Everyone was a unstylish scrub at the start, but you are supposed to replay the game multiple times to unlock the harder difficulties and new content. The game is made with the image in mind that people will keep playing to master the characters, I myself am no pro but the level that he is playing he is legitimately missing out on 90% of the content including basic fucking attacks and the buster I just dont understand. Even if you do not replay the game you should learn this basic shit within couple missions...
damn it seems the vid is pretty uninformed. thats the thing i liked about the dmc bosses, is that there are layerss to them. you can be an absolute scrub and just mash attack and shoot and think the boss is boring or be rewarded by experimenting and/or learning about all the powerful shit you can do with the characters. Instant Revs with Nero made every encounter ten times more exciting and the buster moves where just spectacular. dante is even on a different level.
I can completely agree on Dante being above Credo. But Sanctus imo is a garbo boss. And how can't you talk about boss buster moves? Those were the best part of Nero's play through.
There’s literally a boss in DMC 5 called “Artemis” which is basically a way better designed Sanctus. Which means sanctus wasn’t a very good boss to begin with if the design could be improved that much. (Artemis isn’t Sanctus, I’m just saying they are very similar, but Artemis is way better)
@@Z-A-C Sanctus isn't that bad. He's pretty good, especially if you can buster the statue and Sparda. BUT, I disagree with Credo being worse than Sanctus. Credo, especially on DMD is an absolute treat.
Joe the Coyote No, not necessarily. It still had the functionality of that boss. It just wasn’t very good in DMC 4. In DMC 5 that boss design is way better with great improvements.
Sorry I'm stopped after you said "Theres a stun you can get good damage on". I'm advising you to replay the game and utilize your Devil Bringer more... Sorry this was your weakest video
I can tell you are a Nero rookie. You can Buster the following things: Echidna charge, Credo spears, Saviour punch in the first Sanctus fight, and every single boss when they are stunned and some bosses have like 2-3 different busters when they are stunned (none has as many as Berial though, he's a pinata of busters!) and that's not counting DT Buster which changes up the animation and does more damage. Also, Nero's DT activation not only has invincibility frames, it's also an attack so it's essentially an offensive parry and it CAN stun a boss if you do it the moment they attempt to hit with certain attacks.
You can Distorted Real Impact Savior's chest gem when he comes up to you and likely demolish his health bar. You also have Gunslinger Pandora for more firepower for when you have to shoot the works.
Why should he? He says during the DMC2 video that he plays games on normal, and no, you can't say that "The whole point of DMC is playing it on the harder modes", it's a regular game and that's all it is.
I learned with the Savior that the best way to take him down is to use the Pandora's laser attack. He's slow enough to where you can set it up and it does MASSIVE damage so you can knock him down and go for even more damage
@@piergiorgiocaroli9201 Yeah, it can seriously wreck the Savior and save you loads of time. There were things in that game I was still discovering even after years of having finished it. That just shows how deep the mechanics are
Watching this video reminds me why most action games have dumb QTEs. DMC4 expects the player to intelligently read the bosses animation to figure out when to use the Buster command grabs.
Tbf, i didn't even know you could parry enemies until i reached sanctus... If i knew i might have at least guessed, but there wasn't even that, so yeah. The fun part though is how i knew a good chunk of the parries in 2010, while now i forgot all of them, every single one.
13:32 Literally the exact opposite of the point of DMC and he KNOWS IT! WHAT?! Edit: Didn’t realize there was a response to the hate, thanks for addressing our problems.
While i appreciate your content and cant wait for your dmc 5 video, as well as the fact that im happy you are enjoying the game, dmc boss rankings kind of require you play on the harder difficulties since enemies get more moves and better tactics, since upgrades always carry over. So only playing on the normal mode, while i get that is a clear thing you mentioned at the beginning of the series, kiind of misses the point
The board game is easy once you know the trick (the number that's face-up on the dice when you hit it will always be what you get), the actual worst part of DMC4 is definitely the Savior boss fight. I'd go as far as to say it's one of the worst boss fights in the series, period.
Yes. That shit made me loose my shit on higher difficulties. Oh so you just beat a giant frog, here lets have you fight another one, but before that fight a room full of those lightning mo'fos
Man, I thought Credo was easily the best boss battle in the game. Dante is cool, but I didn't really find him nearly as fun and cathartic to fight as Credo. I also liked Berial a lot more than say Agnus and perhaps even Sanctus. Pretty good list though.
