      On a serious note I find it funny you are looking for originality while commenting on a pro wrestling video?
      I am a big fan too but there is no originality, what will be the Wrestlemania main event?
      HHH of course, never seen that before.
      And I take it you won't be queuing up to see Fast and Furious 26 or Star Wars episode 15?
      I am sorry but you are in the minority looking for originality in this day and age.

    I gotta agree that Titus made a critical mistake in playing around with VKM on live tv but the suspension was uncalled for....Vince should of just talked to Titus like a man in the back & let him know the deal & no hard feelings but I do believe VKM wanted to flex his power & make an example out him out of spite.....so when he does come back will be doomed to jobbing for as long as he remains in WWE

  • @DarylWiseJr
    @DarylWiseJr 8 ปีที่แล้ว +22

    Actually Teddy, Vince did want to fire Titus for this. HHH and Joey Mercury talked him down to a 90 day suspension that then turned into a 60 day suspension. Considering this fact, I do believe that racism was involved. If Vince never wanted to initially fire Titus, then I wouldn't think race would of been in the equation.

  • @stefanyordanov2885
    @stefanyordanov2885 8 ปีที่แล้ว +24

    So Teddy says that it would have never happened with someone that's higher in the hierarchy. What about the Rock going off script a several weeks ago? Talking to the Hulk Hogan cosplayer? If anyone else would've done that, they would be fired immediately.
    Yes, Titus did not act professionally but he didn't deserve to be punished that hardly!

    • @dajinxxxx
      @dajinxxxx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Stefan Yordanov Exactly but he is the Rock. Do you know how much money Rock has made and done for the WWE? THE Rock and TItus O'neil are no comparison. You know its a double standard. WWE needs The Rock not vice versa so i doubt highley that anything would have happened to him. The Rock went off on his Raw appearance but he was in his hometown for one night and it wasnt as if he was on the main roster wrestling again doing that every night. He knew he could get away with the Hogan stuff. What was Vince going to do, Ban him from Wrestlemania. I doubt if Rock would have given a damn. He would have just went and made another movie.

  • @RiC_David
    @RiC_David 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Something to consider:
    I often hear people say things like "Everyone's saying it was racist" or "The fans on twitter are saying it was because he's black": what we need to ask every time is *how many people are saying this? What percentage?*
    Obviously we can only speculate but in the vast majority of cases most people are not saying it. With social media we are going to see examples of _everything_ - all the different perspectives and opinions imaginable are now out there.
    We seem to be inherently awful at gauging how prominent things are and typically default to attribute whatever we saw to the entire generalised mass e.g. "Everyone was outraged" and even though we don't literally mean everyone, we still suggest that it's widespread when usually the scandalous reaction comprises about 10% of the whole group. If 9 people had a great time but 1 person sulked the entire time, you wouldn't say "Everyone sulked"

    90 days was excessive. 30 days though, probably just setting an example for the boys .

  • @xGodofAcidx
    @xGodofAcidx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It wasn't reduced to 30 days. It was reduced to 60. That is very important, because that runs through Wrestlemania. Wrestlemania is the big payday of the year for everyone. So basically the 30 days that were taken off mean very little. It's a month of paychecks for Titus, so I suppose that has meaning to him, but the main point of the original suspension still stands: No Wrestlemania paycheck.

    I can understand Vince wanting to send a message to the talent about being professional but 60 days and not being able to participate in Wrestlemania is still a bit harsh. It was poor judgement for sure to horseplay on RAW with the boss but I've seen the footage and horseplay is all it was. Not to mention Titus is one of the company's best goodwill ambassadors, working with young kids as well as the homeless.

  • @dwell48
    @dwell48 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    In my opinion this was a race issue because had that been Triple H, John Cent or Shawn Michaels no punishment would have been served and another thing WWE still has not had a full black WWE champion. Now I know a lot of yall will say well Booker T was champion. Faarooq was champion and Mark Henry was a champion but pay attentuon. They wore either the WCW world championship or the world heavyweight championship which both belts are WCW belts. They are instated in the WWE but are originally WCW belts. For Teddy Long to say that Randy Orton and John Cent would not have done that because they know better still does not answer the question to if they had did the same thing that Titus O'Neil did. Teddy Long in my opinion is just giving the politically correct answer so he can still be on good terms with Vince McMahon and the WWE.

  • @Mr.Everything
    @Mr.Everything 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Teddy with the absolute best and most logical take on this situation by far! He wasn't the GM on Friday nights for nothing! The most pathetic part is the majority of people who start and perpetuate this stuff are these limp-wristed, domesticated white people that have no clue what they are talking about and don't understand what racism actually is. They seem to have forgot MLK himself said people SHOULD be judged by the CONTENT of their CHARACTER, but not by the color of their skin. The fact that someone does something stupid or wrong and are punished and the first thing people go for is what color they were shows who the true racists are that base everything off of someone's skin color. Also the video ended before he asked Teddy what he would have done to Titus had he done that to him which was, "Well, next week in the main event on SmackDown you are gonna gonna go one on one with da Undertaker! Holla!"

    I wish I knew if there is more to this story than what we have all seen. I understand that these are all ruff tuff people in a physical business, but every company I have ever worked for had a very low tolerance for threatening or physical contact between employees. These people put on a show in the ring but that only makes the code of conduct outside the ring even more important! In the recent years WWE has become a publicly traded company, that puts Vince answering to shareholders he did not do that 15 years ago. The whole civilized world has become super safety conscious and any type off horseplay in the work place is just off limits these days.

WWE created so much more heat with the suspension. Really stupid move.... Can they really effort to get good people off television? That is how WWE is celebrating black history month? The Problem why many people don't agree with that decision and think the racial thing has something to do with it is that Titus just grabbed is arm, he didn't make him fall or slaped him. And I never ever heard that someone was suspended for doing something like that. And I thought Daniel Bryan retirement should not be like a funeral, more like a goodbye party. So why on earth is there no time to "play"?

    Vince is completely in the wrong and Titus or anyone else whose had to deal with Vince's outlandish behavior over the years shouldn't just have to take that shit
    But WWE is the only place where you can make good money...wrestling monopoly...so they have to put up with it 😡
    ROH, TNA & Lucha Underground aren't great alternatives. It isn't like the Monday Night Wars or even the territories where if a promoter was on a ego trip, you could leave and go elsewhere for equal or better pay
    This just shows that one guy running everything is bad for business and Vince is a wrestling tycoon running a monopoly
