I went through 4 samples, and I have hundreds of samples I've only sprayed once, of Tobacco Rose. When I first sampled Tobacco Rose I was at Indigo Pafumery, a boutique in Ohio. I become quiet when I smell something I enjoy, especially when I have an emotional response to it. Ann, the boutique proprietor saw my response to Tobacco Rose. Her words were only in an understading smile. I only have one from Liz, Anibus, but I will get Tobacco Rose and Salome. I find those three fragrances to be exceptional. Glad you're having Liz on Ramsey, and the Russian Adam Live Chat was a blast.
Thanks for participating Eddie... glad you could make it ... Russian Adam & Liz Moores on my tiny channel... who woulda thunk it 😂 I think those are three great Papillon frags to own 🍻
Proper life... Happiness, sadness... Proper reviews... Bashing... Hyping stuff you love! :) Thank you man. Looking forward to discover the house fully. So far I had sampled Salome only. It came with about 20+samples of hyped fragrances ( not by you :) from luckyscent. This was the only 1 that truly stood out and I purchased a bottle. Almost finished it in a month or so. Definitely one of the best animalic chypras of our time. Great use of hyrax. Love it.
Thanks to you and your beautiful act of sending me the ingridients i was able to smell the lovely rose & oakmoss & hay & ambergris in this composition ... and its Bulgerian Rose ... one of your favorites 😊🌹
As a bulgarian myself it makes me happy that our roses are so appreciated in perfumary. Ca 70% of the rose oil comes from Bulgaria. It might be not the deepest or heavily saturated rose, but its the most aromatic i think. Rose jam is something incredible to eat!
Thank you for this fantastic review. And what an amazing coincidence that yesterdays Russian Adam interview would touch upon elements of Tobacco Rose. I have the feeling that the ambergris is real. Liz has posted her acquisition of ambergris. Looking forward to the next chapter of your Papillon story.
Great in depth review Ramsey. PAP has been a permanent fixture on my radar since buying Salome a couple of yrs ago, love it. As I do with Anubis and Dryad, must haves imo. Tobacco Rose maybe I need to resample, didn't get why there was Tobacco in the name and I had just bought another fragrance that on my skin was in the same ballpark -Hermes Myrrhe Eglantine. Has that transition from stemmy to jam rose. For me with tobacco Rose it was the interplay between beeswax and rose which came later but all too brief. While with ME the interplay is ongoing. Can't wait to hear what Liz has to say, what a treat! Thanks for taking the time on this, all great prep for meeting Liz. Actually what I meant about not getting the name with Tobacco in it. In a way I was disappointed in the name ( you know me with names!). With Salome, Anubis and Dryad etc great images come to mind. TR doesn't.....Mind you didn't stop me getting Tabac Blond..... I'll let myself out😞
I got a sample of Tobacco Rose from lucky scent a couple of years ago and loved the fragrance as well. I've yet to pull the trigger to purchase a bottle, but it's always been on my want list. Your review and love for the fragrance has reinvigorated my desire for a bottle. Yeah, now i'm going to have to pull the trigger. also, I've been meaning to get a sample of both Anubis and Salome...sigh, too many fragrances not enough dollars, lol.
Great review, great house , Have only one full bottle Spell 125 ,sampled Anubis, and Salome, Salome will be a bottle purchase ,and I will watch intently to your next Papillon reviews and most likely score a bottle or 2 .Saw an interview with Liz a while back ,extremely interesting person with a firm grasp on the old world values of nature and our small part in its huge expanse. Oh getting through the Russian Adam interview really fantastic, love how Adam has opened up so much and chatty like the guy next door kinda thing great stuff. Bottle arrived from Les Abstraits today and I will just say that I am really impressed I kid you not Rams , you think you know the profile, then it’s off on another path ,then it drys to something familiar something I got but can’t place but I know it’s one of my expensive bottles , it is truly something old ,something new, but definitely something that never goes Blue lol cheers buddy have a good one 👍🙏✌️
Love Liz work, one of the best for me, tobacco rose is on my top 3 best roses, and probably has the n1 spot. Bengal rouge is also one of my favorites for that honey and myrrh, although not that noticeable, a stunning rose dipped in honey there too
Hi Ramsey ! We already know enough about Salome and Anubis, so thank you for this review of Tobacco Rose. Liz Moores is wonderful. After the war between niche and designer houses vs IFRA, indipendent perfumers will survive, and Liz is the first lady among them. My rose fragrance of this night in Serbia : Frederic Malle - Portrait of a Lady. Cheers....