I would rank the fights as: 1. Credo 2. Berial 3. Dante 4. Agnus Angelo 5. Echidna 6. Savior 7. Sanctus 8. Bael Fortunately I can say all the bosses in this game are good
Personally I count the containment cell as it’s own boss fight and count that as by far the worst. As for my favorite I’d honestly say Credo cause not only does he look like a younger Flase King Allant but he demanded a lot out of me that I felt Dante didn’t I found with Dante just spam him until he shoots to counter then close in on him before you do a dash attack. Rinse and repeat until you win. Also I didn’t mind the savior because you could use all of Dante’s ridiculous sub weapons to make the fight much faster.
Ok. Again with the Rebellion and Pistol spam. Its not like you have 4 other styles and any other devil arms or guns. Naw naw, even the circle button doesn't exist. I mean its not like Nero has a demon arm or anything. Jesus, you might as well be playing on Automatic.
Echidna has a voice pretty similar to what I expected 😂Do you still plan on doing Dark Souls 2 speedruns? That’s something I’ve been wanting to see for a while now
I know you considered the window fight part of Agnus but the window fight is actually the worst one in the game don’t @ me Credo is the best, and if you utilized your buster and maybe played on a harder difficulty your opinions may be different
Hey Demod, have you considered doing a ten things you loved/hated about your speed runs? Like a recap after they are done, letting you vent/praise about the run a little?
I love the Devil May Cry series, and I've loved it since I was a toddler. Looking back, I played a lot like you when I was 10 years old, but even my premature and ramen-infused mind still used buster moves on bosses! I love you, I really do, but srsly, m8, take some time in the Bloody Palace and just try to use different combos for Nero and Dante, as well as weapon switching. If you have this mentality, it'll translate over well to the sequel. Also, there's a mechanic with Nero in which if you rev your sword in the middle of a swing, it will buff it. Just try these out and focus less on triangle, and more on different ways you can approach a fight with your arsenal. I want to see a SSStylish rank for a good sum of your later encounters! Best of luck to you! ~Doodlr
Yeah, I'm sorry to be that guy but it seems that you didn't really get the point of DMC to be honest. The game isn't about how you fight through the game like a warrior in Dark Souls or similar games, DMC is about how you beat the absolute living shit of a boss in the most stylish way possible. You bought the game, you can play it however you want to but if you really wanted to make a list of best bosses in the game you at the very least should know how to Lock On and use Nero's Buster Arm. This wasn't the best series you've ever done man, but I appreciate the effort. Maybe you should try and do some combos to see where the fun lies in these games! Playing on a harder difficulty and absolutely destroying waves and waves of enemies and even bosses is so fun!
DMC4 basically got the Metal Gear Solid 5 treatment....A great game that was tragically Rushed. Thankfully DMC5 is Phenomenal, looking forward to that ranking.

You clearly haven't understood DMC and their the game-play DMC games are not button masher(except dmc2) which is how you are playing it and that say a lot about your video and ranking.
I have to agree with the number one spot purely because as a long time DMC fan who played every game upon release, fighting Dante was both aesthetically pleasing and challenging. Fighting him on the hardest difficulties was absolutely brutal as he pulls out every trick available to his styles and wastes no time in punishing your mistakes. He also doesn't give you much time to get used to a pattern as passive play brings the guns to bear (since he's completely immune to your gunplay) and the absolute MOMENT you make for an aggressive move he counters with whatever attack will beat your frames. You'reforced to watch his range and keep track of his current stance and prepare for the few attacks you CAN punish and every mistake is precious as he deals an absurd amount of damage. Other bosses on the harder difficulties were difficult mostly due to the amount of damage they deal and certain bullshit attacks being unforgiving but none of them required the amount of precision that Dante did. Credo keeps a close second because he follows a very similar aesthetic. His attacks are far more aggressive than dantes and he has a pattern that can be punished, that being you can break his shield over time for buster attacks. This lets you play a passive game of punishing his attacks but the fact his onslaughts become more and more frenzied over the course of the fight and your windows too dent his shield shorter and shorter He presents a decent challenge
Tip for saviour. You can reflect his ranged ball attacks to gain white orbs, while in DT you do way more damage to him, and I believe if you knock back the orange orbs he falls down.
