I'm from chengdu I've been living in the US for 5 years now. Planning to move back, the life quality in chengdu Is just a lot better than the US to be honest.
I was in Beijing a few years ago. One day, it was raining and cold outside. I called up a friend from Beijing but live in the US. I ask him for advice what to do in a raining day in Beijing. He recommended me to go to a spa that was very similar to this one and was even more grandiose decorated. It costed $40 USD for up to 12 hrs stay. It including a very good buffet with so many variety of dishes. There is a library, a gym, resting area, and massage parlors (with extra payment).
Locals usually take shower first, then hot spring for different tempreture, then shower again, then bursh teeth and blow dry the hair then get dressed then enjoy food and games and mid night for massage and sleep on a public massage chair or private massageroom then goto work next day.
I once booked a spa + Roman bath in Vegas Caesar Palace. It was 300 USD, back in 2014...... can’t imagine the price now with the inflation. And it was a 2 hour massage session and I could arrive one hour early for the bath, with no food, limited selection of drinks. And in this video this is a form of NE China bathhouse but with more ummm, user friendly lol. Normally they’d charge you for drinks in NE China. Yet the entry fee and massages there are cheaper than here in ChengDu, like half of the price. So it’s a gain and loss thing lol

Hi Flora and Note that was the most interesting spa I’ve ever seen..I like the casual atmosphere and everyone in their robe does kinda seem like a very relaxing community. Wow you folks really like your meat, no lagging in the appetite area. I liked the brief karaoke clip wish I could have heard more,Flora you have a nice voice..as well as Note ..the harmony was great. Spa like this is a go to place for us southern Chinese during winter 😂 since we don’t have central heating and AC isn’t doing much during winter. Going to Spa would be a nice way to spend the weekend, usually super crowded though 😅
This kind of spa is common in China, this one is one of the excellent ones, most of the others are not as big or provide as much but they are much cheaper, less than half this price. This one is excellent value for the money, there are more expensive spas but not all of them are as good as this one, just the foods alone are worth the money.

Those big spas/bathhouses in many Chinese cities are very nice and a must visit. By comparison, the Spa Castle in NYC costs around $100 per person to enter. Food/drinks are extra. Most importantly, spas/bathhouses in the US just can’t be compared to spas in China in term of scale, luxury, and value for the money………my guess is that they are just too expensive to operate for all the reasons you can imagine (a few lawsuits the owner is done) and the price would attract no customers if such bathhouse is opened anywhere within the US……….sad…..

The infratructure of spas are top-notch in the Northeast area but too many ppl there don't follow the basic spa etiquettes, like taking cell phones in nude area, smoking in non-smoking areas and talking very loud. Also, is there an area I can leave my luggage (one carry on) - like front area or bigger locker so I can be there and go to the airport after spa? Also, what is their business hours?
Yes every city has this kind of spas. Mostly running 24hours which means you could sleep overnight there. According to the luggage you may have to check with them.

I think more and more restaurants in Asia use scan menus. You either use your phone camera to scan or if they have WeChat/AliPay logo then you use the app to scan. But if you aren’t sure, just ask for a menu or they can help you with the app. I’m sure lots of people are still adjusting to it so no need to be nervous.

How does we chat work for scanning? In Australia I hv a new Chinese restaurant I want to go to and you can only scan the menu to pay and order. Out the front was a wechat barcode/symbol on the windows. Have never used it before!
Thanks yeah they told me they do not hv a menu I English so I need to fo this
Welcome to my hometown, Chongqing. Of course, you can also go to Chengdu, which is next to us. They are all very good cities and I believe you will not be disappointed.

Hi and thank you for sharing your experience! Are there vegetarian food options at the spa? And do they allow luggage to be brought in?
