I am 20 years old and genuinely feel awkward stanning someone younger than me. I can listen to their music if I like it, but can never become a stan stan.
For me personally the first thing I ask myself is "do I enjoy the music" & then I go from there, cuz thats the biggest rule for me it comes down to do I enjoy the music & that helps me a lot bc the last time I was at the whole "ok with their ages.. do I wanna buy the album?" was NewJeans' debut album bc I really loved the music itself (minus the whole thing with Cookie) so I decided to just get the group version at the time then organically bc I found myself kept going back to listen to the album or just to Attention &/or Hype Boy that by the end of year I was like ok safe to say I'm enjoying the album & they all come with a full set of photocards (cuz my life is fucking chaotic & collecting is a fun hobby to distract from that shit) so I'm just gonna get the other albums & I just cuz it came up in the video I genrally don't do is posters tho last time I think I had posters on the wall I was like 12 but I didn't like how it was covering my purple painted bedroom so I took them down & threw them out so if you do that great, awesome! just not for me! (sorry I ramble)
Same, I'm 23 and my ults are GIDLE and aespa for a reason. I can't even just stan younger groups, I can only casually listen to them like newjeans or lessera. In fact a group that I'm recently getting into and stanning are Dreamcatcher lmao, a 3rd gen group with the youngest member being 2 years older than me.
ahhhhhhhhhh thank you so much 😭😭😭 I'm always getting the "she tries too hard to look good comments" that I have to delete bc..... it annoys me phhht 💖💐
1:55 “it’s not our thing to forgive like back off” As a black kpop Stan, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCHH. Like I see N word scandals and non black kpop Stans talk about they forgive them and black kpop Stan’s should forgive them too…
2NE1 but prettier.....ugh! The 2NE1 members had such a unique beauty that K-pop refuses to showcase now. Now all the girls in the groups look the same!
I'm sorry....I didn't think it was rude to point out that the girls chosen to be in K-pop groups all have a similar look now. They aren't allowed to be uniquely pretty. The big companies want girls who have the same eyes, same nose shape, same lips, same everything that's considered traditionally beautiful. It's so wrong! Personally, I feel none of the girls can stick out because of this. I wasn't trying to be rude, or to hold up 2NE1 by bringing other girls down. I was just pointing out what I feel is the sad, obvious truth.
The amount of hate babymonster has got baffles me sometime , just because they are from yg . They are such talented girls . Like that is a cool song and Ahyeon said in one of behind the scenes that every song should not be taken seriously and its just a fun song , It actually depends on how u see it , for me its nothing big that should be scandalized. Also I think unlike Blackpink , Babymonster has a much more versatile discography with rnb, pop , ballad, hip hop all in one mini album.
Great comments and clip selections regarding the "overdancing" accusations. Found myself saying, "yeahhh... yeah... yeahhhhhhh..." throughout that entire segment.
I thought people were overreacting and yhe clips were edited to make her look bad so I went and found the clips and made that segment myself. The adding moves is the giveaway that the criticism is valid. But people just took it too far as usual
@@Natasha.Louisee Tbh it reminds me of those comedy shorts idol groups will post where they juxtapose one idol barely even doing the dance at 10%, one idol doing it normally at 100%, and one idol way overdoing the dance at 1,000%. Like, nuance matters. More is not always more. However, she is still so young and so early in her career that she's way more than capable of fine-tuning the energy of her performances in the future, as we've already seen her attempting to do.
I think in terms of babymonster getting out of blackpink’s shadow, it is possible. For example, I remember when TXT debuted they too had similar issues in being the successors and yet also in being in BTS’s shadow. Which is definitely an extremely big hole to fill. The constant comparisons in the media and their follower counts dropping a week after debut along with hate from (that) fandom it was pretty insane. But they did eventually make a name for themselves it just took a minute, they dont receive the same amount of animosity as they did around debut anymore. With that being said, I feel like if YG plays their cards right with the style and the direction of the group, they’ll be able to make a name for themselves. although knowing YG it will definitely take a minute before they get to that point if they ever choose to that is.
I think the difference was that from the start txt’s concept was different to the concept of bts (or at least the current concept bts had at the time of txt’s debut). Whereas baemon and blackpink both use the girl crush concept with not much difference at all. I think YG definitely could expand on Baby Monsters concept and take it somewhere more than just the ‘bad girl better than the rest’ type of concept but knowing YG I doubt they will. If it makes money YG hasn’t had a history or changing it.
as one of the biggest BABYMONSTER fans out there (been there even before predebut era) I can definitely agree and say that YG could’ve marketed them better than just BLACKPINK sister group. I do love how they got them doing things differently than BP like having more ballads and more vocal based songs but right now it feels like they’re still trying to find their niche which is completely fine because they just debuted!
