made a bad choice, just as I did

Interesting that in Australia the Oped would never have been allowed to be published in the first place, due to privacy laws, unless JD had already been criminally charged. Also def no cameras in the court room, and jurors identities are always protected, for their own security also. And they can't profit later off the case by writing a book etc. And jurors get a proper wage for jury duty.
