The funny thing is I got into and loved the Buddies movies years before I ever knew Air Bud was a thing lol. Allow me to explain the climax of Spooky Buddies. Basically, Budderball's farts did not turn the Howlloween Hound to stone. Instead, it was the force of the air from the farts blowing the Howlloween Hound's petrification breath onto him, turning Diedrich Bader dog into stone.
Parvo also isnt an illness that they just like "get over" even if they live thru it either. Think of kids who survived polio and lived with issues into adulthood. The same goes for dogs with parvo.
My mother had a dog with parvo. He barely got through it, and lived a good long life, but she told me all about how terrifying it was. I’m incredibly grateful my dog lived, but the fact of the matter is: parvo is a puppy killer.
Parvo also can survive in the ground for months. If you bring a new puppy into an area where a parvo-afflicted dog has been, it can get sick. Bleach kills the virus, but that works on hard surfaces, not grass and dirt.

Do you have a betta in a bowl in the background? Can you please give him a lil heater and filter or live plants + more decoration to not feel as exposed? I used to love the buddies movies when i was younger, but what drove me to comment was the lil fishy bc i have two bettas of my own and they reallyyyy do appreciate more room, the ability to see well (the curvature of the bowl makes it hard to see outside the tank), and enrichment. I know you're not keeping the betta that way out of malice, just misinformation, but please do the research and enhance the life of the lil amazing critter you have under your care 💕 You may see that he will have a "glowup" from living in better conditions!

the part in superbuddies where rosebud is talking to the horses lives in my head rent free specifically because at the end the horses go "TTYL rosebud" in creepy unison and she's like "TTYL" and I think that was the first time as a child I realized that people actually think girls are like that and I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. But also it was how I learned what TTYL stood for so whenever i see that i'm reminded of the scene.
God Spooky Buddies is such a big part of my childhood. It was like, my first introduction to ‘horror’. The scene of Pip sacrificing his soul to save the buddies is always something that has stuck with me.

Hey, I'm sure I'm not the first to mention this, but please give your fish adequate housing -- It looks like a standard-issue Petco betta bowl, which is not sufficient for any type of fish. If it is a betta fish (hard to tell from the shot), it needs a minimum 5-gallon tank capacity, a tank heater (70-78-degree farenheit water), and some kind of filter (a simple sponge or spillover filter is perfectly fine). Preferably the tank should be more wide than tall, and needs weekly 25% water changes (you can get some water conditioner at any pet or fish store, it lasts forever bc of the level of dilution). Some leaf hammocks wouldn't go amiss. All this can be bought for $50-$100 if you're willing to go second The "Fact" that fish can't feel pain is fishing industry propaganda. They can feel pain, have memories, and there are some studies that show they have emotions. Please, if you are going to commit to being a steward of a living animal, do the research that ensures that it can live long and be happy. Betta fish can live for 5+ years if properly cared for. REMEMBER: The only truly "low maitainance" pet is a dead one. Any living animal needs regular and varied levels of care for an optimal life (free from suffering with many or most of their needs met)
To add on! It looks like you have a guppy in the bowl? If you get a 5 gallon you could get him more guppy friends and some shrimp :-) fish do have feelings and can feel pain, so it’s just a matter of making sure they have the best life possible
love the fish passion! I went to a wedding where every table had a little fish bowl with a beta fish. I thought it was ridiculous since their plan was to get guests to bring them home. Spent way more $ on that fish than I did on their wedding gift.
I know anyone who finds this comment might roll their eyes at it, and maybe you will yourself, but showing your concern and distress for the dead puppies in the Snow Buddies film while keeping your fish in such a small bowl just sat so off to me. It’s most likely just lack of knowledge, though, since so many people don’t know about fish care. So I say with genuine worry/care to please get your little gilled buddy a better home: at least a ten gallon tank, which if you’re worried about counter space, they do come in versions that are tall instead of wide. Keeping a fish in a bowl is the equivalent to keeping a dog or cat in a closet. The poor thing is strafing the bowl (a sign that the tanks is too small) throughout the video, and it breaks my heart. A proper filter and a heater if needed (the fish looks like a Betta, so yes those are needed. They’re hardy fish but will be living in SPITE of you in these conditions) will do *wonders* for your swimming friend. Given the age of this video, if you’ve already gotten your fish a better home, thank you for doing so. But if you haven’t, please don’t discount this comment. My betta, Jerry, was one of the last Walmart bettas and lived for almost three years in my care (so four years old counting him already being a year old at Walmart) thanks to proper housing. It really makes a difference! They may be a small blip in *your* life, but you and the home you provide are almost *all* of *their lives.*
Hello I was in fact the child who spooky buddies traumatized. Also space buddies was the thing that introduced me to the concept of Laika and learning what actually happened made me so upset that now my heart is just attached to her forever. Edit: Sorry I just noticed there is actually a fish in that bowl, I’m going to guess it’s a betta or a gold fish and either way that isn’t an appropriate tank for that fish. I really don’t want to be rude but your fish needs more space than that with a proper filter and heater. Please I just want the best for your fish.
The bowl shape is also harmful. It's considered animal abuse in a few places because they warp vision of fish and make it hard for them to breathe because of the surface to water ratio. Most people with bowls simply don't know so I'm not judging, just hope he finds out somehow and fixes it.