As a black person about the ahyeon n word thing she was like 14 or 15 and she can learn from her mistakes I don’t hate her do I think it’s a bit ignorant yes but she’s a kid and most of these scandals are that of not knowing the significance of the word and as long as it’s never repeated and we can’t say she fully knew the meaning of it I am not going to be mad at her
(Disclaimer:before I reply to your comment I don’t hate BABYMONSTER Nether do I use this as an excuse to hate on her)Sorry 14 and 15 is MORE than old enough for anyone to know the meaning of the N word and as somebody who’s not black I was like 12-13 when she said it and I knew the meaning and mind you she was fluent in English and has studied hip hop culture but I do agree people can change but in my opinion I just think it’s not excusable
Yeah that was my exact reaction and wanted to look further into why this problem keeps happening. So from what I learned is that they may be taught English or even fluent but they aren't taught the significance behind these curse words or certain slurs in the English language at all. They just see them as words until they finally learned later in life why certain words were offensive to certain groups of people. That's ignorance but not racist unless they keep doing it while knowing the significance behind said words. But yeah another annoying thing is white people being offended for us.
Ok I’d like to update myself when I made this comment it seemed like I was saying that it’s ok and we should all forgive the idols who’ve said it however I would like to say that that is not my stance it’s completely up to you if you choose to forgive these idols just because I have (well maybe not exactly all of them it’s a case to case situation)doesn’t mean you have to it’s your choice completely and I respect your decision to not forgive them just as much as I would respect your decision to forgive them just for clarification
I remember when Ateez was getting a lot of flack for “being too much”. It is a bit different when it’s only one member, but criticism from kpop stans is always over the top and borderline hate. Let the girl grow.
You synchronised your dance choreography in MV and dance practice. In live performances, the fans are there to watch the performance live. They don't want to watch an exact performance of the recorded dance practice. The members need to be creative to hype up the crowd and give them an unforgettable experience. For me, Ahyeon performance in live performances are just incredible
ahyeon's dancing is so obviously a stunt for further jennie comparisons and just solidified that theyre similar for other reasons besides being under the same company honestly. yg has never been innovative and that was never going to be the route that bm was going for. they need the bp comparisons. i don't see the need to debunk that bc its not that crazy of a marketing tactic and its not like it's an immoral decision. im very surprised they were willing to make a member pull this stunt again bc its so bizarre that they so happen to be two members under the same company that look and sound the same slacking off, its so obviously on purpose its pitiful
All country music artists makes the same genre and people listen to them. Many rock music artist make the same type of rock music and people choose what they like to hear. Music is not always about having your own identity. You can make all type of music and musician as long as u are capable. And the girls are capable of doing so. If they make the same style and twice, black pink, Ive, newjeans, Arian grande, pop, jazz, rock, I don’t mind it as long as a song is good people will listen. And they are doing good so fall even much better than some 4th gen so I don’t know why people complain
@@iagreewithyou3478 no it’s not that. You people always wants to complicate things but one thing you need to know in this life. Mistakes always happens, so you need to simplify life. Kpop Stan has this type of hatred towards other group members because they are not their favourite. So if you get one chance to diminish them it’s like you are in the war. Enjoy music guys. Music is not about competition or your favourite. Music is entertainment. If one artist doesn’t entertain you move on and enjoy the other one who entertain you but don’t bring hatred to them just because you are jealous or mad of their success. No body is perfect and no one will be. So for ahyeon she made a mistake but life continues unless she makes it again that’s when it becomes a problem but she learned consider that she was young I don’t hold any grudge towards her cause that’s a simple thing to do for everyone especially when you are singing. So my friend I am not a bad person or anything is jut you guys needs to learn to not hate other groups members only because you don’t stab them. Just leave them and Stan your favourite and that’s good
people need to allow 16 year olds be cringe come on i'm also kinda sad that most grown up people don't meet the demands they impose on these minors why do you compare a lot of super young kids to a legendady (i mean it's pretty much a fact) group. as far as i remember bp debuted when they were more grown up and all of that is just too much pressure. and also we don't know if yg does anything to relieve this pressure(
I mean, yeah, ahyeon is under dancing because of the hate comments, but i feel like she's old enough to know that this is a part of her job unfortunately, she needs to learn how to be professional at least on stage, only listen to the criticism and try her best to ignore the hate comments, at least learn how to lie to herself saying "those comments don't bother me", not trying to compare anyone but Wonyoung went through the same thing on basically the same age, and now she's known for being unbother by it, ahyeon can do the same
0:48 correction: batter up was released on november 27, 2023 and sheesh was on april 1, 2024. i believe the former was pre-debut and the latter was the official debut.
