Great video as usual Ramsey. I have Hera and I really enjoy it. I wore it during the summer in the heat and loved it. But I think I'll be wearing it in autumn and winter as well. Yes it's her most expensive but compared to other niche companies, I'd rather spend my money on Liz. Mainly because you can tell it comes from her passion for perfumery.
Totally agree with everything you said .. plus I think value for money for Papillon frags are sky high 😊

I know, I know, the fragrance itself is the best Iris commercial, but your reviews are poetry for a perfumes with quality.
I have a decant of Dior Homme parfum, and it smells like womens make up, and it's good, so if the Iris in Hera is on a higher level, I will buy it, no doubt.
If I put them in order, it will be :
1. Salome
2. Anubis
3. Hera.
By the way, I adore Greek mythology (every nowadays religion will be tomorrows mythology ).
So, Hera ( or Iunona for the Romans) can be my sister's wedding scent.
I hope she will like it.

Hera was the first Papillon I purchased. It's one of the only iris fragrances I have found that smells good on me. For me, the first spray made me think of single malt scotch or fine brandy probably due to the oak quality in the alcohol. Like you, I found the orange blossom takes a back seat to the iris which comes forward quickly and is very prominent. I agree with you on the green notes. The Jasmine is not forward in the fragrance. The other florals are well blended into the fragrance. The vanilla and the ambrette are soft and the heliotrope softens it. I have tested all of her fragrances now. The only one I struggle with is Dryad. I have only tested Dryad once to be fair, and it could be a 'grower' when I try it some more. It is masculine leaning for sure. I really appreciate the quality in Liz Moore's creations. I think my next purchase from Papillon will be Salome. Your depth of information adds great richness to your reviews. 'Sponsored by Navage Lavage'! Now that would be a first! Same here, problematic deviated septum, some days can't even taste. However the offshoot in my case is that my working side has become highly attuned. Interesting you bring up Francesca Bianchi again, I can see why. To me they are intertwined, Francesca being a Mediterranean version of Liz. 😆 Going through their lines the similarities are there but from different angles. I just knew you'd fall for the rest of Liz's line, she clearly displays an appreciation for vintage fragrances as does Francesca. I remember Liz highly regarded Maai by A Gardoni, another Avant Garde Italian perfumer. By coincidence you mentioned some Prada fragrances the other day and the very same perfumer has Purple Rain by Prada, that's a beautiful take on Iris too. It just goes to show you how subjective this wonderful subject is and how it's inextricably linked to our subconscious too. I get what Rich says about White florals, to me white florals transport me to sultry hot evenings and lingering heady fragrances. They really set my pulse racing but can't help myself to breathe in deeper the sweet night air. Chrysanthemums are also the Imperial Seal of Japan, so not always associated with funerals, even though you are correct in saying they are used prominently. That's a great point you bring up in that through the generosity of some of your subs you have a wealth of material to showcase, that's what sets you apart from other channels who continually hawk for free bottles. When will they ever learn? Do that and your genuine subs will be off to go elsewhere to get real, impartial and useful info. Thanks for this one.

Hey bro, I got this couple weeks ago and I am in love with it. I applied it 1 week in a row and just loved it. My Aura changes to a permanent shining angel...lol
It really does have this heavenly feel to it doesnt it ...one of the best iris frags around IMHO 😊
Liz has an incredible talent, and agree, one of the best brands
She is amazingly talented indeed ... one of the best value for money brands IMO 😊
So when our mothers told us to keep our noses clean....you're telling me that now we can actually do it? 😂 No more snorting dish soap for me! 😬 [Disclaimer for viewers - that was a jokie joke. Please refrain from snorting dish soap or anything other than prescription cocaine. And MAYBE a few other things.] So glad that Liz's daughter forced her to release this one. She was right. The public deserves to experience the goodness.

I love Dryad and I love Hera and although they both have the Papillon DNA. I don’t find them similar.
Ramsey, I love your ooing and ahing. Thank you for this review of this beautiful perfume. It is an extrait and pricier than her other perfumes, but it is well worth the price.
I have all Liz Moore’s Papillon perfumes except for Spell 25 (not sure the number is 25). I like that one as well but have not purchased as yet.
I dont find Dryad & Hera similar either...and I really like the asthetic of the whole house I think it is one of the best value for money niche house out there... every single fragrance is full bottle worthy IMO😊

Dear Ramsey, I am respectfully pissed off at you. I love the house of Papillon and was going to make a purchase as I have ram through my bottle of Bengale Rouge like a virgin at a frat house. However, as I suspect, your reviews have caused them to sell out. Smh 🤦🏻♂️ lol all in good cheer. ❤

