Thanks for this. I’ve been following the silent brand for close to two years now. Quite the amazing boats. These are my dream boats. I believe their first(Silent55) was the first all electric production cat to cross the Atlantic. I’ve not seen an owner boat in the wild. This is so interesting to me. It would be something if they’ed give you a more in depth tour. I could probably give you 20 questions to ask😂
On another note, I’m really looking forward to seeing the build of the guy who says he can do it for $600k. That would be entertainment at its finest. 17 Kw of solar, 5 controllers, 4 large inverters, and 49 batteries. Considering wiring and incidentals and all the other technical equipment, there’s probably close to 40% of his budget or more.
We’ve been following Silent Yachts from the beginning as well. The first solar yacht we saw from them was a 44’ conversion. They’ve come a long way. Kinda bummed that they keep going bigger instead of ‘cruiser’ sized.
Love to see that $600K build as well. I’m sure it’ll be awesome 🤓

How do you access the generator and technical rooms when the vessel is stopped while at sea ?
Through the sugar scoop access. This is a common access point for many cats.
Would love to know what their monthly costs are for that yacht since it is solar and all electric.

Getting seasick just trying to watch. You are panning too fast, not pausing any time on key aspects.
And no discussion with the owners about what it's like to live on, run, and more. Some discussion you did have was inaudible.

These go for $2-3 Million. It feels like they got a $500K boat, put $100K worth of solar, battery, motor and marking it up $2 million. Just build your own.

the solar may only be 100K, but the batteries and control systems are really where much of the money is. They did a lot of work with these boats to optimize volume vs. power. I'd love to have one, but they are well out of my budget.
