  • You request...and you shall receive! Today we have a great comparison with Turtle Wax Seal N Shine and Fusso Coat Soft 99. Both Synthetic protectants. One a Synthetic Wax...One a synthetic sealant. Both are tenacious protectants and will be entertaining to see which one outlasts the other.
    Fusso Coat Soft 99....www.amazon.com/s?k=fusso+coat...
    Turtle Wax Seal N Shine.....www.amazon.com/s?k=Turtle+Wax...
    Detailing can be a confusing task if you don’t know how to differentiate one auto product from another, like sealant and wax. So, in this article, we’ll discuss sealant vs. wax.
    Sealants and waxes are both similar in terms of what they do; one just does a certain aspect better than the other.
    Auto paint sealant is more notable for its fantastic durability and protection (imagine an invisible shield) while a car wax is a favorite for keeping your car super sleek and shiny.
    Until today there are still many avid car enthusiasts still debate whether car sealant or wax is better.

      Great vid brian, would love to see these two battle it out against the most expensive car waxes out there. To me like i said both clear winners... at the end of the day its what we as consumers look for... either visual enhancement or protection and these two have both! Goes to show that expensive is not always better!

      Protection Point= Fusso! I'd like to think for the price it should win BUT as so many other videos have shown TW beats down many products more expensive.

    Don't rush it......... Fusso says apply and leave for 10-15 mins until it hazes over and then don't get wet for 24 hours for the best results.

      That’s to long
      The trick is to apply the thinnest amount possible
      A can should do about 25-30 cars
      If you apply it very very thin it flashes quickly and is much easier to wipe off with no residue and no high spots.

    Interesting video! My vote goes for TW: 75% cheaper, far easier to apply, does not stain trims with white paste, no cure time and in real-world applications, is comparably durable and hydrophobic. I don't think you can reasonably give the win to Fusso considering the points above. I would love to see how these products handle dust and water-spotting, those two considerations would likely sway me if compared.

    Loving these videos Brian and clearly both excellent products, but in this one you gotta give ease of use to TW!! I'd also like to see the decon products agitated maybe with a detailing brush after each application prior to dwell and rinse off (but maybe that's showing my ignorance about the way these products would typically be used!) Keep up the good work!! 👍🏻😊

  • @ricksierra6145
    @ricksierra6145 5 ปีที่แล้ว +71

    Sorry Brian, but I disagree on ease of use. The Fusso you have to be careful not to get it on plastic and in between panels. As for the Turtle wax you don't have to be as careful. Maybe that point should have gone to Turtle wax. Just my opinion, either way great video

    Top marks to turtle wax for such a good product at that price point but fusso coat nails it here from the start. It's, water beading and sheeting is unmatched. And also in the long run a tin of fusso coat works out way cheaper than TW you would have to buy alot of bottles of TW to match the amount of coats you would get out of just 1 tin of fusso.

    Hi Brian, another point you could out on your white board is depth of colour (UK) at 6:29 you can clearly see the TW side has a deeper colour. Also the fact that Fusso leaves residue on the edge would for my mind make the application of the TW slightly easier so a win for TW.

  • @jdisdetermined

    Wow that is very close. Fusso seemed to maintain beading a bit better. But water is awful in my area, I want sheeting over everything in most cases, which S&S is incredible at. So I'd still choose S&S. Neither ran away with it. The Fusso is literally 5 times the price of S&S, but it is definitely not 5 times better..
    I've been a huge Ice spray wax fan and eagerly awaited the arrival of S&S. To say it exceeded expectations is an understatement. The way it is shaking things up and making everyone pay attention is great for the industry, especially us, the end users buying the products..

