When I tried out all of the Tauer fragrances and came upon the sample, I also immediately thought of Bengale Rouge. I'll have to give Sundowner a few more wears, but my first impression is that it's not as good as Bengale Rouge, especially when it comes to how well the myrrh, tonka, and honey notes were blended. Fun fact, Bengale Rouge was inspired by the scent of rubbing Shalimar on Liz Moore's bengal cat Mimi, and meant to capture the soft feeling of cuddling with one's favorite pet.
I think these comparison videos are great. What do you think about having a collection with representatives of notes? I have not wanted to repeat a house or notes as I collect but that seems like a weird rule. I love Slowdive and Bee, both masterful, but I already own Bengal so they are not top of my list to purchase. That might make a good video showing seasonal choices, and day/night. You are doing what I want to do, have a concise collection, and most other reviewers are obsessively buying everything!
I have a whole bunch of irises and several ambers and several white florals and then florals like Vixere and Opera which are a little too close, but in general I think it is fine to have several in each category. I guess I draw the line if I can’t tell the difference in the drydown.
As a Spaniard I can confirm that is how we pronounce Loewe :) but as I live in The Netherlands for 17 years ans working in English, if I think about it it sounds weird 😂 I bought Santal Complet I got 50% off and ended up selling it after a few months, it was too similar to Jazz Club and I even preferred the second one. I own both Angelique and Lost Alice and I really do not find them similar at all, interesting! Lost Alice is sweeter while Angelique on me is "oilier" if makes sense, might be the creaminess you mention.
Interesting! About Loewe sounding weird to you now. But thank you for confirming that I finally got it, haha! I also found Santal Complet similar to Jazz Club which I had a travel size of but I gave that away because I never wore it. I am very happy that you don't find Angelique and Lost Alice similar, maybe I will find them more different the more I wear them.
@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 I sprayed them in each hand, and I understand what you mean! there are similarities, especially after a few hours on the base. Lost Alice tends to last so much on me ( much more than Angelique) and the first/ middle stages as well where it was sweeter and more " mouthwatering" in a way.
Tauer is on my sample list for some time now. I’m interested in trying these small niche houses, especially European. One in, one out is a good formula to keep our collections under control. When you say skanky, I know the fragrance is probably the right for me. 😅 Great video as always Kicki! Trevlig helg!
Hi, I am on my second 5 ml decant of Bengale Rouge and although I like it a lot the honey note is very overpowering for me. I also find a similarity with Shalimar. I am now curious about Angelique :)
Hi Kiki. I hope I am spelling your name right. I enjoy your videos. I like perfumes like you. I have a beautiful collection. I stopped shopping for awhile. I have a lot, and some of them I purchased in the last couple of years because I used them when I was younger. They bring back memories when I wear them. I bought a lot from E-Bay and other fragrance companies on line. You mentioned Ysatis from Givenchy and it is a 3.4 oz. bottle and it is one of my favorite perfumes. I did not spend a fortune for it, and E-Bay is the best place I can suggest to buy it from. Most of the sellers are nice from my experience. If you lived close to me, I would like it if you would come to my house and see my collection, and you could try any of my 300 bottles including quite a few minis. I live in North Carolina in America, and that is quite a distance from Sweden. I think you will like Ysatis, and I never get tired of the scent. Take Care. 😊
So nice to hear that! I remember that Ysatis was not one of my favorites back in the 80s and 90s, but that could have changed. 300 bottles sounds like quite a collection! Would love to see it! I spell my nickname Kicki, but am not sensitive about the spelling. My real name is Kristina, but no one calls me that.
How fun it would be to dance with many partners and smelling all sorts of perfumes they may be wearing! I think if your friend who bought the expensive perfume isn't someone who owns a whole lot of perfumes then perhaps for him it's a splurge well worth it? It's so hot where I live today, almost 100 degrees, and I am on my third perfume, lol! They keep evaporating off. I so want to try Bengal Rouge and also Angelique and Lost Alice sound nice. OXJulia
Trust me, you would not be experiencing any good fragrances. People wear really boring stuff in general. The only ones that wear good stuff are the ones that have been given decants from me, haha. I will mail you about these fragrances you want to try. I will send you samples!
@@thehonestperfumereviewer6336 haha!! At least they wear something :o). I am out and about and sometimes get a comment or complement but never smell anyone else wearing a perfume. It's a perfume desert in Sammamish or Redmond Washington! Thank you Kicki! oxJulia

Hi Kicki, How are you getting along with the vintage Ivoire de Balmain that you picked up? It’s a fragrance that has been on my radar and piqued my interest for a while now. Bottles come up for sale quite a bit here in the States. It will probably be my next purchase. I have a special place in my heart for vintage fragrances.
I really love it! Have only worn it twice since I got it a month ago, though. But that is because I have so many other new arrivals. I wouldn't pay big bucks for a bottle but a reasonable price. I think you should be able to find one.
I tried Sundowner in a shop, decided is not for me. I wish I liked to wear Tauer’s perfumes, because I like everything about the brand, except the smell 🤦🏻♀️ I did tried them all, for some I even bought samples, hoping to like them on the skin. For me the frangrances are complex and artistic, not something I can wear.
Hei! I have not tried Sundowner, but I had a 5 ml original decant of LDDM bought from the house, that was a really nice, dry spicy perfume, but I did not use it and let it go. A few months ago I got cravings for it, and decided to buy a sample from a legit decantshop, and was so disappointed. The perfume was almost unrecognisable, very weak and watery, do not know what happened there. I have also had decants of Bengale Rouge. It really makes me think of cat fur, I love to sniff it from the vial, but it is so strong, I just can`t wear it. Papillon is a brand I love the thought of, but it is not my cup of tea. Maybe the use of orris, and the style reminds me of Franchesca Bianci, a bit animalic, a bit vintagey. Well, you can not love everything!
I can see certain similiarities between Francesca Bianchi and Papillon but prefer Papillon. I have not given Francesca Bianchi a chance in the last 18 months or so, so maybe I would think differently now.
Not a fan of santal complet or most of the fragrance du bois brand as lot of their frags to me/imo has a huge imbalanced punch of an opening and then after about 20 mins dies down to an undefined and unrefined skin scent that lasts for a couple to few hours.
I see! Ramsey calls the house "a trap house" or something similar to that. A kind of house that attracts those looking for expensive and fancy bottles and maybe an incredible opening gets people stuck. Love the opening of Santal Complet, but after a while it turns into a more mainstream vanilla scent. So I understand what you are saying.

Thank you for commenting, appreciate it. I have heard that the inspiration was her cat but didn't know that Shalimar was a part of that.
