This amazing balm has done more for my daughter’s eczema than anything we have ever tried. Thank you so much for your families amazing channel, you are truly changing lives!
Everyone, there is a direct connection between Eczema and gluten allergy. If you have Evzema you may have an allergy to gluten even though you don't test positive for Celiac disease. A friend of mine had his Eczema completely heal in one week after he eliminated gluten from his diet.
I agree, I tried a clean eating diet for 30 days and my skin cleared up completely. But honestly it was a hard diet to maintain. So I get flareups. I know most people have the itchy kind of eczema, mine is the burning sores on hands and forearms. I can't use commercial lotions because they burn my skin. This natural cream sounds perfect for me. Thank you for sharing.
I know my eczema since childhood is 1. When I have too high of a white cell count. 2. Too much toxics in my system. 3. Eating too much junk. It is no fun and I believe got really worse when I had the chickenpox at 16 years of age. Many Blessings to all of your family ❤❤
What is "toxics" and what do you mean "in your system"? Are you talking about heavy metals, PFAS, food poisoning, or what? Why do you believe that it's related to eczema? Are you aware that everything you read on facebook and youtube isn't true?
@@werewoIf yes, too much poison in one's system, too much process food, too much sugar, and too many of added ingredients in food such as corn syrup. Having a weak immune since childhood leads to higher eczema issues. Hope this helps.
@@beverly3397 It doesn't help at all because youre just spewing vague, mostly unrelated pseudoscience without any proof and it's quite obvious you have zero idea what "toxins" you are even referring to. "poison in ones system"? I don't usually eat rat poison so WTF are you talking about? Please do some real research. I was hoping you'd start googling yourself out of ignorance when you realized you have absolutely no clue what "toxins" you're even avoiding or how they get into your system in the first place.
Also make sure you get him really hydrated. Any dry skin means you need more moisture. We can help it with rubs but to really fix it we need more hydration. Try hydrating foods and drinks. Also try cutting out citric acid from diet see if that helps. Having a problem with it can cause eczema because you sweat it out.
Thank you for making this so simple, the tip about the whipped version not lasting near as long was great. now time to give this a shot, I am thinking of subbing the olive oil with either coconut or macadamia oil.
@@FromScratchFarmstead you know this made realize 1 HUGE THING: tallow Mayo... OMG ...: I dont gotta give up mayo ??? I LOVE U. Thank you for making me think of this. gonna make it and see how I go. I been making my own mayo for some time. same with mustard, still got some. LOVE it now, I am thinking a tallow mayo will change EVERYTHING. fyi I started makin my own tallow and used it as moisturizer works great. Thanks again for ur work.
Thanks for the info. I just made my first batch of whipped tallow balm. I made some mistakes! I bought tallow from the butcher and it was tan-sh and smelled very meaty. Also, I melted it down and let it sit for an hour to begin to solidify and then used an emersion blender in it. I scooped it into a jar and as it cooled it became very hard. Much harder that the ready made one was. Whipping it is messy and too much work and after listening to you I have decided to not whip it. I'll just do the balm.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, doing the wet method for processing to get that beefy smell out is important when using tallow for skin care. Hope you are able to use it and learned some things along the way :)
omg , thank god i found this video. My daughter has been suffering from ecxema for years . Can i buy grass feed tallow like at whole foods and then render that fat down or should i get tallow from a local farmer . I want to make sure its odorless. Also , is it regular Olive oil or extra virgin olive oil
I’d talk to a local farmer or butcher. If you buy the pre-rendered fat, make sure you render with the wet method to eliminate any beefy smells! All the best to your daughter! That’s the worst to watch your kid struggle!
Good question! Because tallow is hard at room temperature, a liquid oil is needed to help make it a spreadable balm. That being said, you could use avocado oil or even castor oil instead of olive oil. Thanks for watching!
Hi, What kind of olive oil do you use? Oh please don't tell me that you hand press your olives :) I have a little granddaughter that has severe eczema and am hoping this will help. Thanks so much. A very helpful video.
Hi! Which oils are you talking about here? I've never tried just whipping the tallow but my feeling is that the tallow would be too firm to whip well without the addition of olive oil. Let me know if you try it! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this video. Have a question about the oil...will coconut oil work instead of olive oil? Is there an advantage of using olive oil instead of coconut?
I use a liquid oil instead like olive oil because it gives the tallow balm a smooth, spreadable texture. I’ve never made it with coconut oil but it’s a solid unless it’s over 76 or so degrees Fahrenheit so I’m afraid the combination of solid oils at room temp would make it very difficult to spread as a balm. Thanks for watching!
Oh no! I haven't had that problem. We just keep it in a jar at room temp. YOu could always more to the fridge if needed but the texture would be more firm.
Ok I just want to make sure , if I buy the Epic Tallow at Whole Foods , I just then follow your recipe (1/2 c epic tallow then using wet method and add 2 tbsp of olive oil , is that extra virgin olive oil?
I've never bought the epic tallow before - does it have a beefy smell or do they render it so it's odorless? If it's odorless, then warm the tallow, add the olive oil (extra virgin is great) and you are all set. If the tallow has a beefy smell and you want to get rid of the smell, then you can re-render is using the wet method to eliminate the beefy odor. I hope that makes sense. Thanks for watching and I hope you love the tallow balm!
I've never tried that, I'm afraid the texture would be off and too firm and not spreadable. Let me know if you try it and how it works! Thanks for watching!
That’s an interesting question! We have another video for a tallow based magnesium lotion but it does include cocoa butter (or shea butter) and beeswax in addition to the tallow and olive oil. Even in that recipe the magnesium oil does separate out some and I’m still working on fixing that! Let me know if you experiment with it!

Have you look into using Organic Castor oil?
Yes, gluten and dairy. It's an autoinmune condition. It is sort of like an allergy to certain foods.
Thank you so so much❤
You're welcome!

actually, dry skin can be an indicator of needing more healthy fat in the diet. Not seed oils, but animal fats.
Thank you for the information. I did not know about the water taking the beef smell away. Good information

You want an oil that is liquid at room temperature. Avocado oil would be a good substitute. Thanks for watching!

Hope you love it!
Thank you for this fantastic recipe! Do you think jojoba oil would also work instead of olive oil?
I don't see why not but I don't have much experience with jojoba oil! Let me know if you try and how it goes!
I’ve read that jojoba oil is best with tallow.
I make tallow and jojoba balm and it’s great! I do 12 oz tallow and 2 oz jojoba. Plus essential oil if you want a fragrance
Thank you! Do you have a tallow free one that might be just as good or close? I ask, because I won’t use it for much else. Thanks

Hello 😊. Can I use pig lard instead of beef tallow?
