Many thanks Richard, you are a great inspiration for an older organist with only very small instruments available here where I am staying 😢... I have been watching you for the past few years especially during Covid.. Best regards, Fred RSA
Probably one of my most favourite pipe organs EVER! Thank you for putting so much energy and love into bringing a beautiful instrument around the world! X
Romsey Abbey organ is by far one of my favourite organs in the country. It just has this power that you wouldn't expect and it's tonal qualities are insane. I'm so glad you've sampled this organ... I simply cannot get enough of it from watching your recitals on it, Richard! What's more, J.W. Walker are only down the road from me and I have been talking to the about an Organ Building apprenticeship with them once I have finished my A-levels!
Thks for the interesting talk & demonstrations. You have to know an organ inside & out to be able to do what you are doing. A great organ & beautiful Abbey.
Wow! An amazing new age for the BiS brand! You never stop innovating Richard, and with 100 subscribers under the belt I think one can say that that pays of well!
Wonderful news! This organ will always hold a special place in my heart after hearing you play it in person and hearing one of my own works on it! It’s a lovely abbey and organ! 🎶🇬🇧🎶
I vaguely remember in the late 1960s a visit to the Romsey organ and how beautiful the flute stops were. Good on you, Richard, for your work making it available.
So now you're playing, in a hauptwerk sample, very cool indeed! You go from strength to strength! 💯😊👍 What a beautiful church, really majestic!👑 Intersting to hear all the stops and stuff!
Wow! An incredible organ that is definitely being done justice with its Hauptwerk sample set. I really like idea the different presets for where in the room you here the organ. It’s one of the many fascinating and impressive innovations of this sample set. Great work!
If I could return to the time of youth, I surely learn to play the organ, Richard. Day after day, however, the wonderful nature of this instrument has been revealed to me through your "demiurgical" work.
Good work. One of the best organs I have experienced is the mighty new Klais organ in the auditorium of the Arts and Cultural Centre in Weiwuying Taiwan. The organ the largest in Asia was designed with the auditorium so the acoustics are just right from the softest sounds to the full organ. I would love a sample set of that.
You amaze me with your ability to draw invariably exquisite music from so many different organs with the delay so prominant yet individual and alive in each, even extending to rank and location. Even the clatter withon becomes part of the music each organ performs. I was no good at playing hymns, but I always respected how the organ enjoyed following what I had in mind. Somehow it sounded better than I thought it possible.
Several years ago I learned to play a Dulcimer by ear. I have two of them.,..a 3 string & a 5 string. After not playing them for a few years, I got one tuned up today.. & I will get the other one tuned soon . This is to say, I have to get reacquainted with them I can imagine how excited you are to be able to play that organ!!!
Richard, you are very talented and hard-working organist. I am just a simply hymn player on the organ at my church here in the Washington, DC suburbs. It is a struggle for me to play some of the choral music at my church. I can only dream about having the God-given talent that you have. Thanks for the inspiration and education that you put out there. It is not unnoticed and it is a blessing to many.
Richard I have to say congratulations to you! You have taken You're initial concept far beyond anybody's expectations! Everything Is that you're doing Is absolutely amazing being able to play these beautiful magnificent organs, and to be able bring us organ Music lovers weekly Recitals of hymns and organ works is absolutely fantastic. Is like your family Beauty and sound has grown And flourished with amazing results!Keep up all the good work I look forward to seeing Is more amazing videos in the future.
I am a retired U.S. patent agent, and love the technical aspects of producing a sample set. Please explain as fully as your resources permit, and hopefully it won't put other viewers to sleep. Love those Barker levers! The Cavaille Col at St. Sulpice uses them, and when all the couplers are engaged, they are really noisy at the console.
How exciting! Thank you for sharing with us Richard! You're more than welcome to sample the Organ of St Mary's Harrington (CofE) any time. It's the 40th anniversary of the installation of the Organ in the next couple of years, so it might be something that we could talk about doing in line for the 40th anniversary?
The chosen first organ is a big announcement for more to come, even considering the Home Field Advantage of the new sampling Team 😉. I wish the best for the coming sampling projects…
When will it be released? Where do we go to obtain this? And will this be usable across other platforms (GrandOrgue by SourceForge, Great Organ by DigitalVPO, etc.), or just Hauptwerk?
Hi Richard. From your screenshots of a few weeks back I guessed what you were up to and I'm delighted that I was right! I'm sure this will be an excellent sample set having seen your technical expertise and dedication to detail in all your previous endeavours. I've about given up on Voxus ever releasing the Dudelange surround version, so I'll wait until August to play with your new sample set. Your acoustic presets for Romsey should be fun!
I strongly recommend talking to St Ignatius Loyola in New York to see if you can sample that one; a four-manual Mander built in 1993 and inspired by the French Romantic organs of the mid-to-late 19th Century.
This is an amazing organ! I would love you to review and sample the organ of Ealing Abbey. As someone who has played on the Ealing Abbey Organ, it isn't much (with only two manuals) but it is a very nice organ.
Outstanding work Richard - a job well done by the whole team. How about adding St. Mary Redcliffe, Bristol and its fine 1912 Harrison to a list of possible future projects?
VERY VERY nice building… would love to photograph inside…. “If the walls could ‘talk’…” Nice old organ, too!!! Nostalgic to hear the “clicking”… the organist the only one to hear the click… so, as a pianist myself (and having played some electronic organs), is it harder-like a harpsichord’s feel-to actually play [depress] the keys on the keyboard? More “tiring” on the fingers?
I have been interested in the idea of sampling organs ever since I got into Haupwerk. Where is it that one learns how to turn audio recordings into the format that Hauptwerk reads? Does Milan make some sort of program that you use to "design" the organ interface/sample set? I haven't had much luck googling on how to do this...
Richard, I want to know: How do you ask for and get permission from all of these places to play their organs? And what would be good ways for ME to ask for permission? And have you ever played the big organ in Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, NJ? If so, how did you get permission?
When you say you enjoy this instrument “every week”, does this mean you’re playing here now? Or that your beautiful family attends church here now and your playing activity is taken up with BIS and concert work?
Great news! I particularly love the idea of the presets.
That’s wonderful Richard! It’s amazing what the new technology can do. Keep up the great work🌷
How exciting it must be for an organist to select "actual" and tuned, and locations. Thank you, Richard!

