    I'll make this point again while that little camera is cool it is not an X 100 V and if you don't like the look of a camera you will not use it. You will get sick of me saying that because it is true the camera that you find appealing to the I will be the camera you will pick up, even if it has less specs. There are many legendary cameras that don't have particularly great specs but people like to use them and I think too many reviews on TH-cam are just looking at the specs and not the actual character of a camera.

    • @FTTPRO
      @FTTPRO ปีที่แล้ว

      The Ricoh GR has been noted as one of the top street photography performance cameras ever; still people choose to shoot on Leica or Fujifilm. Why, because of exactly the reason you pointed out.
      Aesthetics will put a person into a mindset and a process that creates a moment; all from capturing a picture with a camera that you choose at the beginning of the day. The nobs, the the fidgeting, optical view finder! Etc, etc.
      I have personally shied away from Ricoh literally because of it's looks. I know all about what it can do, its zone focusing capabilities, it's high res and quality images. It looks like a common point and shoot. I'm not an effing spy, i still want the thrill of hunting out a photograph. Of creating it as the scene unfolds in front me. Ricoh cameras just.... je ne sais quoi, they almost steal that away.

    • @nevvanclarke9225
      @nevvanclarke9225 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@FTTPRO sure, it is and I wasn’t bagging that Richo camera. It is about liking the look of your camera. And it’s funny to be honest. If you had asked me this six months ago I probably would’ve said yes by the RECO as it’s probably a better camera inside. But I actually picked up a small Fuji film camera and then I realised why everyone said these cameras will make you want to take photos. And lo and behold it’s true. There are just some cameras that scream - pick me pick me ……take me out now. I’ll share this with you as it’s kind of funny even when I get back from my shoot I will put the Fuji film next to the MacBook as I’m editing. I actually like to look at it while I’m editing my photos and I just think that is so bizarre. And like I said I was probably never like that. Just on the cameras themselves. I don’t think there’s really a bad camera now. I think most of the cameras in the last 10 years are pretty good cameras and even before that there was still great cameras. Thanks for the correspondence. Have a great day and yes I’ll follow your channel

    • @marike1100
      @marike1100 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Lol, real photographers don’t give a shit what a camera looks like, they don’t trick out their cameras with goofy red soft shutters and $200 leather straps. The Ricoh GR, aside from being a gorgeous example of industrial design, is a legendary street camera. It is 1000% more discrete that a shiny silver X100, its pocketable, feels WAY better in the hand (no dumb add on grip needed), it’s literally made for street photography. Posers going on about camera aesthetics instead of images and handling are embarrassing. ;)

    • @nevvanclarke9225
      @nevvanclarke9225 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marike1100 I get where you’re coming from totally 100%. But do you buy a jacket and not wear it because it doesn’t look any good. Do you date that girl that you don’t like the look of…. And I know it’s an interesting analogy but we are a little vein is that all bad maybe maybe not it’s just human nature. It feels like you’re a little anti-Fuji film and that’s fair enough. And I’m sure the Richo camera Is a great camera. By the way, my button on my Fuji is not red it’s yellow. And yes I do have a leather strap that’s simply convenient to hold the thing … But it wasn’t $200. In fact, I made it myself for about 10 bucks out of an old belt.

It's not just for wildlife and even works great for candids and baby portraits when moments are fleeting and timing doesn't always work. Yes, the GRIII lens is sharp, but the X100v lens has been redesigned, is faster and even sharper with superior rendering of OOF zones. The AF on the X100v is also much better and of course it has that amazing hybrid finder that allows you work in any light and see settings clearly. Composition on the GRIII in bright light isn't exactly easy and many shooters "crop to compose." The X100v is absolutely more expensive, but it's worth it because it's far more capable and also handles a lot better. The only issue? Very tough to get! Backordered forever now. ;-(
