Devon is the truth in this game! Big up to the other guys as well. However you ALL need to demo Studio One. How can you put mixcraft over S1? I used it and it was good but had tons of shortcomings. I'm certified in Pro Tools. Still I do most of my work in Logic. At this point, I am using Studio One more and more and may put Logic next to Pro Tools on an ext drive in case I need to dust them off for some die hard fans session. Keep up the good work guys. The Podcast is awesome.

and I’m an old school HIPHOP / ELECTRONIC MUSIC / DANCE MUSIC PRODUCER (in my 60’s 😅😂👨🦳👨🏾🦳) from NYC and have tracked in all the BIG MUSIC HOUSES HERE in my time i.e. HIT FACTORY / ELECTRIC LADY STUDIOS / CHUNG KING / UNIQUE STUDIOS / etc etc … so just my 2 sense €

Addressing the opening, as someone who uses Apollo with UAD DSP, UADx (native) & Logic, this is exciting, I agree with the UA rep that this doesn’t take away from UA, they’re a very capable and successful company that has their path going forward, one guy doesn’t make the company, but I’m also really excited from the Apple point of view to have some UAD experience, detail and quality being added into an already amazing DAW. Logic’s stock plugins are already really really good and they have lots of analog inspired plugins as well which are great, so add some features like Luna has with the tape and summing, improve the stock plugins even more and release new ones, and Logic is going to be insannee!

wasnt deep diving into mixing much but once i found Devvon I started getting recommended more and more views then i got recommended a pod cast and now i just listen/watch it while playing games

I've been making beats and producing on Mixcraft since 2009 its's real slept on, and never switched to another DAW simply because of how user friendly it is and supports all major 3rd party plugins...
I used to love Pro Tools, But I switched to Studio One because of the workflow. It's just better

Reason is never mentioned for production when it’s a beast in all aspects of production. However, I’m with the rest Avid ProTools will forever be the standard for vocal recording.
I use Reason for production, but I also record vocals into it because of how fast it is. Lol Mixing vocals in it is definitely different than using anything else tho in my opinion

studio one has the great stock loops inbuildt and one of the most popular DAWs in the world period. Y'all dont know how great it has become especially the updated studio one 6 has some interesting features like binaural,dual and balance pan options

No talk of SSL & Neve... everybody mics wants to go through a neve and everybody mix wishes it was on SSL. Also Cubase is no joke as one of the best all around daws in the world. I understand because people cant jack a copy of Cubase so they never get to know what its about. And thats on Steinberg for making the DAW hard to try... But for those who know, Cubase can do it all.
would love your take on UAD letting you use their plugins without hardware but ONLY on subscription. I can't outright buy the plugins without hardware. that's crazy to me, as it shows it is possible, they're just not letting us. I can't be subscribed to every company when I only want a few select plugins from each. This subscription model is killing me

Favorite plugin companies: slate digital and plugin alliance. All bases covered if u have both of those subscription plans they have. I have purchased a ton of plugins but im definitely not against subscription models

I really enjoyed today's show and I must say, my top 3 companies would be universal audio (the compressors are literally 2 of the all time greatest in audio history, one of the most widely used interface lines ever and the mics now), neve/focusrite (remember focusrite is under neve) and the last one I agree it's Roland

LUNA has their summing integration that’s very strong. if i’m not mistaken, that dude was key in making LUNA. although most see it as a little dummy DAW, it’s exclusive analog modeling like the Neve and API summing, tape integration, and the API console channel approach, make this very huge news. keep an eye on logic. by extension, LUNA, too.

I'd really like one of you guys to try Cubase or Studio One. Specifically Devvon on Cubase for recording and mixing vocals and LJ or Courtney on Studio One for making a beat. I feel like that shit would get hella views no 🧢
make them use reaper, they would get so lost haha, i'm a reaper user, just being honest. is the most confusing DAW at first. too many hidden options
@@maplefoxx6285 I like reaper for recording and mixing vocals, it's simple as hell for that. But trying to make it an all in one DAW was too much work for me.
@@DohBoi863 If I was making beats and stuff specifically I would switch to Ableton Live, I do like it quite a bit. Reaper is really good for Orchestral and video game stuff, but you have to spend months customizing the heck out of it.
Is just easier for most people to use logic, cubase or FL, but Reaper has this special thing we use for keyswitching. Is quite a bit better than any other DAW has because of it being 3rd party and the guy is updating it often.
The Scripts are what make it worth while. A new one called Visual Mixer is really cool, all DAW should have this now

Hey Devvon, I purchased the Rosetta EQ however after I installed it and opened my DAW (Reaper) i got some sort of error message about it that went away too fast for me to read and i havnt been able to get the plugin to show up in my DAW. Do u know if theres any compatibility issues with the Rosetta EQ and Reaper??
I don't even have the plugin, and I have a fear (I hope I am wrong) that they haven't tested it in many DAWs, like REAPER, Bitwig, and Waveform, for instance.
@Avery Marcel u should be able to go into the settings and do a rescan of your plugins. It will then pop back up.

@@Kiloeve Weve tested this thing front and back no reason to fear. With any plugin sometims its something so simple. Weve had an extremely smooth onboarding for everyone. Trust me by now youd know if the plugin was a problem!