I'll be honest before the health bar spawned i had no idea shooting the Savior from range was effective. Credo is an easy franchise top three for me tho.
Berial is pretty fun when you have enemy step and air hike, you can jump cancel your way to victory and it feels good to not take any damage and not touch the ground. You can change the Lock on in 4 to be toggle rather than held, iirc. Also you should Buster the bosses for massive damage. Credo Angelo is the best boss after Dante.
Awesome content my dude. Nice to see you going all out with your channel. I see myself in your gameplay on my first go. Hopefully you can find the time to learn the more unique combat mechanics for these games as your appreciation will change. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to DMC 5 and even DMC DMC if you feel like giving it a go 👍
So happy you're back, Demod. Loving the recent content. What did you think about having to repeat so many of the bosses in DMC4 since you play as Nero and Dante. I remember scratching my head at this choice the first time I played.
Great video, dude. But I would've had Credo at #2. In my opinion his fight is a complete adrenaline rush. And that you can approach the fight differently. You can attempt you zip around the battlefield and find small windows to attack him or you can try breaking his guard. Not only that but he also has a risk-reward system in the boss fight with him throwing spears at you at crazy speeds which allows you to catch them mid air and throw them back at him (Assuming you have the reflexes to do so). Quick and agline bosses are always a blast to fight and I think he deserves being higher than the priest.

@@blindtreeman8052 to be fair at the beginning of most vids he does say "I always play the game and rank the bosses based on normal difficulty." It's safe to assume he played on normal unless otherwise specified.
1. He plays on the standard difficulty (because it's the original way the devs meant the game)
2. He hates lock on cameras, he didn't use them in most of DS and BB fights, no surprise here
You know you could buster bosses right? when they get stun thats when you buster them.
The fact that the amount of damage he took from the saviour shows that he was most likely playing "Human" -_-
And what exactly would be the problem with that? Different difficulties exist in games for a reason.
@@TeryonTheHuman but some difficulties exaggerate or forget the point completely
If they're in the game a player has a right to choose to play whatever difficulty they want be it the easiest or the hardest. The game is meant to be in enjoyed and that's what different difficulties offer different enjoyment for people who want different things out of the game.
@@TeryonTheHuman you still don't understand what im trying to say
@@TeryonTheHuman what im trying to say is that the first 2 difficulties are too easy for that difficulty setting i get what you are trying to say but what im also trying to say is that it licks us out of other difficulties until you beat DH
This is hard to watch not just gameplay but the script included
oh man I really don't want to be the guy but you really make it hard.... watching you smash the same basic attack over and over again is real hard, but no thats not all! Then you proceed to have a fully charged red queen and waste it on the same basic attacks instead of the 'special' lockon attacks. And did you even ever use the buster in the game?? you would have gotten badass cutscenes and massive damage
Edit: Also how the fuck did Credo not make it to no.1? Also he was not hard? Did you not play any of the harder difficulties?? why you even play this game come on dude like I am pretty sure all of the gameplay was on the easiest difficulty... you can beat all the bosses in basically seconds not even experiencing most of the gameplay
Seems like he only played the game once on human difficulty, you really can't get away with that on higher difficulties since the game kinda forces you to learn how to lock on and dodge. A shame really(to be fair i was an unstylish scrub when i first played the game)
Unsubscribe from this shit
damn it seems the vid is pretty uninformed. thats the thing i liked about the dmc bosses, is that there are layerss to them. you can be an absolute scrub and just mash attack and shoot and think the boss is boring or be rewarded by experimenting and/or learning about all the powerful shit you can do with the characters. Instant Revs with Nero made every encounter ten times more exciting and the buster moves where just spectacular. dante is even on a different level.
You can counter the Savior's melee attacks with your own to stun him immediately
For credo if you use a buster instread of melee for openings you can break his shield giving you an insane amount of time to wreck him
DeMod... My dude... There are so many gameplay mechanics that you aren't utilizing... Buster, exceed, trickster, etc.
I mean... He did use trickster against the saviour... But that's arguable in utility to his arguments.
