The Rebirth suit is one of the few modern looks I actually like; particularly with that purple cape! It should stay that color as a nod to his First Appearance imo.
Speeding Bullets Batman won me over with that sculpt, nothing looks aesthetically even close to how well proportioned they made that figure and obviously classic colors and all it was definitely a chef's kiss design.
Oh man, I didn't realize how many Batman figs we get each year from this line! Can't wait for your 2023 top 10 video especially since Todd has been killing it with the 2023 Bmans so far. The Blue Hush and Kingdom Come figs are some of my fav figs from the entire line so far!
Between those two, the Christian Bale, and the Earth 2, we are off to a good start. I am likely skipping the Vampire though since it's just Hush with different head, hands, and an axe.
I agree with your number one pick! This figure along with the wave was the reason I had to start collecting Mcfarlane’s DC Multiverse figures! That was my Batman!
I wasn't in a happy mood today, But this video did really cheered me up and my only top 2 Batman figures are definitely Rebirth Batman along with TDKR single release armored despite being to tall, the Batman cowl helmet the being accurate, But overall, Great Top 10 Jason because you had some fantastic picks to list IMO.
great Video, just need the Head and Arms for my Darkest Knight, a few of them are on my list, Batman Zur En Ar, Dark Knight returns, Future State, Azbat and Speeding Bullet. I agree, the Speed Metal Flashs are weird
I honestly don't have any issues with you list. The three Jokers Batman just screams definitive to me so that makes sense. That Speeding Bullets Batman figure however is really dope and I could see some good reuse out of it moving forward.
Did anyone ever tell you that you sound just like Mr. Obvious from the Bob and Tom radio show? I was watching this video and I kept thinking, "who does he sound like?" It was driving me crazy until it finally came to me. I even Googled it and listened to a Mr. Obvious skit and it's really uncanny. Loved the video BTW. Totally agree with your #1 pick. Keep up the good work.
I don't think I picked up 10 batmen this year so I'll just do a top 5 lol 5. Blackest Night - pretty fun figure, poses great, wish the belt had been painted 4. Hazmat Suit- Sadly I never found the light up one, but the mold is great as is and its a fun toy 3. Rebirth- I love this figure, but I find him hard to stand cause of the stupid thick cape coupled with the older ankles 2. Gold Label Dark Detective- very fun to pose in some brawling stances, I don't mind the ears 1. Speeding Bullets- easily the best superman or batman figure we have gotten, poses so well, has everything it needs, I love it Lookin forward to what 2023 has to offer us all, from mcfarlane and you
Thanks so much Jacob. Very good list. I think the only ones I am missing is Hazmat, the Gold Label Dark Detective, black and white Arkham, the DKR Armored, and Batrocitus. With everything going up though, I'm scaling back my purchases this year.
That is such an amazing question. I may just have to do a video on it, BUT gut reaction the Multiverse is an new sculpt and includes all the panel lines and kneepads, whereas the Essentials is just a repaint of their basic body. I also prefer the length on of the cape on Multiverse. That said, I like the head on Essentials better. Now I want to do a video lol
Kind of surprised to see the Rebirth figure as only an honorable mention. It's easily my favorite out of all the ones on this list (save for AzBat) and I think it's going to be the definitive Bruce Wayne figure on my shelf
@@VictorHugo-Al that’s the only time I wouldn’t hate a multi pack. Or when the characters are boring that nobody cares about. Hasbro is obsessed with putting a character everyone wants in a multi pack with characters that nobody wants
Sorry to bother you I luv your reviews so I wanted to ask Which one is better the dark knight returns batman from build a figure wave or the blue hush batman or the 3 jokers batman I just need your rankings like 1 this 2 this .... Hopefully you will reply soon Thank you
You are not bothering me at all! Thanks so much for the question and for putting so much trust in my opinion. I'll be honest, I don't really like the Dark Knight Returns Batman all that much. It is a really great figure, just not my preferred version of Batman. If you like it though, it's probably the best one you'll get of TDKR short I'd Mafex or Mezco. I haven't reviewed it yet, but I I do have Blue and Gray Hush and it is great. Keep in mind though it will be the tallest. That said, in order, I'd say Hush, Three Jokers, and TDKR. Hope that helps!
Very awesome video Mr.Jason. I’ll admit I’m not the biggest fan of 3 jokers Batman. Don’t get me wrong it’s a good figure, but i would put 3 jokers at #2 and the dc direct page punchers at #1
I really like the Dark Detective variant without the trench coat. Initially my preference was the other way around, but the lack of trench coat grew on me.
