    Do you ever have issues with coconut oil clogging your pores since its highly comonogenic ? I love coconut oil but I intend to make a head to toe butter and was just wondering. Ty!

      We need thicker lotions because it acts as a protective barrier and moisturizer while it heals.

    Can bees wax be used instead of shea butter?

    • @latricemoore4658
      @latricemoore4658 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use bees wax with the Shea butter. You can also use mango butter instead of Shea butter or avocado butter, kokum butter. There are many different butters you can use. Just research them and see which one fights your needs. Hope this helps.

    Hi, what would the shelf life be for this?

  • @shaydshani
    @shaydshani 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Just came across this in my recommendations cause I love natural products. So this is more of a cream oil than a lotion? What's the shelf life for these? I'd love to send some to my aunt who's in her late 70's and I don't want her to have to worry about it being spoiled when she gets it.

    • @ReneeBarnettTV
      @ReneeBarnettTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! 6 months is the shelf life just make sure not to get any water in the product because water can cause bacteria to start to grow. Thanks for watching ☺️

    Do you need a preservative for this recipe?

    • @ReneeBarnettTV
      @ReneeBarnettTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! No you don’t because its made with butters and oils only, which isn’t an environment that bacteria like to grow.

    • @ReneeBarnettTV
      @ReneeBarnettTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When using a scale I measure my empty bowl on the scale first so i get a baseline then I add my butter and/or oil to the bowl

    • @ReneeBarnettTV
      @ReneeBarnettTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It gets a little more firm but its sill very soft..lol it that makes any sense. It still feels like a soft cream not hard butter at all.

    Hello if I want to add distilled water to this cream recipe so that it feels more like a lotion how much distilled water can I add to it?

    • @ReneeBarnettTV
      @ReneeBarnettTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! If you add in distill water, which you certainly can, you would also have to add in a preservative to prevent bacterial growth and that would be an entirely different recipe. ☺