Like most Lisa fans have no problem with the Thai baemon members it’s the non blinks and non monstiez who always bash them for “trying to be like Lisa” and same goes for ahyeon when ppl compare her to Jennie most blinks support baemon and it’s mostly blonks who are causing problems babymonster are also big fans of blackpink so it’s weird to me when ppl generalize blinks has the ones hating on them
Per the "adult" styling: It isn't just a matter of the styling being revealing or sexy, but genuinely mature. I (rightfully) got called out for making slightly thirsty comments about how great Rami looked in a suit in the "Like That" video because she's 16 and I had no idea. Come on, though, what 16 year old looks like they just rolled straight out of the C-suite onto the music video set? That shit is just misleading. 😂
@@Natasha.Louisee Hahaha glad it isn't just me. She has a very mature essence, I suppose? It's crazy how difficult it can be to properly gauge people's ages, particularly when they're being styled in ways that don't align with expectations for that age bracket. I'm in the opposite boat, personally... still getting carded for wine when I'll be 40 next year. Is it the giant bows? Who knows, but I am not mad about it.
As a black kpop stan I've sadly got used to idols saying the n word. But what I really care about Personally is if they apologise and show how sincere they are. For example julie from kiof probably has one of the best apologies I've ever seen from a kpop idol (Im to lazy to type out why but her apology is pretty good) but there are are some apologies that are kinda questionable like giselles from aespa (this hurts bc aespa is my ult) but I feel like it just depends on if they are actually sorry and didn't even to hurt anyone (ignorance), or are just apologising to get people off there backs
I hate when people are like "Oh, we were just criticizing them! Not our fault they are too sensitive" and they said the most hateful stuff on the planet. The lack of empathy in people astounds me
Ok, so I’m on the side of people who believes Ahyeon was overperforming, but I’ve seen people saying she was selfish and stuff 💀 I just don’t like her performance style, and it’s annoying for “Ahyeon before and after” videos to pop up on my feed. But hey, it’s easy to just avoid watching her perform. It’s pretty simple really.
I disagree about what you said during the comparison part. YG definitely could've avoided the comparisons between BP and BM had they gave them a completely different concept and sound. SM has bajillion groups but each has a distinctive persona that it will be impossible for people to compare them in terms of conceptually and sonically. You can't compare Aespa and Red Velvet's music because they are in completely different territories, both are trying to capture different demographics so SM can study about what each demographic wants and put all the things they've studied onto their next group, then the next one, then the other one, then it'll keep going on. YG on the other hand is trying to capture the exact same demographic with all of their groups, this is why when you see a Babymonster fan you'll notice they're mostly a fan of other YG groups. Different from SM groups' fanbases who wish the downfall of SM groups they do not stan 24/7. It's good in paper but not good in the long run because YG have trapped themselves in a bubble. While yes YG has its own brand that they've successfully made for themselves but it's becoming outdated. This is why I feel babymonster's popularity's kinda fake because the only ones who are talking about them are just YG's fanbase.. a very loud minority. People barely know who Ahyeon is so her being labeled as an it girl is crazy.
As a black Kpop stan, whenever Kpop idols mouth or say the N word I'm more disappointed than offended 😥😒☹️. They should know better but they still did it anyway. More Koreans don't seem to care about this but international ones do (for the most part). The fact that neither YG or Ahyeon addressed it made me a bit mad but I don't expect anything less coming from YG. Love the bow Natasha it looks so cute on u and thank you for responding to my last comment where I mentioned Baemon❤🤩🤗
For me I’m more pissed off cus the thing is they DO know better. They CHOOSE to say the n word.. they know they can do it cus many non black kpop Stan’s are racist as hell
Am a black k pop fan and I don’t mind those shit. Artist always makes songs for people to sing it. Then a young child age 13 is singing and she doesn’t know anything at the moment. She is just vibing the song because she likes it. If you don’t want people to sing that then don’t put it in the song. Cause a very young child will listen to a song and if he/she likes it and memorize the song she/he will sing it or make a mistake and sing it it doesn’t mean he/she is the problem. The problem is who put tht in the song if you don’t want people to sing tht. I forgive ahyeon and as I see her she seem like a genuine person. Whether she apologize or not I don’t mind it or I want is for them to keep realizing good songs like they have been doing this past months.
@user-tx5gf8co4o just because you forgive her doesn't make the problem any less worse ahyeon isn't stupid she learned these lyrics and practiced them so she should know her actions would affect her career anyways she isn't a child who doesn't have access to the rest of the world especially in thus industry where n word scandals are frequent it's unlikely she didn't know about its meaning plus you don't speak for the whole black community what may not be offensive to you could be offensive to many other people who have faced racism problems in there life. Plus putting out a simple apology isn't hard either all ahyeon needed to do is apologise and poof problem solved is it really that hard?