Very exciting times for organists and organ music lovers! Thanks for all the hard work Richard - this is gonna be great!!! 😊
Absolutely the coolest video, tech, info. Thanks for this.

Another addition to mark 2023. Your dictation to your craft serves you well. Congratulations!
dedication also!

Richard you're in your zone! Buggy on down! Yeah hautwerp!❤😊

Wonderful news Team BIS. This is a beautiful and familiar organ. Looking forward to its release. Thank you yet again Richard.👋👋
Fascinating!!🤩 (…especially the delays and “matching” the sounds above the organist with the “distant” sounds!😉😊) THANK YOU!
What great idea Richard
Maybe we can sample Yorkminster one day
Well done Richard!! Romsey abbey is beautiful.

Stunning building and a beauty of an organ....😊
Wonderful job.
I am looking forward to learning more. Very interesting innovations! I have been wanting an English organ perhaps this is the one I will buy!

Would be happy to lend my ears to help with Tuning, Richard. Very cool you've sampled an organ.

Well done Richard, an exciting new direction for BiS! Shame you didn’t sample the Gloucester organ before its removal 😢
Fascinating. Would love this sample set on mu iPad.
Awesome video Richard you did an amazing job keep up the great work 😊

I look forward to it. J W Walker was a great builder whose instruments seem to be overshadowed by other builders’ work…..
The chosen first organ is a big announcement for more to come, even considering the Home Field Advantage of the new sampling Team 😉. I wish the best for the coming sampling projects…
Congratulations!
I would love to see you record Chichester and Lincoln Cathedral as Hauptwerk Samplesets....
Love to have those organs...
All your hard work is paying off! ❤❤
I'm so glad that Richard is doing Hauptwerk sets! I don't use Hauptwerk yet, but am now getting really tempted.
When will it be released? Where do we go to obtain this? And will this be usable across other platforms (GrandOrgue by SourceForge, Great Organ by DigitalVPO, etc.), or just Hauptwerk?
It would be good if you were to sample St. Albans Cathedral.

This is amazing!!!!! Well done and congratulations. I hope you might be considering Arundel, since you’re there regularly.
please please please do Liverpool Cathedral .. Ian Tracy
I don't play the organ, but it's fascinating to see how it all works. The clickiness - LOL!
I strongly recommend talking to St Ignatius Loyola in New York to see if you can sample that one; a four-manual Mander built in 1993 and inspired by the French Romantic organs of the mid-to-late 19th Century.

I cannot imagine getting excited about noisy (!) action 😅. As a matter of fact I test every keyboard I use for action noise. 😊
What is the name of this church, and where is it located? It's very beautiful, and the organ is wonderful!
Absolutely brilliant Richard!
Can I put in a request for St Mary Redcliffe in Bristol to be sampled? I’m not aware that it has been done yet.
I have been interested in the idea of sampling organs ever since I got into Haupwerk. Where is it that one learns how to turn audio recordings into the format that Hauptwerk reads? Does Milan make some sort of program that you use to "design" the organ interface/sample set? I haven't had much luck googling on how to do this...
now time for a grandorgue version for those who cant afford hauptwerk 😂
Is there a church where Richard plays regularly? I would like to go to the UK for an organ tour.
This church! 😊
Next is WHEN? My credit card is on the table.
Richard, I want to know: How do you ask for and get permission from all of these places to play their organs? And what would be good ways for ME to ask for permission? And have you ever played the big organ in Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City, NJ? If so, how did you get permission?

Yes Please. In the pipe line 😂
Almost a Virtual Red Redeemed Organ to play on virtual keyboard 🎹...? Could be expensive, could it be on PS4 or Xbox?😊
👏😊
