    Your hair color is GORGEOUS! I just recently dyed my hair with manic panic’s vampire red from being a light blonde, so you can imagine how bright my hair is (it’s straight up Little Mermaid Hair!) I really love that I did something so different to my hair, but I do want to tone it down a bit. What do you recommend? Should I go in with a permanent red shade on top of the manic panic? I want a darker shade while still keeping that vibrant undertone♥️

    • @VeronicaMarce
      @VeronicaMarce  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sounds so pretty! I honestly think if you just dye more of the vampire red on top (without diluting) that it should make it darker. It's a pretty dark shade so layering it should help! If you try it out let me know how it goes :)

    • @VeronicaMarce
      @VeronicaMarce  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I lightened it with the ion and 30 developer. If I didn't have virgin hair it wouldn't be able to lighten but I just keep lightening my virgin and it lifts enough for me to be able to put the red on. Your hair might be too dark. What would you recommend for a Merlot red wine ? I did a burgundy box dye a couple months ago and it faded to a coppery color. I want to get a permanent or demi permanent color. But I’m also open to semi , but I’ve heard that only last 3-6 washes. I’d say majority of my hair is a level 6 and the Virgin roots are about a 4.

      Do you think I can get the burgundy shade I want with the ion color brilliance garnet shade ?

    • @VeronicaMarce
      @VeronicaMarce  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @laurenorlando3239 Xmondo has a garnet semi permanent shade that I've heard good things about. I've never tried the garnet semi from ion so I'm not sure how that would come out. I've noticed that it more so matters with what base is underneath the semi dye that helps the color last longer. That's why I gave myself a red base before applying the manic panic. I had that color for 4+ years and it never needed touch ups. I would only refresh it when I would need to dye my regrowth. You can also always put some of the semi permanent dye in your shampoo or conditioner so you could basically refresh it every wash. I'm currently doing that with a purple dye and I've gotten several compliments about how vibrant it still looks after months of not re-applying any dye.

  • @kittyestes3656
    @kittyestes3656 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually you can just dye your hair without all the extra steps that kills your hair it's called Loreal Hicolor and I only leave it in my hair a couple minutes it friggin amazing.

    • @VeronicaMarce
      @VeronicaMarce  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried that before but it barely lightened my hair (and I did it on virgin). I also like the red from the MP vampire red much more than the L'Oreal hicolor and the fact that I have more control on the level of lift with the ion. Tbh I don't remember what developer was used for the L'Oreal hicolor (assuming 30) but no bleach was used in my process above so it should be equally as safe for your hair to do either option. The L'Oreal does exclude the extra step I do with the MP though.

    • @discogoth
      @discogoth 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like L'Oreal HiColor a lot but it does contain lightener, so it's still processing the hair the same amount as just using the Ion permanent red. Personally, I'm a natural brunette and find the HiColor to work the best for me, since a non-lightening dye won't quite do the trick. But I do the same process as she does: permanent dye (for me, HiColor in Red) on the roots, touch up all over with semi-permanent dye (mix Lunar Tides in Blood Moon + a bit of Siam Orange), but I also add a few drops of Red Protein Filler from Sally's to my dye processes.

    • @kittyestes3656

    With the pandemic it gave me a chance to dye my hair red (my job doesn’t allow unnatural hair colors) but it didn’t come out the way I want and don’t know what to do?! My mom bleached my hair and bleached my roots AND the ends all together, mistake number one. I used the 7IR from ion and it was ok, about 2 weeks later went in with a 6IR and it was ok, my roots were gorgeous but only because they were bleached. We went in maybe a month later with a 6RV but still was too dark (brown). With the 7 we used a 20 developer and with the 6RV we used 20 on the roots and 30 on the ends. In the sun you can see the red but overall looks brownish. I would like to get to your end result. Should I just buy a brighter red and test strands of my hair? Honestly thinking about getting ions True Tone’s for dark hair in red and garnet and hopefully by mixing will come out looking like their crimson which is what I ultimately want. I guess I’ll bleach a strand and see how that looks and just use developer on a different strand and see which one I like better.

    • @VeronicaMarce
      @VeronicaMarce  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Did you try the manic panic on top afterwards? That's what really makes it a deep red for me. Maybe because your hair is darker than mine the developer isn't enough to lighten it. I know ions levels usually run a shade darker than a lot of other brands. Since this video I now just use ion 7ir with 30 developer which makes my virgin hair a light copper and put the manic panic on top which makes it a pretty deep red. Did you put the ion on your virgin hair or was it already dyed? If your hair was already dyed than the developer won't really lighten your hair and it would have to be bleached. If I put ion with 30 developer on top of my ends it wouldn't lighten at all, it will only lighten my virgin hair.

    • @simplyme417
      @simplyme417 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@VeronicaMarcemy hair was virgin when I started. The bleach didn’t stay very long in my hair because my mom had to get the bleach off my roots. I haven’t done anything to my hair yet because Sally’s has been out of any red and any developer. I will pick up the manic panic though. Essentially I should go a shade brighter than I want so that it comes out how I want it to? Right now my hair is a reddish brown.

    • @VeronicaMarce
      @VeronicaMarce  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@simplyme417 well right now if you want your hair lighter and it's already dyed you'll have to put bleach on to lighten it. But if you want to keep lightening your virgin hair later down the road for maintenance purposes you could do a test strand by mixing 7ir (the lightest red shade in ion) with 10 (lightest blonde) with 30 developer and see how that works. You can always go the bleach route for touch ups if you prefer, I just noticed it damaged my hair a lot more and after much trial and error found my sweet spot with the 7ir! You can always try a different brand like you mentioned in your last comment if they have a lighter shade available. And if it lightens it enough to the shade you want but it's not red enough you can always put the manic panic on top to deepen the color.

    Hi...so I have salt and pepper hair (naturally lol) bought crimson storm by color jamz (a little pouch envelope) semi permanent. My 2 part question: 1) what do you think my color will turn out like 2) will it eventually washout completely or will it have to grow out or need to cut hair?

      Hi! I've never experimented with color jamz but I just goggled the color you got and would imagine it would come out similar to mine (maybe a little brighter since the color seems slightly lighter and with your hair being lighter than mine). If that's all you're putting over your natural hair it should fade a lot when you wash it but I don't think it would come out completely. Red is one of the hardest colors to remove. If you're a light blonde you could get away with using ion 7rr or 7ir with 10 developer and then put the manic panic vampire red on top. Hi there. I've tried high colour before and it did not lift as well, did much more damage to my hair and faded a lot quicker and not as pretty. I've tried a lot of different reds and this one is what worked best for me. I do know a lot of others love L'Oreal high colour though!