So after waiting for my bottle to arrive I finally received Salome. What a fragrance ! I get a resemblance to my vintage femme Rochas but I actually enjoy this more. Thanks for the recommendation Ramsey.
I've been a fan of this house for some time.... One of the least talked about and probably my favorite from the house is Spell 125... Love the story. Love the unique composition. Nothing like it ..... Can't wait for the interview ✌🏻
Wore spell 125 to bed last night .. wasnt the biggest fan ...i would stick with Fille en Aiguiles.... but I really liked her newest frag... will talk about it on the stream today 😊
Hello Ramsey, I just discovered this house and I love Papillon so, so much. I haven't had the chance to sample Tobacco Rose yet, but am hoping to do so soon. I am discovering I really love rose in fragrance and I really enjoyed this video. - Jenn
Thank you Jenn! If you really like Rose, then Tobacco Rose should be a knockout winner... also try and sample Rose de Jamal from les indemodables... amazing Rose fragrance 😊
Thanks for that insightful review! Great to hear from someone who has the opportunity to smell the real quality raw ingredients. Loved both the Russian Adam interviews. A genius of our time. I love Papillon. I recently got a full bottle of Anubis - and am in love with it. It feels like a bold, but, personal every-day kind of scent. I'm trying to decide if I should buy Salome or Tobacco Rose next. Unfortunately, I can't get a sample of either easily where I live. What would you recommend as the next plunge down Papillon? I love my vintage, slightly skanky chypres (like MAAi by Bogue and Paloma Picasso EDP), but I also don't have a rose scent yet. Any thoughts? Thanks again for the work you put into these videos. Cheers!
Thank you so much for the kind words! If you love Animalic Chypres I think Salome will be one of your favorite fragrances of all time. So as far asy personal taste goes I would take Salome over Tobacco Rose. BUT if you dont have a rose fragrance in your collection Tobacco Rose would fill that hole. Beautifully... tough call 🤷♂️
Lol Ramsey, I was gifted a bottle of this today by a friend in a Facebook group. it’s on its way, I’m watching your review first moment for grasping if I’ll like it or not😊
Its amazing its full bottle worthy for sure and if you have ever sniffed real rose otto... pure rose absolute... you will find this fragrance so beautifully recreated that scent along with a beautiful composition built around it 🌹
Man I am loving this house so far... never smelled Bengale Rouge yet but if u liked it enough to buy a full bottle I am even more excited ... great value for $$ too 😊

The beauty of this perfume provokes an emotional reaction. And yet I could also imagine it as a near-daily scent; I can't imagine it ever being inappropriate. You can't ask for more than that.
Spot on in your assessment ... it really is so beautiful and posh and the ingridients smell so natural...I was sitting there smelling bulgarian Rose essential oil and real ambergris and you could almost smell the actual ingridients in the composition of Tobacco Rose ... Glorious

I own it. Lovely natural smelling feminine rose for the first 4 hours, then masculin smelling another 4 hours with the help of ambergris and oakmoss. Dryad is also good, very complex comparing this but the performance is not as good as this one.
@@RamseytheRam Never smelled Bandit before. Not the best dry down (unwashed hair smell) still I'd have purchased a 10 ml decant if it performed as good as Tobacco Rose. Good opening and middle phase with a complex structure.