Why can't they say it when it's part of the lyrics? They aren't using it as an insult, the artist that made the song literally put it there to sing it.
@@ignaciotorovillacura6342 thank you. The artist herself put that lyrics in the song expecting the fans to sing along with her sooo?? May be I understand ahyeon was not educated enough to those things only because she was young. But overall me am always agianst those artist who put those things in the songs children will listen to it and sing it when they like the song and that’s not their problems.
5:59 yeah I agree especially since they have the same concept I feel like if they functioned more like SMs and most of hybrid girl groups or jyp with different concepts they'd have less comparison but MV call backs transitions plus the members looking up to black pink it'll be rough
I'm 15 yo (asian) and it also bother me when companies debut literal minors (especially like 11-16 ys) and make them sing inappropriate lyrics or dancing inappropriately and etc. But I don't think that wearing short skirts are inappropriate becuz a lot of teens (including me) wear them as well.. I do understand the fact that they are popular and ofc 'popular ppl get hate for anything they do.' But as minor I would litteraly die with that much hate especially with all the problems going on behind the scenes. So yeah I do agree with the fact that kpop companies shouldn't debut idols.
I really appreciated your thoughtful yet empathetic response or moreso, choice of no response to the “n word” controversy. That’s the most balanced take I’ve heard in a minute
I think the debuting of minors for most companies is because they can keep them under that company for a much longer time. Let’s say a female trainee joins Sm at age 11 for example and after training for 5 years at 16 she debuts. Her contract expires in 7 years when she’s 23(most kpop contracts are 7yrs or less). At that point she’s still pretty young and can keep going so she re signs cause of added benefits Sm says it will give and at age 30 after 14 years in the kpop industry she leaves Sm to have a family. She was under sm for 14yrs and let’s say she’s a soloist who sells 500k-1M album sales with two albums per year(both full and mini) and she’s released 28 albums under SM. Now say each album is 30$ usd. Now that’s 15-30M$ per album(in usd). Multiplied by the 28 total albums. That’s 420-840 million dollars in usd gained from all the album sales or 587 billion to 1.1 trillion dollars in won earned from this one idol over 14 years. That is bank and I think that’s why most company’s do that cause they can earn profits like that from a young soloist or a group of young idols.
I really like how you acknowledge a grey area btw liking a group and feeling weird about minors in it Musically, like that is my fave from stuff i have heard from babymon but the lyrics are definitely too mature for the girls YG's style and branding in general is too mature for the girls, like even when its technically age appropriate songs like forever really feel like these girls are too young to fully understand what they are singing about Thinking back on it, the reason why BP's concept worked so well for them and when they burst on the scene is bcs they were all 19 and above (which is still pretty young, im aware) and it made sense for them to essentially be projected as these cool (college-aged) role model types. Babymon im a bit like,, yall are kids i don't feel a cool aura
I kinda have to agree with the staning minors situation. I’m a legal adult now and about to go to college. So you will not be catching me hanging up posters of minors in my dorm lol. But we are reaching a time where the college and older high school k pop fans are staning their demographic. Kiss of life would be the example with their youngest being 18. Twice, blackpink, Bts, are all way older now and have grew up with their fans. So to see someone like baby monster try to get Black pink fans to Stan Baby monster. It’s almost ironic because they are way older then the actual members. But the music baby monster brings to the table is ok.
04:00 This argument does track as well, because men have been wearing much more clothing than girls or women and have zero complaints. It’s funny how there’s always an excuse to wear less but when it comes to equality there’s just no fairness to show for it.
Aw thank you so much, you're too kind 😭thank you for being a supporter for so long~ I hope i convince you to stick around for the whole time 💖✨️ I'll always be true to my own opinion no matter what
I just discovered your channel! You are sooo pretty❤ btw i did find a little mistake at 5:06 where you said 16 year old ahyeon, but as of 2024 ahyeon is 17 :)
I knooow who you remind me of. The actress who played Anna from Inventing Anna haha. You look amazing and can even wear an alien mask if you want, I just like your videos and the way you speak your mind. Nice work! ❤
7:24 I feel like this complaint is made is mainly because YGE (not Chiqie herself) CLEARLY pushes her in that direction. They are purposely aligning her in the path modeled after Lisa giving her considerably comparable outfits & hairstyles as well as how they direct her to act. It’s known that companies are the ones who decide the idols personas in the group so I wouldn’t be shocked if this is why YGE is presenting & marketing Chiquita as somewhat a “mini Lisa”. As that’s why I imagined YG had them meet on Babymon’s present TH-cam show because not only was it important for Lisa to speak encouragement into a fellow Thai girl in the company, but obviously to make audiences draw connections between the two. I’ve been I school for marketing for the last 5-6 years, so to me it was clear that YG was hoping Chiquita will be able to pick up some residual Lisa stans onto her side which has worked to some extent, hence why there’s so much comparison between them. A smart play, especially considering once that wears off Chiquita will be at the point of having a stable fanbase like the rest of her members if not more popular like Ahyeon.
