    Eve did belong in jail for this. There were multiple times Amber's side should have been sanctioned or punished in some manner. If I had one criticism of Judge A, it's that she let Amber's side get away with every slimy, dirty, underhanded trick they pulled.

    • @ingiford175

      Giving Amber's side the extra leeway, help removes any chance of that side being able to claim unfair in appeals.

    • @Dot_Eleven

      While I do believe that Judge A could've punished AH's side a lot more for a lot of shit they did, I think she pulled back so there could be NO excuses for bias at the end. Granted, they did STILL try to make it act like there was bias, but anyone who watched the trial could see that they were given PLENTY of leeway.

    • @renx81
      @renx81 ปีที่แล้ว +36

      I think she understood the case well enough to know that she could give the defendant's side plenty of leeway without really affecting the outcome of the trial. In the end, after a lengthy and hugely publicized trial such as this one, the judge just wants to cover all the bases, because she knows all kinds of appeals are coming after the trial is over no matter what.

    There were sly sidebar activities, in my opinion, all through the case (as far as I've got in the transcripts). In one instance Elaine was determined to get one guy off the jury because he kept 'waving at Mr Depp and communicating with him'. Only Team Heard kept seeing this alleged 'communication' even though the Court was keeping a specific eye on that Juror due to the initial claim. Turns out he 'waved' to whole courtroom and said 'Good Morning' every day. Not to Depp specifically at all.
    He later ended up getting removed because of health issues and Elaine behaved like she'd scored a goal. She heavily implied the alternate to replace him should be the one of her choice, in opposition to the Court's initial suggestion of randomly picking from the alternate list. Eventually the Court just says the new juror will be the one Elaine wanted. Made no difference in the end, AH still didn't win. 😂

    I just love the karma of it all. AH's team got a witness removed by shady tactics with an old post and if it weren't for that, Judge A wouldn't have every asked her if she had seen any posts.
    Meanwhile, JD's team got Barlow removed with nothing but the truth and AH's team, despite really trying for some godforsaken reason, had no argument against it. She was texting, she was conversing with the legal team, she was on her phone. She was doing all the things they said she was doing and yet Bredehoft was STILL trying to make an argument over why she should still be allowed. I also really liked "Miss Barlow doesn't come through security" and Bredehoft acts like she was completely unaware that Eve Barlow was barred, despite being in the prior argument getting her barred.

    When court went on break, it was more than apparent that Amber, her team, and her witnesses had not only watched all the covered but also read all of the internet comments that busted her on lies and they changed their testimony to show such. It was so blatant that as soon as she was called to the stand by Elaine, she was asked each of the questions that proved her a liar over and over again and also tmz was fed information during the break by Amber too.

      She never really got a chance to testify to anything substantive. They were only a few questions in to her testimony and they were still just asking her basic foundation laying questions. So while the jury still heard her, there was really nothing to hear because opposing counsel was successful in getting her testimony cut off before it really started.

    • @Poppy-zm2yh
      @Poppy-zm2yh ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If I remember correctly, she didn't testify anythin usefull. She was only able to say she took drugs with Depp a number of times, which only depicted him further as the drug addict. The point they were trying to make, I think, is that even though she saw Depp of heavy drugs, she never witnessed him being violent. Which considering Heard claimed he would become a monster while on drugs, would have been useful, but because the testimony was cut short, instead of saying "JD is not violent when he does drugs" she was only able to say "JD does drugs", so maybe it would have been better she didn't testify at all.

No reason to excuse her at that point. But would be one more mark against AH's team for not fact-checking and surely JD's attorney's would've proceeded as they did to get her kicked out. Elaine was right, Eve is clearly not a journalist with this messy behavior.

      @@mashpojayde-o She was at the wedding in Australia where Amber had drugs as part of the party (they gave Gina molly), and her husband previously testified in the UK trial. Until the testimony was struck, she was acting as character witness to Johnny. An interview has her verifying that she never saw him be violent to Amber, and in fact was being isolated by the "sociopathic show pony" Amber and her friends. And during the wedding, Amber was grilling her and trying to sus out whether Gina would "really fight" (meaning physically fight?) with her husband Steven.
      Steven Deuters testified in the UK trial that he was in the flight where Amber alleged that Johnny kicked her and planted his boot in her back while she was down; he was there and saw Amber get increasingly aggressive at Johnny. He was with them on a trip to Tokyo and attested that she didn't look the least bit injured the day after she alleged that Johnny hit her. He wasn't present in the Australia incident with the finger but saw the injury a day later and could verify how bad it was and that Johnny was trying to hide the cause of it. He never heard Amber claim _during_ the relationship that Johnny was abusing her and saw no sign of it; he heard it along with everyone else when Amber was filing the TRO.

    Even without insight from the sidebars, it is blatantly obvious that Judge PA had the patience of an absolute saint throughout the case. There were several moments where you can physically hear her exasperation, yet she always remained polite and always gave people enough time and space to work with. I'm surprised she didn't start choking out attorneys during moments of repetitive grandstanting and testifying to the jury instead of asking proper questions. It's funny how "the court" and "social media" is apparantly to blame for Amber losing - yet there is no mention of the scummy subterfuge that was attempted to help her out on the side.
