- Riding with my son Finn at the Ando's Dirtbike Events Tophouse Trail Ride.
This is the second time we have ridden at Tophouse. This time the track was quite a bit longer at 22km, and after weeks of rain track conditions were very muddy and slippery.
We did three laps before we ran out of energy having just recovered from covid. This video was the first lap.

The best 41 minutes I have ever watched talented young lad and a great dad coach your boys got what it takes to be a pro trust me I’ve been off roading for 40 years and can still keep up with best of the best until my energy runs out 🤣💪👍

I'm not sure if that's actually Chris Birch as a boy or everyone else in NZ just can't ride bikes. he's riding really well for a young fella I think only saw like 2 people over take him the whole clip haha

Yes, thinking about making the trip down. We really enjoyed the Hawarden ride last year, so pretty keen to do it again.

I got a dirt bike for Christmas and I never rode it because its way to slippery so I have to whait till spring

Hey man would a Ktm150xcw be a good first bike for me I'm 5.8 5.9 65kg and will it be to much will probably be riding Canterbury trails
Hi mate. The 150XCW would be a nice trail bike. It would depend a bit on how much riding you've done before. It it's your very first bike you might be better to start on something tamer like a KLX140 or TTR125.
Yeah. That's a good fit. Have u had any other bike before. Might be hard to start on but should be fine just take u longer to get use to.
@@liamwilson1948 no I have not had a bike before so I will probably go with something like a klx140g as its a taller lower power bike as Ben said it might be a bit much

@@LJ_Adventure79 yeah a klx140g/l would be great for a learner. Another option is a crf250f, it's a bit bigger than a 140g but isn't as big as other 250s. And has enough power to go anywhere, and if it is to tall for you there's always the lowering link kit or u can shorten the shock. But yeah a ktm 150 xcw would be good aswell but finding one for a decent price might be hard. Plus not many for sale aswell.