everytime you post i feel so much better all ur videos are so well made and i could listen to you talking for hours on end i love u natasha keep up the good work❤❤❤
I started being interested in kpop when idols were 10+ years older than me and now they're 10+ years younger than me... As I'm not a teenager anymore I also changed how I perceive liking a group. I'm not a stan anymore, I just casually listen to music but I'm also watching all the kpop news etc. When I was younger, I really couldn't wait until there are more idols of the same age as me (but I was already over 16 then) so I don't think that debuting minors is inherently that bad, but only when they appeal to younger audiences.
I think the sampling "issue" was intentional by YG to draw comparisons between Blackpink and Baemon. Seems very strange that the (exact) same sample was used, especially when YG knew there would be comparisons. This is likely because it's a lot easier to generate attention for a new group by using something that's already popular (Blackpink), rather than starting completely from scratch. And when the comparison storm settled after Sheesh, they had tons of eyes on them for their subsequent comeback(s), so it pretty much worked out in YG's favor.
Yes I see a lot hating on Chiquita by saying she is “copying” lisa it’s really stupid but there are also a lot who are stanning her for that same reason.. because she reminds them of Lisa. Chiquita has been very vocal about Lisa being her idol and role model so that adds to the situation cause antis use that as “proof” to insinuate she knows what’s she’s doing. As if a 15 year old looking up to their successful senior, also of the same nationality means that they’re using her clout or something. This is also really prevalent with is Rami and Ahyeon. People compare Rami and Rosé alot, as well as Jennie and Ahyeon. Now part of the reason is also cause the members have specifically stated that rose and Jennie are their biases/role models respectively. But especially in Ahyoeons case cause she said in an interview that she doesn’t mind the “little Jennie” title & really looks up to her, but with the hate she’s currently getting (a lot of it being similar to Jennie’s hate train as a rookie being accused of over performing and trying to outshine her members to her then being ‘lazy’ because she toned down her performances after all the hate, & also called stuck up cuz she can’t take criticism etc) people are now saying she’s the next Jennie. Some say it as a compliment claiming that this is a sign she’ll be the next it girl/hit it big while others mean it in the sense that this hate will affect her negatively like it did for Jennie. Of course Jennie was 20 when she experienced it and now I think she is mentally much stronger, hate doesn’t seem to affect her as much, but Ahyeon is still a minor and is obviously struggling with the hate. It took jennie years to recover and not care abt haters but fans are worried that might not be the case for Ahyeon.
my thing with the lyric issue is with the lyrics “say you want love boy i know what that means MAKE IT FEEL WAY BETTER THAN IN YOUR DREAMS????” from like that
Can't wait for the day when they'll finally be BabyMonster and not just BLACKPINK's sisters. (No hate to them,I absolutely LOVE BP and BM it's just this identity thing. Just because they're from the same company it doesn't mean they're the same.)
i do agree that the lyrics of "like that" are inappropriate, probably the same level as cookie because that song was literally written by a grown man (charlie puth) who had released his own version of the song. i think yg should've changed a couple of the lyrics to make it more appropriate, but that's just my opinion 🤷🏾♀️
yesss like that is sooo charlie puth and when i learned that the song was written by him i wasn't at all surprised. they def should've acknowledged that charlie puth is a grown man though and his lyrics aren't quite the best for 16 yr olds to be singing…
I absolutely love Ahyeon, but she does need to learn to tone it down a little 😂 I think her passion for performance in incredible. You can tell she is so damn excited to finally be on stage after so many years of hard work. After some more practice I think she will be a great performer and center for Babymonster. I can't choose a bias out of Ahyeon, Asa and Ruka lol
As someone who stanned BoA when they were 11 and thought it was "so cool" that she debuted at age 14/15(??) Minors def dont know fuckin anything 🤣🤣🤣 bc like why did i think that was cool 😱😱😱
I see SO many comments saying something like: “Wonyoung at 13: On produce 48 Me at 13: being lazy and eating snacks in my bed” Like you shouldn’t be idolising the fact that someone who should be in school is out on stage in a dangerous industry, and I saw those type of comments underneath Wonyoung’s side to side cover in pd48 when she was 13. It’s definitely better to just be a child and not in the spotlight. I’ve been a kpop stan since I was 10, and I always understood the industry and never really wanted to be an idol, but the amount of people who were my age who don’t know anything about what goes on just concerns me. And these are the same people who try to audition to companies with a long history of sexualising minors
I love blackpink since they debut❤........the problem with YG and other kpop companies debuting minors are the problem.....blackpink and babymonster songs are very similar....and their stylist should consider their their age before give them reveling clothes
I feel like the innuendos in Like That are quite mild. They seem age appropriate for teenagers to me. Same goes for Red Velvet's Ice Cream Cake. Cookie is on a whole other level of messed up, that song should never have been made.