I’ve tested most of the offerings from Papillon but never purchased one till date until I sampled Hera. I wasted no time and ordered one immediately. What a shape shifter this perfume is. I was stunned by that as well as the top quality ingredients used here. I think the Orris butter gives it a buttery smoothness that I’ve never experienced before. Not even in Dior Homme. But Dior Homme has its own thing going for it and it is great in its own way.
Coming back to Hera, I am already thinking of getting a backup … it’s that good.
It is unreal isnt it? It smelled absolutely masculine on my skin and I bet it smelled perfectly feminine on Liz Moore's daughter skin for her wedding day... what a gem Liz Moore's is to the fragrance community... i have a video coming on Dryad soon which is another that is absolutely full bottle worthy from the scent itself just like Hera... but I dont know if I will ever buy a full bottle of either but Papillon is one of my favorite niche houses and if you havent watched my Liz Moores interview I would highly recommend it.. she is a 💎

@@RamseytheRam if I have 300 to spend, I will spend it on Hera. Not on Louis Vuitton’s afternoon swim which is an uninspiring citrus fresh perfume costing 300.
Sampling Hera today for the first time. Really beautiful floral, but need to spend more time with it. It’s a strong one to my nose, and I can’t yet find the iris in it(using actual iris flower as my guide).
Interestingly, I ALSO have a deviated septum! Never really thought about fixing it until now that you mentioned improvement to your sniffing capabilities.😊
As a frag head it's the best thing I have ever done...no more clogged nostrils or stuffy noses...but that week or two of recovery suuuuuks

Never tried a slumberhouse in my life... however I do have a decant so hope to do a video on one or two soon 🙏

Nasal irrigation is nothing new. It’s just like the Neti pot I’ve used for decades. It’s just saline u add to water and put up thru your nostrils. I liked it at first but after a while I couldn’t stand using it. It made my nostrils and sinuses get infected more often. I had sinus surgery and my sense of smell is amazing now. And I rarely if ever get sinus infections now, but no I’m not a fan of that nasal irrigation thing . Yes it’s nice in the beginning, but it’s no good to keep using it. Anyway you’ll see.
Have you tried this Navage? Bettee than any neti pot....but i must admit i had surgery to fix a devaited septum last year and now I too can smell amazing 😊

Sampling this tonight on a blotter. This is so addictive. As a guy I don’t know if I can pull this off but this amazing. I bought a sample all of her offerings and this reminds me of one of the others. Also I need to order the navage nasal care thingy. Its winter here in London but ‘the ability to smell so clearly’ sounds amazing.
Ps I have discontinued stephane humbert lucas 777 oud on way as well at st clair casablanca. Have you reviewed either? Would love to hear your thoughts - both recommended to me by collectors
I have talked about oud 777 on one of my blind sniffing episodes... but that is the only one from the house I have smelled... except for a surprise review I have coming up soon...i liked what I smelled with oud 777 and want to explore more from the house
@@RamseytheRam I will check your oud 777 video for sure. I bought it blind as it’s discontinued but was recommended to me by someone who knows my collection. It’s also the only one from the house I now own. As for Papillon, I think I will end up owning 50-75% of her offerings for sure

@@RamseytheRam yes I saw in suggestions. Added to my list, currently 15 minutes in to the video with Sultan Pasha- a house im yet to explore.. hope to get my nose on tabac grande. It’s crazy how some of my favourite perfumes I’ve enjoyed this last quarter are all by self taught perfumers. I wonder how perfumers who trained for years feel towards their work.

Pappillon still on my list of to sniff discovery sets... alas. Lovely review of something that appears to tick all your boxes. Good stuff.
As for the inhaling apparatus, I also use regularly salta water sprays to clean up my nose, and not just for nerdy stuff . In the same vein, as an audiophile, I also clean up my ears with a foam spray for critical listening 👀
Without having smelled Hera, being it a wedding gift to her daughter immediately painted "feminine" in my brain. Your references to several other frags kinda reset it now.

Yes definately there is a connection with how she used the Iris in Angelique ... both are beautiful but I prefer Hera me thinks 😊

No but my early impression is pretty thorough ... unless a full bottle falls in my lap that will probably be the only Hera video I do 🙂

bought under my skin based on a video a few videos back on you channel. what a crazy scent, I love it lol. maybe I just haven't smelled many animalics. I think the only other fragrance close to an animalic I own is overture man, which is also great.
