  • This is a clip from episode 2 of The Modern Buddhism Podcast, a conversation with Gen Menla, a Buddhist monk who is a caregiver to his Mother, who shares what he has learnt from this experience. He discusses how being a full-time caregiver can be hard, but also a tremendous journey of learning and personal development. Recognising the importance of taking care of yourself, the caregiver, he explains four simple things his teacher recommends to ensure that as a carer we can maintain the energy to benefit others without burnout. For anyone who has found themselves experiencing frustration, exhaustion, and ‘compassion fatigue’, this podcast helps to re-evaluate the importance of self-care for the caregiver.