i feel like the lyrics in “like that” are too racy for a group with 5/7 kids in it. like, the wording alone makes some implications that are obvious for anyone that is older than 12 years old. i know stans will argue that because they’re not explicit, there’s wiggle room there, but i feel like that severely underestimates people’s intelligence. something being cryptically inappropriate is still inappropriate. it SHOULD gross you out that those lines were given to minors. it isn’t a case of needing to get your mind out of the gutter (because my assumption is that is the most common rebuttal to lyrical criticism)
What BabyMonster lacks is the global/international perspective that BlackPink had due to their upbringing. That's something only living abroad and growing up in a culture outside of Korea can give you if you want to connect with the Western and International market that BabyMonster lacks.
I feel that with minors in group and stanning them as a grown up. Just because I dont feel well with stanning a group in which major part are minors does not mean I dont wish them to be succesfull or that I dont like their music. Its more an icky feeling, knowing which dangers are outside there for minors. Of couse many dangers for idols are still out there even when they legally grown ups. But children needs to be protected even more.
i find the comparison between lisa and chiquita kinda annoying tbh, i never thought it was only bc they were thai but also bc they had a similar hairstyle back in the last evaluation, it was kinda inevitable i think lol even one of the members told chiquita they looked alike
i dont necessarily blame like thats lyrics on the group or the company bc charlie puth took it upon himself to gift the song to bm bc of ahyeons cover so honestly i give him side eye for choosing that song to give the girls
Hi, love watching your videos. I love the way you voice your opinion on different topics. Can you make a video on Unis? Mainly because I want to hear your input on how there are so many minors in the group. thankyou🥰🥰
As someone who's not a Blink, I don't really see Baby Monster being in BP's shadow. I can see that BP is huge, but they're not the first thing I think of when I think "girl crush"? Because I listened to older gen girl groups and artists like 4Minute and 2NE1 who were kind of edgy. Lots of the edgy music sound the same to me (but that doesn't mean I dislike it), which is why I don't think they're in some "shadow," lol. If anything, maybe I think every edgy new group is in an older gen's shadow, but that doesn't make them insignificant. If anything, why not like a new group that's so much like the one you already like?
Not everyone will Like what you do. Even bts some people doesn’t like them and that’s oke. But when people brings hate toward you and complain about everything you are doing and people over analyzing all the things you are doing just know that you are doing very great. Cause always people will always hate to those who are being successful. So in terms Beamon people will hate because they are seeing the success the girls are getting and get jealous and mad about it and that’s the nature of human beings especially in this K-pop industry. Success= hate especially in girls groups. Keep going girls the future is bright
Ahyeon did do an apology. She worte it and her friend posted it which got immediately taken down because she was told to do so from the company. And her friend had to post an apology for posting it. The other thing is that most people don't know the origin of the N word ending in gga vs the gger version of it. The gga version of the word was created in the Hip Hop community in the 80s. And it was meant as more of a brotherly type of saying. The gger version of the word was used in the 1800s by mostly white people for the name they used for their slaves. Now there still is controversy in using either since the gga version is used by people in the Hip Hop community and if you are not a part to it then it is more like a cultural appropriation type of thing. She was actually notice not being a part of member activities in June of 2023 and the video was first reported in May 2023. So the statement that YG Entertainment made was, "Although we are saddened to be unable to introduce Ahyeon as a member of BABYMONSTER, we made this decision for the sake of the artist’s health. We will spare no support so that Ahyeon can recover fully and return in good health." They were technically supposed to debut around the August date making it exactly 7 years from BLACKPINK's debut with 7 members. But the date got pushed back with YG Entertainment statement in September saying that they are trying to find the right song for BABYMONSTER to debut with. The in November we hear from YG that BABYMONSTER will debut as a six member group. The delay wasn't about them trying to find the right song to debut with. They were waiting to see if Ahyeon woulc be able to debut with them The thing about BABYMONSTER being VLACKPINK 2.0 is the same that BLACKPINK being 2NE1 2.0. I think that you are right that debuting in YG as a girl group is a little difficult dinvr they get compared to their seniors. Mostly because they take a long time to debut a girl group. So far it has been 7 years between each group. Which is the reason that I think that it is weird that we are in 5th gen right now. In the past it was about 7 years between generations. So third gen starts some where around 2018 and it should have ended around 2025. But hey in 2025 there is a chance that we see all three groups on stage. I hope YG can make it happens. it would be awesome to have there different generations sll on one dyshr
@@lolanxtdoor I did say that she did apologize but she wan't able to post it herself. Her friend Kaeun had to take it down and then apologized for posting it because YG Entertainment wasn't going to post it.
