    I spent two nights in jail in my life.
    One was legit. We stole a Grizzly APC to go out in town near the base. We thought we'd use the benches to get lucky. And we got caught. I was NOT the ranking guy, and everyone knew I was already too drunk by then to do anything but sit in the back and think it was a funny prank. So one night. A trip to the mess for Breakfast with two MPs who made a show of telling me don't wanna see you again in front of a few hundred people and that was it. I still got a promotion, but 2 months later. So it cost me about 2500$ in lost wages. A hefty fine...
    The second time... Was a drunk mother in law issue. Fake marks on her arm, about 3 hand sizes too small to be MY fingernails... My ex eventually told the truth and said her mom did it herself... And that was it. Even the cops took it real easy on me and told me about the two empty wine bottles on her counter. The next morning, they got a judge to come in a set me free on a Saturday, instead of waiting a weekend in jail. ZERO bond. It didn't even get to court..
    But I live in Canada. And jails are mostly for ACTUAL REAL criminals here.
    Your little gaming rant, was REALLY taken over the top...
    Was that other gamer CONNECTED politically or something? Are his parents IN the FBI??? You can SHOOT people or threaten them LIVE like Boebert and you walk... But you act like a stupid kid, when playing a KID game and you do 6 years... Incredible...

    I mention this on a few channels and maybe before on one of these videos;
    I worked with a guy who did quite a long time for forcibly trying to get a lot of money that was owed to him. I won't go into details, not my story to tell really. But he is one of the ones that prison saved. Had it not even for prison he never would have done college course, cleaned up from drugs and alcohol and all of it. He tells me stories about people he did time with that he keeps seeing around town and how so many of them are homeless. When I met him he was just like 17 days fresh out, starting a new job. He was sleeping on someone's couch. Within 3 months he had a cheap little apartment and a cheap car. Now he is moving up in life, staying clean. He calls me once in a while just to tell me what he is up to.

    Jail sucks, the county jail in my area is jam packed all the time. They’re cells only have one concrete slab to sleep on and the other cellmate is given what looks like a plastic canoe to sleep on the floor in. My friend went to jail a couple weeks ago and said that all the drunk tank cells were jam packed with women and all the men were crowded in booking and as soon as he was escorted into booking some thug started punching him in the face. He said that the women in the drunk tanks were fighting as well and the guards were placing bets… 😂

    Regarding prison reform, this may sound somewhat barbaric, but I think a Islamic-inspired system for violent crimes would be much more sustainable and reasonable. If someone attacks someone, 10 years in prison is a waste of tax money. Some sort of physical punishment such as lashes should be sufficient. For non-violent crimes that are actually crimes (scamming people, slander, etc) the punishment should be financial.

    • @Maggot39967

      I find this whole notion you need to abuse someone to teach them not to be a violent criminal pretty stupid. The mental abuse people are put through in the modern system is bad enough. I don't think it's going to fix anything at all to just switch the type of abuse.
      Do I have any better ideas? No, but at least I'm not throwing out inhuman treatment as an option.

    For non-violent crimes, personally I'm pro-branding, or marking, or tattooing of some sort. In medieval times, you would get a small brand between your thumb and your forefinger on your right hand for petty theft, A- so you could get 2 chances before drastic measures were taken, and B- so people could see you were a thief when you tried to make deals.