I freaking love Three Jokers. Now i understand some reviewers don't have this figure in high regard, and It does have a lot of articulation problems, but damn is it beautiful.
As a reviewer I get the frustration, though I don't have as big a problem with his articulation. I just wish his legs were shorter, that he had a little more of a neck, and maybe wasn't quite so textured. But as is I still love him
I love the rebirth design it's the perfect mix of classic and modern and the head sculpt is spot on. That aside this is one of #McfarlaneToys best figures to date. Well put together fully posable than anything else in the line. I'm honestly shocked this is only an honourable mention...
Btw the Arkham City figure was wrongly sculpted it was a reuse of Asylum. Arkham city had a navy/midnight blue cape, shin guards had yellow and so was the guards itself have a different sculpt. Belt in AC is more circular than the box shape than AA. The reuse of the body is fine but there should be added parts
I'm pretty happy with my Future state batman. I swapped the heads with Rebirth. Been planning to buy a zd toys hall of armor for my rebirth with future state head to make it look like a displayed suit from the batcave.
I wasn't familiar with the ZD Hall of Armor so now I've gone down a rabbit hole and want to try one of their Iron Mans to see how it scales with DC Multiverse and how to compares to Select. So thank you for that lol
@5POA Figure Reviews if you're wondering why the same ironman figure one is slightly expensive than the other, it's probably the LED version. But just to be safe ask the seller for what version it is.
Three Jokers and Hush Batman are my two favorite Batman figs by McFarlane. With the new Blue & Gray Hush coming that's going to be #1. I hope a standard Year Two comes out, even without the big flowing cape or cloth cape, standard plastic is fine, i just want that version since I couldnt get the Gold Label and im not paying scalper prices for it.
A Batman by any other name is still McFarlane's cash cow and what keeps DC Multiverse afloat. But in all seriousness, it does seem like every year that Todd has the license, there's always that one Batman figure that slips through the cracks as it being one step closer to being the definitive Batman figure that we've been waiting for. Maybe we'll get it in that Batman/Spawn set Todd teased all the way back during NYCC. Whenever that gets revealed.
I can remember Todd talking about the desire to do a Spawn/Batman set as far back as the Kenner days, around when they were doing those large scale Legends of the Dark Knight. I remember him saying he'd love it if they did the Spawn and he did the Batman and they could somehow pack them together. The thought of a McFarlane Batman back then had me over the moon. Little did I know...
I tried to resist collecting McFarlane DC figures and I held out for a while. It was the Three Jokers Batman that finally made me cave. Now I’m hooked on this line. Oh well, I guess it’s better than being hooked on heroin
I only have 4 Batman figures so I have to do a top 4. First is Dark Knight Returns Armored Batman, 3rd, Injustice 2 Batman, 2nd, 3 joker's Batman, 1st, Arkham City Batman.
The Azrael Batman looks great and I love how he looks but yeah the blue color is kinda wrong but i'll say this, the gold on this Azbat looks more better than the Dc direct version which is the one that I have BUT the darker blue on the Dc direct looks better than the Mcfarlane's.
Something about that Azrael Batman makes me shudder. The gold shoulders, man... the amount of metallic swirl and flake is insane, they give me serious Gold Plastic Syndrome vibes. @ ~ @ I'm sure they won't crumble and turn brittle since most of the plastics on DCM figures are very soft, but still.
Lol when you said even the proportions were given a lot of creative thought, I hope you were joking 99 percent of his fig have awful proportions none of which have to do with creative thought
The Rebirth suit is one of the few modern looks I actually like; particularly with that purple cape! It should stay that color as a nod to his First Appearance imo.
Good observation. I also have a head canon that purple is Bruce's favorite color

Great top 10! We just bought Darkest Knight, not having to buy wave to get it is terrific. My top Batman is the Gold Label Dark Detective.
Hey being able to get him without the rest of figures is great! I am happy when I got mine they were on sale so at least I didn't pay full price
I did't expect TDKR Batman to be that low on your list, but great review as always. 😊
speeding bullet is my number 1 it's a really great and balanced batman figure
It's a great figure
I love the Rebirth design. The purple cape is one of my favorite aspects. However I have to ask, do you prefer McFarlane's version of DC Essentials?

Yeah. I pre-ordered it actually. I have some theories about it I want to explore and discuss.
