Yup, my mom has always been very beautiful and she takes care of her appearance a lot, so she’s always invited to dinners and parties. But she always pays for herself, unless another person offers to pay for her meal. She doesn’t go places assuming other people will pay, it’s just courtesy.

she still could’ve used the filtered pics if she wanted, but definitely should’ve thrown an unfiltered one in there. i use filters sometimes, but not to the point to change my facial features
I know using filters almost became the standard but girl… you went on that date looking like a mess. Didn’t even have her hair done, nothing, just went there looking like she was ready for bed time.
I think where she went wrong was how she came on the date. On her profile she was dolled up , wig on , and nicely dressed. The first date is supposed to be the first impression so she should’ve had her hair did better , light makeup and she definitely should’ve dressed better 😭. I think had she did all of that it wouldn’t have gone sour like that.
Nobody should date until they have invested in themselves immensely and have a solid self-esteem.

I think with makeup on she wouldve looked the same. Literally she looks just like most women with a full face vs without. Why did she go on a first date looking like she had already been on a hundreds dates with him and they are married with two kids, i have no idea. But this is not really catfishing.

Girl I used to catfish. I’m only 19 and heavily did it at 17, 18, but I started going to therapy, stopped using filters, stopped wearing braids, wigs. I now feel free.

She definitely misrepresented herself and it's sad she thought she had to-- but it's worse for the men she catfished. I'm not Black so maybe there's a difference in a more focused app like BLK, but my general experience is people tend to overstate things.
If a woman says in text only that she's "chubby" but all the photos look like that, it's perfectly reasonable for someone responding to either think she's "talking down" on herself or that her "chubbiness" is mostly in her boobs and lower body.
Btw "talking down" makes it sound like it's bad to be certain weights or body shapes and it's not. It's just the best phrase I could think of to describe the self-deprecating or coy behavior people sometimes do.
I agree that she should have used that recent photo of her-- which btw she's gorgeous in! Wtf Tia! And if she really only felt confident for the altered pic to be her main photo, all she had to do was include that recent photo and some other ones in the part where she scrolled through all the pics. If she really wanted to keep the altered ones in there, she could have included them. If she had her more authentic self showcased among the filtered photos then it would give a way better idea to the potential matches.
I don't know if the whole thing went down exactly as she said... It feels a little off for some reason. But even if we assume that was a 100% accurate rendition, then that was even more awkward for that poor guy! This dude showed up expecting someone and got someone else, and then he had to process that in his mind while also sitting across from someone who essentially lied to him-- or at the very least misled him. He probably felt like he had to stay there with her and may have even considered whether to still give it a try, but I would find it a little hard to fully trust someone if they did that to me.
It's not like she's a 100% different person entirely, but she's different enough that it wouldn't feel right. It's not a difference of her hair or makeup or whatever, and it's not a simple mistake. She deliberately added multiple photos and deliberately only chose ones which all looked like the same person, and that person was not exactly her. If I were the guy I'd wonder if she told white lies elsewhere too or if she had been honest with me in any conversations.
Then on top of that she just happened to forget or not bring money? It's possible that was an accident, sure, but it feels far more likely that it was her feeling entitled to a free meal from the man.
Now that I think about it, THAT'S what felt so off to me I think... Her story sounded incredibly entitled from beginning to end. In the way we usually see crap of men being entitled to women's bodies or entitled to demand they smile or whatever, she seemed to feel entitled to the man's attention, money, and love or lust or whatever. She did a total Reverse Uno on him... Continuing even afterward with her blaming him for everything and then crying that men are evil.
Lady.... I'm a lesbian so idc about the men's side of this. If you did that to me as a fellow woman I would also pause and hesitate. And if you manipulated me into paying for your meal too, I'd be annoyed AF because it would feel like your entire intention from the start was to use me. It would feel like you had no respect for my feelings or opinion.
That poor dude was probably worried that if he walked out she would flip her shit and go viral on the internet looking like a victim in that moment, including to everyone around them. And since the Internet isn't known for its reasonability, he could have genuinely worried about being doxed or harassed etc.
Last thing I wanted to mention-- it's even more evident she's refusing to take responsibility for anything with how she kept stressing that so many people allegedly contacted her asking if she was ok.
Seriously? First of all I wonder if that's even true or if they are giving her shit instead. But if anyone WAS asking her that--tf?? Why? She's acting like the biggest victim there but she isn't in this case... What kind of weird view do you have to have of the world to hear her story and think she's the one who was used and disrespected?

@vmfjae1180 At the end of the day, the images are of the same person. A catfish has always been a person pretending or disguised as someone else. At best, an argument can be made that her photos were perhaps misleading, but a catfish is a reach.

so Ive been paying attention to Tia since the beginning of this saga. What everyone seems to be missed by many is that she is Neurodivergent. She has difficulty picking up on social cues at all. She is truly a sweet lady, and she's funny as hell! She just has some difficulty with social stuff.

I'm on the spectrum as well, and that's not an excuse. I struggle with understanding social cues, and it makes social interaction difficult, but that's not what's going on here. She knowingly misrepresented herself, and that's wrong, period.
@ladylionXOX AT no point did I excuse her her actions. If you have ASD then you know that some peoples symptoms and needs are worse than others. She appears to have higher suppprt needs than you. My point being, have empathy for her instead or judging her so harshly and making fun of her.