Fun Fact: The Air Bud company has been making Netflix origninal TV shows latetly. I found some while watching shows with my nephew including Pup Academy (Hogwarts for Dogs) and Phantom Pups (Spooky Buddies but worse and the villian is a ghost dog with human hands). I have heard that there are some others like Super Pupz and the shows are objectively awful, but there is something special about knowing that shitty dog movies where they animate the mouths are still being made.

I work in an animal shelter and Parvo is a horrible thing to witness that most puppies don't survive. They can be fine one day and 5 hours later on their death bed, hardly even able to breathe, explosive diarrhea draining away all their hydration so you have to keep them on an IV so they even have a chance to survive, no will to eat and barely even responsive. It's just heartbreaking to hear about what an awful thing those puppies were exposed to, and even if no more died I wouldn't be shocked if they were still abused behind the scenes. To Hollywood they're "just animals", a means to a quick buck. I hope those that survived went to good homes and lived good lives after.
If I remember correctly -- the "blackface" definitely didn't look right, but I don't believe it was intentional. It was camouflage paint and it got smudged up/messy while Danning(?) was moving around and sweating. I watched this movie religiously as a kid so I remember it didn't always look ... like that, ya know? But god, this whole franchise was beautifully chaotic.

I have not one, not two, but three stuffed husky dogs that I named Shasta. They're each a different size so I just had them each be the child of the next biggest so I had Shasta, Shasta Jr, and Shasta the third. I believe I still have all of them somewhere.

Fish in a bowl giving me anxiety through this whole thing. In other news, won't be able to think about snow buddies again without the cursed knowledge behind it. It's greatly unfortunate what happens to animals on movie sets- even in the modern era. We might not run horses off of real cliffs like in old westerns but giving a ton of puppies parco is certainly about as awful.

Allow me to explain the climax of Spooky Buddies. Basically, Budderball's farts did not turn the Howlloween Hound to stone. Instead, it was the force of the air from the farts blowing the Howlloween Hound's petrification breath onto him, turning Diedrich Bader dog into stone.

Parvo also isnt an illness that they just like "get over" even if they live thru it either. Think of kids who survived polio and lived with issues into adulthood. The same goes for dogs with parvo.
My mother had a dog with parvo. He barely got through it, and lived a good long life, but she told me all about how terrifying it was. I’m incredibly grateful my dog lived, but the fact of the matter is: parvo is a puppy killer.

Parvo also can survive in the ground for months. If you bring a new puppy into an area where a parvo-afflicted dog has been, it can get sick.

I used to love the buddies movies when i was younger, but what drove me to comment was the lil fishy bc i have two bettas of my own and they reallyyyy do appreciate more room, the ability to see well (the curvature of the bowl makes it hard to see outside the tank), and enrichment. I know you're not keeping the betta that way out of malice, just misinformation, but please do the research and enhance the life of the lil amazing critter you have under your care 💕 You may see that he will have a "glowup" from living in better conditions!

God Spooky Buddies is such a big part of my childhood. It was like, my first introduction to ‘horror’. The scene of Pip sacrificing his soul to save the buddies is always something that has stuck with me.

Hey, I'm sure I'm not the first to mention this, but please give your fish adequate housing -- It looks like a standard-issue Petco betta bowl, which is not sufficient for any type of fish. If it is a betta fish (hard to tell from the shot), it needs a minimum 5-gallon tank capacity, a tank heater (70-78-degree farenheit water), and some kind of filter (a simple sponge or spillover filter is perfectly fine). Preferably the tank should be more wide than tall, and needs weekly 25% water changes (you can get some water conditioner at any pet or fish store, it lasts forever bc of the level of dilution). Some leaf hammocks wouldn't go amiss. All this can be bought for $50-$100 if you're willing to go second
The "Fact" that fish can't feel pain is fishing industry propaganda. They can feel pain, have memories, and there are some studies that show they have emotions. Please, if you are going to commit to being a steward of a living animal, do the research that ensures that it can live long and be happy. Betta fish can live for 5+ years if properly cared for.
REMEMBER: The only truly "low maitainance" pet is a dead one. Any living animal needs regular and varied levels of care for an optimal life (free from suffering with many or most of their needs met)
To add on! It looks like you have a guppy in the bowl? If you get a 5 gallon you could get him more guppy friends and some shrimp :-) fish do have feelings and can feel pain, so it’s just a matter of making sure they have the best life possible