I can completely agree on Dante being above Credo. But Sanctus imo is a garbo boss. And how can't you talk about boss buster moves? Those were the best part of Nero's play through.
Sanctus is just annoying.
@@Z-A-C What you're saying is that if you can improve something then the original thing is trash?
Joe the Coyote
No, not necessarily. It still had the functionality of that boss. It just wasn’t very good in DMC 4. In DMC 5 that boss design is way better with great improvements.
Wait you liked the perma lock on in dmc2?!
Sorry I'm stopped after you said "Theres a stun you can get good damage on". I'm advising you to replay the game and utilize your Devil Bringer more... Sorry this was your weakest video
"Nero good, Dante great" is essentially exactly my thoughts on DMC5
And V atrocious
What difficulty are you playing on cause berial sure as hell didn't just sit there and let me wail on him the whole time.
He’s playing on human. Damage values say so
Dude its not a musical number its a camp off
you *LIKE* the insta lock of 2!?
Now imagine this guy playing a fighting game 😭
You can Distorted Real Impact Savior's chest gem when he comes up to you and likely demolish his health bar. You also have Gunslinger Pandora for more firepower for when you have to shoot the works.
Man
Please play the harder difficulties
Ive been playing this of dmd and ive not finished yet but it makes this game so much more exhilarating
Why should he? He says during the DMC2 video that he plays games on normal, and no, you can't say that "The whole point of DMC is playing it on the harder modes", it's a regular game and that's all it is.
@@Joe-oc9rq
Thats not what i said
My point was that i think the experience becomes better on the higher difficulties
I learned with the Savior that the best way to take him down is to use the Pandora's laser attack. He's slow enough to where you can set it up and it does MASSIVE damage so you can knock him down and go for even more damage
Never tried that. I always use E&I, Rebellion and Yamato. I usually wreck Berial with Pandora.
@@piergiorgiocaroli9201 Yeah, it can seriously wreck the Savior and save you loads of time. There were things in that game I was still discovering even after years of having finished it. That just shows how deep the mechanics are
@@Aiddon QUALITY!!! (Thanks for the tip by the way. I'll try it next time.)
You realize he doesn't have to do that right?
Joe the Coyote You realize that by not doing it, you drag the fight out, right?
Ouch. Thanks comment section for doing my job :D
“Then I thrust it” - Dante DMC4
Poor guy, it was probably his first playtrough
Dante was more serious when you using vergil lol, I don't recall he using royal guard when facing Nero
(Does he realize that you can grab the fairy waifus when you fight the toad?)
The frog goes into stun when the ice on the top breaks, so jump up and smash it, then hit his tongue because it does massive damage.
Glad people finally realized that this guy just doesn’t understand how to get the most out the series.
I feel like you didn't fight the saviour properly, he's still boring though
Berial 2nd from the bottom? Lol sorry but I can't see how
13:32 Literally the exact opposite of the point of DMC and he KNOWS IT!
You're meant to use the Yamato (Dark Slayer style) on the Savior, it's why you got it prior the fight, makes destroying the gems alot easier
This whole comments section is just everyone complaining over the lack of busters in the boss fights. Relax guys, it’s no big deal really
The worst part of DMC4 was that maddening board game section
It wasn't that bad
I kinda craved it
The board game is easy once you know the trick (the number that's face-up on the dice when you hit it will always be what you get), the actual worst part of DMC4 is definitely the Savior boss fight. I'd go as far as to say it's one of the worst boss fights in the series, period.
Yes. That shit made me loose my shit on higher difficulties. Oh so you just beat a giant frog, here lets have you fight another one, but before that fight a room full of those lightning mo'fos
worst part was the disappearing platforms with the reaper dudes
Man, I thought Credo was easily the best boss battle in the game. Dante is cool, but I didn't really find him nearly as fun and cathartic to fight as Credo. I also liked Berial a lot more than say Agnus and perhaps even Sanctus. Pretty good list though.
I would rank the fights as:
1. Credo
2. Berial
3. Dante
4. Agnus Angelo
5. Echidna
6. Savior
7. Sanctus
8. Bael
Fortunately I can say all the bosses in this game are good
Credo was my favorite boss in that game but to each their own
Comparing agnis to armstrong almost made me puke fam ive never had so many problems with one of your videos this just seems carelessly thrown together
Aw man, you never did exeeds with Nero :c that's the best part about him, bro.
