When my dog was over run with cancer ( after 2 surgeries), I took her to her favorite river spot one last time to play fetch before taking her to be put down. She swam her heart out collasped on shore. She died in my arms, doing what she loved at her favorite place in the world.
This reminded me of her... sorry to be downer but thought id share... miss her and couldn't have asked for a better blessing

Something similar happened to a family member's Black Lab. She suddenly rolled over in the water. They had to go in and get her. She survived. Apparently she had a seizure.
When you came to save him.. your dog followed you to make sure the other dog is ok..really good relationship, thank god you saved him..

Well, to begin with, throwing that huge, heavy stick so far out into the water caused the dog to possibly drown, but so glad the dog was revived!

God heal that dog when I was sick I was at the hospital when we got in. They said they saw I had cancer I got healed by God. My stomach was hurting really bad and I got healed. Thanks God for all stuff that you did for me thank you for protecting me.

Someone in the thread here said they looked up the story… I guess the dog is 11 years old and took in too much water, swimming back to shore, that’s why the guy went out and grabbed him and saved him.

Like I have never seen a dog act like that before so it had to be health related. Think God the owner was able to grab his dog before anything else happened.

The guy made a crucial mistake….he threw in a stick way to thick causing the dogs mouth to be more open inhaling too much water. Handier is reason dog almost died. Not a hero…great he saved him…on his mistake.

Expose animals in smaller creeks or places where they can touch the ground at first. A 17 year old dog can easily drown due to age and other factors.

My dog is old and has a heart disease, I can't remember how many time's he has passed out and I have revived him. I take him everywhere with him cause I'm afriad to leave him alone. So glad the owner acted quite and rescued him fur baby. ❤❤

Me paso en muchas oportunidades, revivía a nuestro Chihuahua, se ahogaba y se desplomaba y yo le daba respiración artificial a través de mis dos manís juntas, un 24 de diciembre fuimos a cenar donde un familiar y regresamos el 25 y fue horrible verlo muero en la cama de mi hijo y los gritos de negación de mi hijo... creo que nunca lo superamos, fue una pérdida

this guy doesn't like his dogs. Otherwise, I would not have thrown the stick into the water knowing that water could get into the dog's mouth and further into the respiratory tract. Or is he just not smart?

I lost my Best Friend Molly this summer. She was an Australian Sheperd. I got her from a farm in Wertz, Va. Not too far from my home. Pups were listed in local paper 4 $200 each. My youngest Son & I headed out & after 2hours finally found it. I told my Son to pick out 1st one that came to him. The man ended up giving her to us. My older Son & me trained her and she was best dog I ever had. She died this summer with her head in my lap as I stroked her & told her what a good girl she was. We buried her in our back yard & I put flowers on her grave from my garden every year. I still call for her to come play ball.😢
I had to cry at this story. My best friend and pet Lacey was a red Merle. Sharp as a tack and so well trained. Her first owner had a stroke. No one in his family wanted her. They dropped her off at the Humane Society. Another guy adopted her. She had to be mourning her first companion. The second guy, decided after 2 months he didn't want her. The wife's dog "didn't get along with Lacey". The first time we met her, she wasn't a very happy dog, no lie. But she would play ball, fixated as they get. The young guy said we were the first family, of 4 others to see her that she took interest in. She went home with us. She was only 2. She came out of her shell, had the best life she ever could have in her forever home finally. We loved her to death. She could do all the typical tricks, plus flip. She passed away at 15. The vet could do nothing more for her when she jumped to lean her paws on my waist to greet me when I came home. Her rear feet slid along the laminate and took her down, hurting her hip/leg. She couldn't walk. Allowing her to be put to sleep was the absolute hardest, most heartbreaking thing I had ever had to do, after every possible treatment t they would offer for 2 weeks. I grieved for a very long time. That was 8 years ago. I now have another Aussie. I will never own another breed again.

@@deniseexline-gregory3026I had a Queensland Heeler, Bean. Amazing, intelligent, empathetic dog. She passed away at age 17. That was 4 years ago and I am still grieving. I have one of her puppies, at least. I am so appreciative and committed to that breed because of her.

@@lilypolekad1712 your profile picture looks quite young, so I’ll explain: because there are many dogs who LOVE to play in the water because that is exactly what they were bred to do. This was a yellow lab, and they were bred to retrieve hunted game from water, such as ducks. It’s in their blood, and their bodies have adapted to be nearly perfect in the water. Just like for people, accidents and unexpected medical events can happen with dogs whether they’re in water or on land.

Oh my gosh. My heart DROPPED when I saw her sink! This is terrifying. I am SO happy he reacted quickly and was able to save her in time. I literally held my breathe until I saw she was fine. I can't imagine his terror in that split second!

It looked like a heart issue. Especially, if over heated and being in the water. He was struggling and taking in too much water. The gasp was the heart issue and exhaustion. I've seen this before.