love the fish passion! I went to a wedding where every table had a little fish bowl with a beta fish. I thought it was ridiculous since their plan was to get guests to bring them home. Spent way more $ on that fish than I did on their wedding gift.
I know anyone who finds this comment might roll their eyes at it, and maybe you will yourself, but showing your concern and distress for the dead puppies in the Snow Buddies film while keeping your fish in such a small bowl just sat so off to me. It’s most likely just lack of knowledge, though, since so many people don’t know about fish care. So I say with genuine worry/care to please get your little gilled buddy a better home: at least a ten gallon tank, which if you’re worried about counter space, they do come in versions that are tall instead of wide. Keeping a fish in a bowl is the equivalent to keeping a dog or cat in a closet. The poor thing is strafing the bowl (a sign that the tanks is too small) throughout the video, and it breaks my heart. A proper filter and a heater if needed (the fish looks like a Betta, so yes those are needed. They’re hardy fish but will be living in SPITE of you in these conditions) will do *wonders* for your swimming friend.
Given the age of this video, if you’ve already gotten your fish a better home, thank you for doing so. But if you haven’t, please don’t discount this comment.
My betta, Jerry, was one of the last Walmart bettas and lived for almost three years in my care (so four years old counting him already being a year old at Walmart) thanks to proper housing. Edit: Sorry I just noticed there is actually a fish in that bowl, I’m going to guess it’s a betta or a gold fish and either way that isn’t an appropriate tank for that fish. I really don’t want to be rude but your fish needs more space than that with a proper filter and heater. Please I just want the best for your fish.
The bowl shape is also harmful. It's considered animal abuse in a few places because they warp vision of fish and make it hard for them to breathe because of the surface to water ratio. Most people with bowls simply don't know so I'm not judging, just hope he finds out somehow and fixes it.

Fun Fact: The Air Bud company has been making Netflix origninal TV shows latetly. I found some while watching shows with my nephew including Pup Academy (Hogwarts for Dogs) and Phantom Pups (Spooky Buddies but worse and the villian is a ghost dog with human hands). I have heard that there are some others like Super Pupz and the shows are objectively awful, but there is something special about knowing that shitty dog movies where they animate the mouths are still being made.
I tried watching Pup Academy because it looked cute, but I got bored.

I work in an animal shelter and Parvo is a horrible thing to witness that most puppies don't survive. They can be fine one day and 5 hours later on their death bed, hardly even able to breathe, explosive diarrhea draining away all their hydration so you have to keep them on an IV so they even have a chance to survive, no will to eat and barely even responsive. It's just heartbreaking to hear about what an awful thing those puppies were exposed to, and even if no more died I wouldn't be shocked if they were still abused behind the scenes. To Hollywood they're "just animals", a means to a quick buck. I hope those that survived went to good homes and lived good lives after.

If I remember correctly -- the "blackface" definitely didn't look right, but I don't believe it was intentional. It was camouflage paint and it got smudged up/messy while Danning(?) was moving around and sweating. I watched this movie religiously as a kid so I remember it didn't always look ... like that, ya know? But god, this whole franchise was beautifully chaotic.
The fact that in santa buddies Buddha says "thank you for making us true believers" when Christmas is a christian holiday and Buddha is a Buddhist, so it makes no sense
The tiny Shih Tzu from Santa Buddies being Christian isn't any weirder than Buddha (the dog) being Buddhist. My point is, there is precedent for it, and it fits the Christmas theme pretty well.
I remember watching the Buddies movies when I was young, I was maybe 4-5 years old, they where the only movies I watched for a while. I'd drive my sister crazy as I forced Space Buddies into the DVD player on road trips. I'm 15 now and forgot these movies even existed until I stumbled across this video. what a huge nostalgia trip.

Oh. OH. Those are not CGI aliens. Those are pratical effects with the tiniest bit of CGI on top. Which explains why they look so weird. It costs a lot to hire good practical effects artists, and I highly doubt these movies had the budget for it...

I would like to personally point out that the yellow building in every movie is also the town hall of Storybrooke, Maine from Once Upon a Time which adds so much lore if we assume it's the same universe

Fun fact, I loved these movies when I was little, and I had a husky HideAway pet, and even though it's name was on the wash info tag (his name is Slush) I named him Shasta after the husky from Snow Buddies
My cousin has a Husky too, and aldo, I forgot the name of the Husky in Snow Buddies. I used to say hey, he can run like that Husky from that movie
I was obsessed with these movies as a kid, too, the music and the cute puppies were enough to charm little me. Also small thing but I play a mobile game called DragonVale where you breed and raise dragons on a floating island park, and my Snow Dragon is named Shasta because that name always stuck with me
I have not one, not two, but three stuffed husky dogs that I named Shasta. They're each a different size so I just had them each be the child of the next biggest so I had Shasta, Shasta Jr, and Shasta the third. I believe I still have all of them somewhere.

Space Buddies is literally a core memory for me, I’d watch it whenever it came on, I’m pretty sure the first time I cried because of a film was when Spudnik returned to Sasha. It’s so weird to see that movie now in hindsight and go: “… huh”.