    Fusso coat wins, but pound for pound there is NO contest! Seal N Shine punches WAY WAY WAY ABOVE IT'S WEIGHT CLASS SIMPLY BECAUSE ITS 6$ AT WALMART. 9.99 AT ITS MOST EXPENSIVE! It's a phenomenal product for what you pay vs what it does. It's my 100% go to! My number one. If it was 25$ then it would still be very good, but not quite as good a value. As it stands it is one of the most durable products out there period. Then when you add in the price point??? It's a welterweight with the power of a heavyweight! Value proposition is not solely based on price, but on performance for the price! That's why Seal N Shine is the Pound for Pound King!!!! Great job Turtle wax for blowing us away with your amazing product! Just wish it smelled better!

    Tough call on which provided better protection - either one would be a good choice. It is difficult to tell by watching how much the slope of the panel may influence the test: Fusso appears to be on a more horizontal (or flat) part of the panel, which makes it not shed the water as well as the Turtle Wax. Watching the water bead and sheet of the Turtle wax side makes it appear better.
    I would call the entire test a draw. The gloss meter gave the nod to Fusso, but in reality can anyone see a 1 point difference?

    Great review by Apex. But I have a question regarding ease of application,they both seem to be easy to apply but Fusso requires 5-10 minutes wait. I think the point should go to TW. And also when it comes to hydrophobic test, do you look for more beading or water repellant properties by not leaving much water on surface therefore less spotting?

  • @Rudigity
    @Rudigity 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I own both of these and to be honest the TW S&S wins hands down. Fusso coat has superior beading, but it's a huge pain to apply, and remove, good luck not getting it on your trim also cause it's a nightmare to get it off. I'm using TW S&S on glass and trim, then Meguiar's Fast Finish on the paint(even easier to apply than S&S) repeat application every couple months and it's awesome. You can keep the Fusso coat, IMO

    Great video! I can’t pronounce myself on the last vote because the comparison test should have been done on the slope side of the panel for both products. TW being applied on the sloping side of the panel surely will allow the water to bead faster while Fusso being on the flat side do retain water more. Do you agree? Which product is better? Well it’s hard to say. Both is good, but TW is more convenient to use as it’s in a bottle.

    I must say both are stubborn when coming to the harsh test you gave it. Both are truly amazing products. After viewing both behaviors of each product they are both awesome in coming to protection. In my view i gave the fusso soft 99 the win due its gloss, durability and protection. The turtle wax is not far behind its so close. But if u are looking at cost. The turtle wax give you value for money. For gloss, protection and water beading in over all fusso soft 99 takes win. I have both products, but for some reason, fusso coating stands out more on my white car, and seems to last longer than TW in real world conditions in the UK. the beading is incredible months after and it really looks like the car has protection. Agree that we need to be more careful when applying, but the results are worth it. Fusso is 3 times the price in the UK but can easily cover at least 3 times the amount of cars.

    Tough to call a winner. I know turtlewax is only 6$ but how many applications do you get out of the bottle vs a 30$ can of fusso? As for slickness that's subjective as I have both of these and have tried them side by side and to me fusso is definitely slicker while the TW has more of a sio2/coating feel.
    Also the chemical resistance is great but I find that real world driving with road debris and grime is what will kill these products more than chemicals. I applied TW to my wife's car after polishing . She does 400 miles a week and 3 weeks it was pretty toast on the lower areas which I what I was expecting. But a quick reapplication and all was good.
    Both awesome products! Great work on the videos!!

    No doubt about it, turtle wax Seal and shine, over the Fusso. Although both are very good. Looks like Seal and shine took the edge.
    At the end less water remained on the Seal and Shine side, repelling off panel more quickly, And less water remaining.

  • @rwmagnus
    @rwmagnus 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    When sheeting water with the hose be mindful of the panel angles. On one side one us up the slope and the other down the slope. It’s pretty much a tie but TW looks like its sheeting a bit better telling me there is a little more protection.

