Thank you very much for this video. I am living in California and I was in guangzhou with my parents, 4 siblings and their families,and my 19 year old daughter in 2000. We were at the White Swan for buffet lunch over looking the Pearl River. In the past 5 years, mom has had a stroke and does not travel now. Dad is in good health but he won’t leave mom (mom is still living at home.). They are 85 years old. This video bought me to tears.

It was great to end a trip with a family gathering. Glad to see you started the trip in Xinjiang, Central Asia is definitely an underrated travel destination, which have more unique landscapes on this planet waiting for you to explore, such as the Pamir Plateau (in China&Tajikistan) and Mangystau (in Kazakhstan). And you’ve been to so many different regions of China, wilderness and cities, but I would still like to recommend Beijing in autumn, it’s definitely one of the best cities to visit over the world..

Went to Guangzhou with my friend years ago (1995) when everything was so cheap! Yes, the timsum was very good and so many varieties at that time. What are you paying for the timsum wasn’t bad at all! It costs double for what you had in US. By the way, I used the wax thread technique for my hair and it works great 👍 Thanks for sharing ❤
Those food delivery robots are very cute and it is convenient to order food and get them delivered up to your room. Those robots have this message recording and often play back, “please don’t bother me, I am working”😂.
My plan is to visit China next year. A lot of flights from Thailand have a short layover in Guangzhou. Thanks to your videos I think I'll need to try a few days there first before moving on to Chongqing. Since I live on Koh Samui as well, another option is to fly directly to Hong Kong via Bangkokair first then take a train to Guangzhou. If I may ask, what path did you take to China from Samui?
We didn’t go from Samui. We travelled from Xinjiang all the way to Guangzhou by train/plane. But getting to Guangzhou from HK is really quick and easy.. probably the better option.

Chinese culture everyone fights to pay for the bill at the counter and tells the cashier not to take his or her money but mine..😂😂😂😂the ones that don’t want to pay usually goes to the toilet when that happens and comes out when the bills settled and pretends to goes up to pay and surprised that it’s all paid 😂😂😂😂
I still don’t understand why China gives a lot of beautiful historical buildings to western brands. It feels like those buildings should be for more important things not damn Starbucks. It’s like DJI getting the cathedral in France, it doesn’t make sense. The buildings are part of the historic heritage of the country.
@ it just feels wrong to us westerners. Starbucks is a mediocre coffee brand in the west, together with KFC and McDonald’s and from what I see, they get priority placement in locations everywhere in China. I don’t get it.
Nice Dim Sum restaurant, will add to my list. Noted the 2 sets of chopsticks per customer, one for self and another for “public!” An omission on not to share this dining etiquette with the viewers. No exchange of saliva by using public chopsticks in more formal restaurants. Ancient Chinese wisdom that I grew up with, most of the banquet dining I experienced as a child had 2 sets of chopsticks. Actually, one of the cultural SHOCK in America is most of the restaurants only set the table with 1 fork and a knife, most of the time, could be one fork only. Growing up in Hong Kong, almost all the “Western” restaurants had 3 forks, 3 knives, a butter knife, a soup spoon, a coffee spoon, sometimes a pasta spoon, and a seafood utensil as needed. I thought the whole western world is like that. I am not talking about FANCY western style restaurants, even low class ones…🙄 Btw, excellent and warm episode as usual, can’t wait to watch your HK adventure, my childhood HOME!❤

There are too many ancient buildings in China with a history of 5,000 years. The buildings rented to Starbucks are not protected buildings.