U kno if a boss is stunned just like the old dude just snatch him so he doesn’t go away
I prefer to play as Dante. Don't like him that much as a Boss.
Ok. Again with the Rebellion and Pistol spam. Its not like you have 4 other styles and any other devil arms or guns.
Naw naw, even the circle button doesn't exist. I mean its not like Nero has a demon arm or anything.
Jesus, you might as well be playing on Automatic.
Don't know of you knew, you can stun savior with dark style (vergil's sword)
The lack of DMD mode is disturbing
Echidna has a voice pretty similar to what I expected 😂Do you still plan on doing Dark Souls 2 speedruns? That’s something I’ve been wanting to see for a while now
I know you considered the window fight part of Agnus but the window fight is actually the worst one in the game don’t @ me
Credo is the best, and if you utilized your buster and maybe played on a harder difficulty your opinions may be different
Ben Xen Sanctus is still worse. At least the window doesn’t run at 3x your speed.
Have fun with DMC5, literally every boss in that game is fun as hell.
agreed and the osts are amazing too
Hey Demod, have you considered doing a ten things you loved/hated about your speed runs?
~Doodlr
Also, Credo is best boi!
Hey demod which game are you looking most forward to this year
That's odd. You got Agnus II and Sanctus (whichever) switched. It's an honest mistake.
DMC4 was one of my first and favourite PS3 games and this video brings so much great memories !
DMC4 is probably the best rushed game ever though.
Indeed, if DMC4 is a game that stretches a fairly small amount of content to the breaking point, DMC5 is basically "But wait, there's more!" The Game.

I wish they had one or two more missions of Dante and Vergil cutting the Qliphoth down. Felt like it ended a bid too soon and too sudden.
I was waiting a comentary of the buster on Sanctus first fight, it's satisfying how he beats de crap out of him and how he says "You are the demon, not me"
you know you can use your buster on berial when his fame are out you can also use buster when when berial use his super charge attack when his health his low you know you can use buster when frog is down on ground with his tongue out you know you can use buster on Echidna when is head is spinning you know you can grab credo with buster if you thrust him up each time plus you can catch his spear and you know you can use buster on savior when he punch you in stage 11 and hell you can even use buster on sanctus when all his shield are down and at mission 20 you can catch sanctus with buster when he charge towards you at the end.
There are plenty of strategies you can employ to make the Savior much less of a pain. One Distorted Real Impact is enough to kill him on normal
Though you don't make the most use of the Buster, which is kinda vital for the best rankings, I admittedly love some of your wordplay.
Featuring Nero from the Devil May Cry series
Awesome content my dude. Nice to see you going all out with your channel. I see myself in your gameplay on my first go. Hopefully you can find the time to learn the more unique combat mechanics for these games as your appreciation will change. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to DMC 5 and even DMC DMC if you feel like giving it a go 👍
DeMod i LOVE your Dark Souls videos, but you clearly haven't spent the time or effort on the DMC games to rank bosses...
Timing buster to grab santus is something I am just now learning..
In my first walkthrough of the game, Sanctus was pain in the ass. Ended up using holy water on him.
So happy you're back, Demod. Loving the recent content. What did you think about having to repeat so many of the bosses in DMC4 since you play as Nero and Dante. I remember scratching my head at this choice the first time I played.
Did I mentioned that all the bosses were very easy with Dante
Yo. On the savior, cheese thebest gunslinger move where you just keep hitting circle. Shit melts those crystals like a snowball in a microwave
Can you make another hollow knight boss ranking (with godmaster) worst to best/ easiest to hardest.. Anything. I need this on yt
The bosses are truly at their best on the harder difficulties it's so much more fun!
Dude, were you playing on human? I know you got to get these videos out but you can't do a rankings video if you play it on training wheels. Also, no buster, no Exceed, trickster, gunslinger with pandora? One of your weaker vids Dmod, I think you're going to need to revist this because there's no way in hell I can take your DMC5 Rankings seriously if this is the lens your gauging the game on.
Burial is my personal favorite. And Sanctus is my least favorite. (not counting the Savior)
This gameplay is really hard to watch by the way
