Well, it was just super exhausted and weak. Nothing to do with trust or comfort. Glad the baby was saved and always thrilled to see people help animals.
I think the lil fox was on adrenaline overload while trying to stay afloat for so long. Once he was safe, exhaustion took over. The lil feller needed a nap and this man’s chest was right there for him. 👍

In the 3 days I had her, I named her Cecily. They raised Cece, as the called her, over a few months until she weighed a pound. Then they released her near a pond in a national forest. I have always envisioned her as finding a nice hubby, having adorable babies and living her best possum life. How did I find this place? In a, well it couldn't hurt moment, I Googled Possum Rehab, and there it was, 50 mi away. I wish I could have kept her, but unless an animal is damaged in some way that it couldn't survive in the wild, I think re-release is the best way to go. Thanks for listening...😍🦡🙋♀️

I tried to save a v young sick fox that crawled into the garage. The animal control officer told me it was illegal to help the fox and I would need to pay for someone to come out and kill her. The fox was bony and encrusted in mange to the point thay she could barely see, smell, or hear me, so I had to stomp so that she could feel me approaching. I managed to get medicine into her by putting it in odiferous liverwurst. After 5 days, she improved enough that she looked like she would survive and her senses were better. 'Back To The Wild Rescue' took her in for the winter. A wonderful lady named Mary gave her medicated baths, while fattening her up but keeping some distance so she could be released in the spring. Mary received special permission to release her on a massive area of protected wilderness "research" land owned by the Smithsonian. It was spread over miles w a boundary fence and trail cams for protection from trespassers and for monitoring purposes. There were streams where she was released, with feeding stations to help out until she adapted. I hope she survived and thrived. It feels v good to know that there are others who care and don't act like the people at the animal control office in my area, whose advice / orders for animals in need of help is: "kill it".

Absolutely. Animals can read the real person they can sense whether a person is good or mean. There are those out there that think animals are not intelligent and don't have feelings but it's the opposite they are very smart and they most certainly have feelings they can be happy, sad, angry, they can feel love and they can be scared and alone especially a baby animal.

Absolutely. Animals can read the real person they can sense whether a person is good or mean. There are those out there that think animals are not intelligent and don't have feelings but it's the opposite they are very smart and they most certainly have feelings they can be happy, sad, angry, they can feel love and they can be scared and alone especially a baby animal.
