Absolutely welcome. I believe I left eBay links or info on what screen you need. N05 cause it comes with blue tooth fuse which you want. God luck finding a head unit. The car came with the typical bug ass touch screen from sygav which is an Android base tablet or whatever. It was nice. But it was painfully SLOW!!. Also you would need to hotspot ya phone if you wanted live readings from like waze or Google maps and shit. Cool thing about Google maps you can download maps and use them offline. So you wouldn't need an internet connection. The radio was okay. I had custom gauges on there to monitor but I really preferred an OEM head unit. My buddy has the other head unit that's all black and has one knob on i believe the left hand side of the stereo. I'm on a hunt for a SiriusXM module. Cause I can't stand not seeing two other boxes when I click on MODE.
Hey man. Great work. What was your old radio? I have a touch screen MMCS version E-03 which doesn't support bluetooth audio and USB, only bluetooth voice calls and I have the steering wheel buttons with BT module 8785A010 in the glovebox. Do you know how can I update to E-05 (newer version MMCS for Eu market) which supports BT audio streaming?
Thank you. The N-05 is the unit you need and want to get, since it has the fuse. I found a write up www.evolutionm.net here to go about installing a OEM nav into a non NAV car. Shame your in the UK, I put my radio up on sale on the evo forums for $450 comes with the blue tooth module as well, as the radio of course. www.evolutionm.net/forums/evo-x-how-tos-installations/324696-how-install-factory-navigation-into-non-nav-evo-10-a.html facebook.com/groups/225863667537263 I dont see why my radio wont work in your car even if I'm from the states. I got my stuff off of eBay.
@@DaveBudness What does FUSE mean? It's not the regular meaning for all the 3A, 5A stuff that's responsible for the electrical components in the fusebox right? Also, during your installation, did you have to play with wires or it was just plug and play? For me, I already have a BT module and a old MMCS so maybe a bit harder
The link I left you for the evo forums, they mention fuse. Maybe there's only a fuse on the N-5 units that you need, I don't know. You'll have to read it. Yes, everything is plug-in play. In the video you see me take out the other aftermarket big screen and in the back, there's a nest of wires, there's one that wasn't being used, I feel like all cars are capable or have this one harness that isn't being used unless the prev owner of my car came with a system and took it out and added that google android unit. When, that google android head unit was installed, it came with blue tooth, but it's built inside of the unit, I had to go and actually get a module to get my OEM radio to work and run. Been, wanting to pick up the sirus xm module, I haven't yet. Cause, if you click on audio i believe it shows what you have on that unit, and I can't stand missing a box that doesn't read SIRUS XM. I believe that module would have to go in the glove box, since the bluetooth is right on top of the head unit, I don't recall. I don't look at old vids.
