One thing to note about the Sony headphones is the lack of the ability to use the mics for in game chat you would need a separate microphone for game communication
I have an elgato mic so thats Not a Problem. I ve got toumors in my Head so Many Headsets Are a Problem … my Kraken v3 Borke down … Plastic on the Side There where is the hypersense Logo the comblete Thing broke …. Bad Build Quality Iam now Searching for a New one… ive tried 8 different all Are making Pain. My friend had dead xm2s and They re comfortable. Are the xm4s Great for footsteps and Locating ? With 3,5 cable ? As i Said no mic needed. Or do you have an Alternative if Not ? I have a big head and just Imagine Having a Frozen pea between the cushions and your Head so it feels for me if to much pressure or to Hard cushions
So these do good but footsteps in cod are a bit veiled I got a project I'm working on about the senheiser momentum 4 I think they might be a better alternative for multiplayer shooters there directional awareness and footsteps are a tier above anything I've tried other then the beyerdynamic dt770 pro
Nice video, I was surprised with the outcome and how the arctis headset came out on top on a gaming perspective, but for me I need a headset that I could use for my phone (that doesn’t have 3.5 jack) and easily for any other devices that use Bluetooth and I personally think for my applications the Sony’s would be the better choice for me, but either way this was a great comparison video between the two 👍
Thank you for your review. I’m looking for a everything head set. I was doing extensive research for the Sonys on how it performs during the gym/cardio and flights cause of how much I do both. But I recently broke my crappy gaming headphones and found my excuse. I know I’m scarifying a bit since I play competitive mostly but you helped an indecisive man become decisive today!
glad this was helpful. if your still looking however ill be posting a review of sennheiser momentum 4 headphones for gaming as well if thats a video you would be interested in. otherwise glad this video helped you out!
@@IAmVehement well would it be exclusively for gaming though? I really want a headphone I can workout with (I’m gonna buy sweat pads), use on flights, and game with
Good job man, I have the XM4s and I was wondering how they would work at gaming if I started playing online games. This video gave me a good idea of how they respond in that context. Thank you. I just wish you would say but more. Maybe in slo motion
Hi. Great and detailed video. Im thinking about buying Sony XM4 but i want to know how exactly are they in valorant? Is delay that bad? I also want to play games while talking, so is Sony still an option?
Unless you have a dedicated mic these really won't work for you cause the mics don't work for online gaming and also over Bluetooth the lag is horrible
@@IAmVehement What's about using wire (3.5mm) for valorent and other competetive games that need foot steps to determine enemy location 🤔 or should I buy 7.1 gaming headset 🤔 Thanks 😊
Honestly I think that if you want a do it all headset this will be fine as long as you have a dedicated mic but otherwise I'd recommend the hyper x cloud 2 or Corsair hs80 for valorant if you need a mic as well
Hey, thank you for the content. How do you play with the sony on your desktop? I would like to use it as a true wireless device, and while playing I use mic quite a lot. It seems I would need a dongle to do the job... Do you have any recommandation? Tks a lot.
When I use them on PC I use my goxlr as an input and I can't seem to use the mics for gaming so you would need a separate mic and a really cheap option would be the Razer siren mini it sounds really good for the price you could also get a modmic for a more traditional style of gaming mic
@@IAmVehement thank you for your quick answer 👌 ideally I would like to not overload my desk, the whole setup is wireless that’s why I talked about a bt5 dongle.. Looks like there is no perfect solution here. I will consider your options though.
The only wireless mic option that would be ideal for your situation would be the wireless modmic however it's not cheap and I don't know enough to say if it good or not sorry I couldn't be more help
havent used either but ive heard the xm5 sound good but are a bit heavy on the bass where the arctis are lighter on the bass and more high mid and higher frequency forward causing a bit more detail but ive heard great things about both however the xm5 would be more versitile for everything like travel and stuff
hey, good choice of comparison! thumps up. I would suggest to cut the timeline to the half. Time is everything, as a consumer I want to hear as much opinions in a short time. The other thing is to try to have longer pauses between sentences, punch lines and I would prefer more eye contact with the camera and less product transition. I think Gerald Undone is a good example. And more importantly, just keep it going man.
Blacksharks I feel have more of a low end and are a bit more balanced but the arctis focus alot on midrange and footstep sound range Edit: it has also been months since I used a pair of arctis 5s
I had both and preferred the Blackshark V2 personally I just really think the blacksharks sound better and have good directional audio for competitive play In fps games not to say the artist aren't good just think the blacksharks are better
I agree. They got really good features and good looking design. But the hinges break easily. Mine broke overtime and I'm seeing a lot of people having the same issues.

The sonys overall are a better headset and I highly recommend them

First thing you should've started with was mentioning the 100-200ms delay on the xm4s. Makes playing fps games a pain in the ass.
That's why I really don't recommend them over Bluetooth for gaming in this vid I'm referring to the wired performance
@@IAmVehement it is possible to play with the xm4 connected to the pc for better response?
@@dudscum1609 yea by using the 3.5mm jack wire
@@IAmVehement Is the delay horrible when using the cable?
Over cable there is no latency at least that's noticable however over Bluetooth the delay is unbearable

Will do! love the feedback
does the sony mic work with the 3.5mm jack cable? or if its connected to the pc via bluetooth does the mic work?
Not for gaming from what I've found it may work for discord and zoom but I have not tested it

Who is better in sound, the arctis 9 or the Sony mx 5??

Do the XM4s need to be charged and switched on when using it in wired mode?
They don't have to be turned on but they sound better if you do.
I use my Sony with SteelSeries software it’s a game changer
Can i use external mic like blueyeti with xm4 for pc game streaming?
Yea just plug the yeti in to the PC and the headphones into the aux on either the mic or the PC or even use em Bluetooth

I would have thought the Steel Series Arctis Pro Wireless would be a more appropriate face off/comparison.
Both are the same price.

This very surprised me with the outcome