  • @2010stoof
    @2010stoof 5 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    Maybe I'm off here, but fusso had better beading from the start. So if you're going by how much protection was lost from start to finish I'd say they almost tied.
    Fusso was heading like crazy at the beginning and lost a little by the end. Seal and shine was more sheeting at the beginning and the sheeting by the end slowed a bit.
    I say they both wom that. Relatively speaking.
    If you liked how seal and shine behaved with water at the start, then it won. If you liked how fusso coat beaded at the beginning fusso won.
    They both retained their own characteristics throughout and both lost some relative to what they started with

    • @anguslean4058

      When you see the Fusso start sheeting instead of insane beading it’s only half done
      If you do it right 9-12 months for sure on the Fusso
      A can should get you between 25-30 applications
      Which comes down to a dollar a year
      Trick with Fusso is that you have to apply it amazingly thin
      Thin
      Thinner
      Thinnest
      It will flash quickly
      Wipe off much easier
      No high spots
      And wax residue

    I prefer wax over ceramic cause ceramic especially H9 must be wet sanding after a couple of years to remove so bye bye clear coat also the same for the scratches from ceramic.

    TW Ice Seal & Shine for the win... It's the star of 2019 in my book... It's works, no false claims, AND it's freakin $6.97 USD at Walmart (Houston, Tx)... PLUS no residue, and you can use it on trim, glass, etc.

    Hi Brian. Are these products actually a sealant or are they a wax? I thought the Fusskcoat was a synthetic sealer but called the wax? Also from what I saw and read about Fusso, it requires a 5 to 15 minute curing time before the buff off. Do you think that would’ve made a difference with your results or was there a time lapse we missed?

    There’s a newer improved version of fusso coat the winner for me is seal and shine due to ease of application . Iv seen someone do a dry application of megs hybrid ceramic spray and it was improved can you put it through the test 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

    Thanks for making the video. It was exactly what I needed to see. I will say this.... Im annoyed that fusso is still better because it still requires more prep and clean up. I think I may just replace the fusso since tw seal and shine seems a lot easier to apply. Honestly, at the price it is, I would just do a light coat every other wash. With the ease of application, I'm more likely to do it more often and maybe build a better protection coat

    Brian, I currently have beadmaker over my properly corrected paint. I'd like to try the TWS&S. Do I need to get the beadmaker off before applying the S&S? If so, could I use some totally awesome to remove? I find the beadmaker doesn't last long at all.... Thanks!

    So Fusso beads better and TW sheets better (maybe?) and at this point, with all that unreal abuse I'd kind of say it's a toss up. A slight edge doesn't really matter because who would not already be giving their car some love by then. So as I mentioned before, price. Would a tin of Fusso last as long as 5 bottles of TW? Seems it would with how little is needed. So I'm gonna say... tie. Fusso if you want to sound impressive and TW if you don't care how you sound. Or re-bottle the TW and call it your ancient Chinese secret.

  • @brianowens2943

    You have to say both were excellent I would say some coatings wouldn't last as long tw has beat a lot of competition but fusso had that bit more beading how would they compare against a consumer coating

    Would using Optimum to wash the car Hyde the performance of TW shine n seal?
    I washed the car then used ONR buffet it off and then applied TW seal n shine but it don’t look so hydrophobic so wondering if ONR degraded the hydrophobic power of TUrtle Wax.
    I used ONR so the water would not dry and cause water spots. And for the clay lubricant.

    Fusso Coat’s now on Amazon for about $30. And TW Seal N Shine is sold out but is going for around $6. Seriously the amount of protection you get from each product is ridiculously high value for so little money. I’ll throw in CQuartz UK 3,0 here too for ~$54 for 30ml and it goes to show you don’t need to spend crazy money to keep your car’s paint nice.

  • @klasseact6663

    Because this test is so close you have to split hairs and IMO the ease of use has to go to TW purely because it's a spray. Surely Fusso goes on and off easily, as does TW (just used TWSS for the first time last night) The TW basically buffed off while I was applying it AND it was laid over the top of 2 week old DPC Armor, just can't help myself from layering.
    A little side note, my car got dumped on twice yesterday, once sitting in the rain and next driving in the rain and I swear to God that there only dirt up under mynside skirt with DPC Armor🕶
