    What a great iniciative here, I'm sure that a lot of newbies with only 2000 hours or less can learn a lot form this. Seriously though, it's a pity that Paradox doesn't offr such good tutorials. Great job as always and thank you for being the best HOI4 channel here on TH-cam!

    Your guides are so good that Paradox should pay you honestly, keep up the great work! 2 years ago i gave up on Hoi4 because of how infuriating it was for me as a beginner not knowing all mechanics. But your videos made me pick the game up again and now i love it, because you go into so much detail in your videos, answering the questions i had in my head! Grazie!! 😃

    I got the game not long after it came out, and played a little before giving up cuz I just kept getting killed. A history-themed TH-cam channel I watch mentioned the game last year so I decided to give it another shot and thankfully came across your superb guides as I was trying to relearn the game. You should definitely be sponsored by paradox, and hopefully you will be very soon! Also, I’m planning on signing up for a channel membership to get your spreadsheets and early access to your guides. Keep up the fantastic work! Every hoi4 player should have your channel bookmarked.

      Yes that is definitely an important aspect of the game! I still need to decide how to structure the upcoming episodes, whether in individual topics (like intermediate army management, advanced army management and so on...) or as a longer intermediate guide covering all aspects.

    24:00 pretty sure the rules for deployment are owned states with a direct connection to the capital. Meaning you cant deploy in core states if they have no connection, but you can deploy in owned non core states if they have a connection. For example germany can not deploy in east prussia as its its not connected. But Soviets can deploy in eastern poland and the baltic states because they are connected and owned.
    And to use Italy, it cant deploy in Sardinia even though it is a core state, because its an island without a direct land connection to the capital.

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are correct! You can deploy in owned states as long as they are directly connected to your capital. Owned means both cores and occupied states, but only after an official peace conference in which you claim them.

    Can you make a video on if cavalry is any good in hoi4? Good video!

    • @wendydelisse9778
      @wendydelisse9778 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Cavalry has its main use as a substitute for motorized infantry when you don't have enough fuel or don't have enough supplies for motorized infantry. Unlike motorized infantry, cavalry uses zero fuel. A cavalry battalion also uses less supplies than motorized infantry.
      Cavalry has its main niche use in forest and jungle. In forest and jungle, motorized infantry has a 50% speed penalty in comparison to cavalry and mechanized infantry. As such, with the 1st level of truck technology, cavalry is faster than motorized infantry in forest and jungle.
      Once you get mechanized infantry tech though, if you have the fuel and the supply capacity, mechanized infantry is king of the forest, but not necessarily king of the jungle.
      If your ability to build supply trucks is insufficient to replace the bothersomely large fraction of supply trucks that constantly get consumed in jungle, then cavalry has its place in jungle even after you get mechanized infantry tech, since cavalry draws less supplies than mechanized infantry, and therefore has less need for supply trucks than mechanized infantry.
      Cavalry has another niche use of exploiting undefended enemy tiles in 1936 and 1937 in many parts of the world. A single cavalry battalion is all that it takes to take over an undefended enemy tile. Once a single-battalion cavalry division is no longer useful for that purpose, you can upgrade such a division to 3 battalions of cavalry with 1 artillery support company and optionally 1 anti-air support company as a "hold ground" division when fighting a weak enemy, and as a "move in fast" type of division to quickly seize a tile that an enemy division has been routed from.
      Short version: Cavalry has its place when you don't have much fuel, or when you are fighting against a weak enemy, or you have supply problems, or you are fighting in forest or jungle.

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @wendydelisse9778 already offered a pretty good answer. I would also add that cavalry can be really good at rushing enemy victory points and attempting encirclements. For the latter, armored divisions would be better, but since cavalry does not use fuel, it can be even better than motorized at rushing deep into enemy lines.
      That being said, I recently tried using cavalry together with motorized artillery to make a sort of replacement of good offensive motorized divisions. I did it with Third Rome Russia which can get some very cool bonuses for cavalry. The results were quite disappointing and I ended up giving up on the idea and switching to proper armored divisions.

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Milan-b2t you are right, I oversimplified it a little bit. Let's say that the risk is to have to immediately use the civs you get from trade into importing the resources you need. Which makes the calculation over which one is more convenient a little complex at times. Export focus is still a good choice though.

    You didn’t do a what to do if the government runs in exile. I’m cooked cause I know a bit about the game and I do want to join the axis. I don’t want Ethiopia to come and kick me around 1939

    • @MachiavellianStrategist
      @MachiavellianStrategist  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Minecrad. Hi! With my strategy you usually capitulate Ethiopia before the government in exile forms, I never had issues with that. I would probably restart if I could not get it, since it is right at the beginning. The government in exile is very annoying to deal with otherwise.
      Still possible to continue with the run though. You can largely ignore Africa in WW2.