My biggest issue with them is that they don't feel genuine. I know every kpop group is also "fake," but for example, NewJeans brand of fakeness is more on par with their style, but Babymonster's doesn't, perhaps because their concept seems a lot more grown than the members are. Besides that, the ending of their songs are also always pretty bad. I thought Batter Up and Forever were okay, but the last third of the songs just kinda crash for me, kind of like Pink Venom from Blackpink. Sheesh was also awful.
I love Babymonster is my 2nd favorite girl group and I feel so bad for them cause they have so much potential and are amazing but they are behind and being shadowed by Blackpink
U look like a freaking goddess omg but I Stan Babymonster and I feel people should go easier on them because at the end of the day they are mostly minors ion have an opinion on ahyeon n word situation bc im WHITE AND ITS NOT MY PLACE but ion think kpop stans that Stan groups that have said the word multiple times or have done something racist should come for ahyeon bc its honestly double standards
What I think is, Baemon music being similar to Blackpink is okay, but even some voices feel forced to sound like Jennie, Lisa or Rose; noticed that mostly on Forever, but idk, its what I hear
Here’s the problem about the copying blackpink thing… any girl (group) under the YG or it’s sub labels is going to be compared. The only exception is probably (I’m so sorry I forgot her name) the girl from AKMU. It’s always gonna be a problem… it’s happening with Somi too.
Any girl group under YG is going to be accused of copying blackpink becuase YG literally only has 2 active girl groups (yeah I know that 2ne1 is coming back but you understand what I mean). So when you have only have 1 active girl group for a very long time and then you debut another girl group with the exact same concept of course they’re going to be compared to the group that came before them.
I'd simply just CRY being the successor of BlackPink.
"Pick somebody else 😐"
this is shading bp or praising them…
@ababyrainbow_3099 they're praising~ because it's really hard to follow after such an amazing group

I am 20 years old and genuinely feel awkward stanning someone younger than me. I can listen to their music if I like it, but can never become a stan stan.
Exactly how I feel with gen 4 and gen5 groups. I.cant Stan them but I can listen to them it just feels weird for me.

Nahhh wth... That's kinda weird....
I agree with everything u said like I never understood how ppl would say they are copying blackpink when both groups are very different as well
"I initially disliked the song but it grew on me" basically defined my reactions to all songs by Blackpink and BabyMonster lol
"if kpop stans could stay on topic, things would be so much easier, we could have better conversations" THANK YOU
as one of the biggest BABYMONSTER fans out there (been there even before predebut era) I can definitely agree and say that YG could’ve marketed them better than just BLACKPINK sister group.

Lots of ppl forget that YG girl groups have a similar concept because the company mostly aims for girl crush / power etc
People will hate someone when they feel insecure😂😂same goes to BP and BM because they're great talents
Why am I disgusted with how you think? It's like your comment says a lot more about you than anything.
YG literally said batter up was their debut. you can't take that back lmao

To be fair I was so shocked when I round out specifically Rami's age
@@Natasha.Louisee Hahaha glad it isn't just me. She has a very mature essence, I suppose? It's crazy how difficult it can be to properly gauge people's ages, particularly when they're being styled in ways that don't align with expectations for that age bracket. I'm in the opposite boat, personally... still getting carded for wine when I'll be 40 next year. Is it the giant bows? Who knows, but I am not mad about it.
Rami looks more mature. Even without styling she looks like an adult. It's because of her face structure.

@@chuuislovechuuislife I agree. People should just avoid things they don't like if they have nothing constructive to say
Amazing video! I agree with all your points! Im glad I found this channel you’re the only one I can really agree with! Congrats on 10K!🥳
I really like how you acknowledge a grey area btw liking a group and feeling weird about minors in it
Musically, like that is my fave from stuff i have heard from babymon but the lyrics are definitely too mature for the girls
YG's style and branding in general is too mature for the girls, like even when its technically age appropriate songs like forever really feel like these girls are too young to fully understand what they are singing about
Thinking back on it, the reason why BP's concept worked so well for them and when they burst on the scene is bcs they were all 19 and above (which is still pretty young, im aware) and it made sense for them to essentially be projected as these cool (college-aged) role model types.
