Today, we are taking a look at my favorite Robin -- Tim Drake! Two figures are on sale right now, Gotham Knights and Red Robin, but if you could only buy one, which is the better bang for your buck? Place your bets: it's time for another VERSUS!

Great Video. However between the two of them I'm defiantly taking Red Robin as I ain't a fan of the Gotham Knights design. It just doesn't look like Tim to me. Feels more like something Damien would wear.
I agree, definitely feels more Damian. I really didn't like the figure at all until I got it out of the box and really gave it the once over. I expected to like Red Robin better, but it really won me over.
The best robin action figure is the one that comes with the staff with the point to me

@@5POAFigureReviews can you please do a headswap video for the rebirth batman? On what batman heads would fit him best? (Im looking for an alt head to use with his body because im gonna use his existing head for a custom but i still want to display my rebirth batman but not with it being headless.

Edit: with the quality of your figure review videos you deserve much more praise :D plus you also do headswaps from time to time which is extremely helpful which not much figure reviewers do.
Not going to lie, I love these Robin figures because the designs on the suits look really awesome but for me, I'm going to have to choose get Rebirth Damian Wayne Robin to go with Rebirth Batman to fight Joker and Jason Todd Red Hood. Another great VS video by Jason.

To be honest Jason, I really like the Clown Joker and the Mortal Kombat 11 Joker along with The New 52 Red Hood and Gotham Knights Red Hood.

Great review! I just got Gotham Knights Robin today for $13 at Target then Red Robin I got at Gamestop the first week they came out for $19.99. I'm a Robin and Nightwing fangirl so I'm happy to be adding these to my growing collection. ❤ I love the colors of GK Robin, but I agree Red Robin could use a brighter red. I might customize the gotham knights robin I think he might look better with an actual cloth top, and working hood/cape. 🤔

@@5POAFigureReviews I'm liking the Red Robin figure the most right now, he looks amazing! I did pick up the Damian Robin just last weekend, love his bright colors, but the head is kind of too big. 😆
For me McFarlane boxes is always 1 hole point even some of them have bad box design because on some marvel legends some people swap the figure inside the box but McFarlane put a elastic tied around the figure so I always appreciate him for doing that 😁👍
Just have to make a correction, the 1st Tim Drake figure was actually from the Kenner line during the Batman Returns line Era. FYI
That's why I specified it was the first "comic book" Tim Drake. While the design on the Batman Returns figure is clearly Tim, nothing in the bio specified it was him or just Dick in the Tim costume (like on Batman TAS). I opted to avoid explaining all that and jumped straight to Total Justice.

I could have sworn Red Robin’s ab crunch was deeper, oh well! But, Arkham’s Robin seems like he has it deeper ab crunch, tight!

First Tim Drake figure was from Batman Returns toy line.
First figure of the costume, but the packaging doesn't specify if it's supposed to be Tim or Dick in that costume like on Batman TAS

Awesome review. Something Brad the DC geek pointed out in his review of red Robin. Why did they go with this particular version of the character? There aren’t really any other DC new 52 figures there but you have plenty of classic versions along with rebirth versions so I just don’t understand why they didn’t go with one of those designs. That said the figure looks OK but if given the choice I would’ve preferred the Rebirth version of red Robin/Tim Drake Robin.
I haven't seen Brad's video yet (I don't want other people's videos of figures I'm going to review till after I do mine), but I agree with him. My hope is that it's a sign we will be getting more, but that is often not the case.
Aw jeez I really hate the new render they put on the box and cards, especially when you compare the cards to the older figures
I hate it too. But like I said in the Flash video, if they at least made the trading cards cooler I could live with the box being a bit duller.
Still waiting for my Red Robin from BBTS. It looks cool for me, though seeing your review makes me want to custom paint it to make it look vibrant. From experience with my Future State Batman, mcfarlane DC Multiverse is durable yet easy to take apart for customs.

I was pretty disappointed when red robin was revealed, its new 52 which I can deal with but his body just looks so awkward and there's like 4 different shades of red on him. Gotham knights on the other hand (although I don't like the source material) is a fine figure.

what mcfarlane tim drake version is most suitable for batfamily?
At this time, you could get the red and black Amazon exclusive version, BUT I would honestly wait until they release a standard red and green version of it. If you really want a McFarlane Tim now, I think Gotham Knights is closest to our idea of Tim and would work fine.
all i want is a decent pre 52 tim drake robin we got a old one a long time ago that’s just to short and the newer one has a weird sculpt for the arms and is to bulky

I love the concept of Tim growing up to be Red Robin like in Kingdom Come, but not like this. Not with the actual wings. At this point he's less like a robin and more like a cardinal.

i miss the toy photography and the comic art in the back of the box
I just got three new figures today (you'll have to wait for the videos to find out what they are). One had comic art, one had a render, and one had figure photography. All three items were put on shelf today, brand new. There really doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to what figure gets what kind of box.
I'd rather get the Red Robin than the Gotham Knights Robin. He just doesn't look good to me.
I didn't like Gotham Knights when I saw him. When I got him out of the box and started to futz with him, he really won me over.

That Gotham Robin was the most horrendous and disgusting figure of the character that I've seen 🤢,otherwise the New 52 is glorious 🥰
I went into this really disliking the Gotham Knights and expecting to dunk on it, but after getting it in my hands and really scrutinizing it, it really won me over. That said, the New 52 is extremely well done and a worthy addition.