The reason I followed u Natasha because u always have a way of expressing ur self intelligently, keep up the great work! 👍
04:00 This argument does track as well, because men have been wearing much more clothing than girls or women and have zero complaints.

GURLLL YOU LOOK LIKE A GODDESS
I know that is not the theme of the video, but you are PERFECT 😭❤
my thing with the lyric issue is with the lyrics “say you want love boy i know what that means MAKE IT FEEL WAY BETTER THAN IN YOUR DREAMS????” from like that
Can't wait for the day when they'll finally be BabyMonster and not just BLACKPINK's sisters.
(No hate to them,I absolutely LOVE BP and BM it's just this identity thing. Just because they're from the same company it doesn't mean they're the same.)
Imagine apologizing for being too pretty, a flex honestly
you're not trying to be pretty, you're succeeding (you're so pretty
i do agree that the lyrics of "like that" are inappropriate, probably the same level as cookie because that song was literally written by a grown man (charlie puth) who had released his own version of the song. i think yg should've changed a couple of the lyrics to make it more appropriate, but that's just my opinion 🤷🏾♀️
They did, they debuted TREASURE. Which goes to show that it’s almost impossible to distance BLACKPINK from BABYMONSTER
@@ka8932 oh good to know
yesss like that is sooo charlie puth and when i learned that the song was written by him i wasn't at all surprised. they def should've acknowledged that charlie puth is a grown man though and his lyrics aren't quite the best for 16 yr olds to be singing…
I honestly love babymonster…l am a monstiez
I see SO many comments saying something like:
“Wonyoung at 13: On produce 48
Me at 13: being lazy and eating snacks in my bed”
Like you shouldn’t be idolising the fact that someone who should be in school is out on stage in a dangerous industry, and I saw those type of comments underneath Wonyoung’s side to side cover in pd48 when she was 13.
New comfort TH-camr spotted
That's something only living abroad and growing up in a culture outside of Korea can give you if you want to connect with the Western and International market that BabyMonster lacks.
girl, you are allowed to look pretty help. glam yourself up anytime you want tbh. you always look gorgeous too
I feel that with minors in group and stanning them as a grown up.
The Vocalist Show Time .Rami Lee Mujin Service Ep. 125.Forever,City Burn, Blood Sucker. Insane
i dont necessarily blame like thats lyrics on the group or the company bc charlie puth took it upon himself to gift the song to bm bc of ahyeons cover so honestly i give him side eye for choosing that song to give the girls
Hi, love watching your videos. I love the way you voice your opinion on different topics. Can you make a video on Unis? Mainly because I want to hear your input on how there are so many minors in the group. thankyou🥰🥰
i love BM. they seem kinda like a mix of BP and Ive by having that BP sound but going for more elegant outfits
Not everyone will
Like what you do.
They were waiting to see if Ahyeon woulc be able to debut with them
The thing about BABYMONSTER being VLACKPINK 2.0 is the same that BLACKPINK being 2NE1 2.0.
Can you comment on dear alice, the soon-debut British boy group collaborating with SM Entertainment?
OH MY WORD, YOU LOOK LIKE A GIFT TO US WITH THAT HUGE BOW, I'M OBSESSED!!!!!!!( in a non creepy and respectfully respectful way)
i mean ‘like that’ is a song gifted by charlie puth so baemon are just singing the lyrics as intended
Sheesh was also awful.
me who always gets distracted by her beauty😭😭
Chiquita has very different aura from Lisa.. she has softer image to me and is more a vocal member, Lisa is a better and more energetic dancer
Ur not trying too hard to look pretty, u are actually pretty!
Your hairstyle is so beautiful 😍
I love Babymonster is my 2nd favorite girl group and I feel so bad for them cause they have so much potential and are amazing but they are behind and being shadowed by Blackpink
U look like a freaking goddess omg but I Stan Babymonster and I feel people should go easier on them because at the end of the day they are mostly minors ion have an opinion on ahyeon n word situation bc im WHITE AND ITS NOT MY PLACE but ion think kpop stans that Stan groups that have said the word multiple times or have done something racist should come for ahyeon bc its honestly double standards
What I think is, Baemon music being similar to Blackpink is okay, but even some voices feel forced to sound like Jennie, Lisa or Rose; noticed that mostly on Forever, but idk, its what I hear
kiss of life video whennnnn🤗
