Daniel - 2 questions for you 1 - Can you change the icons (set the home screen to have just what you want on it ?) 2 - Can you install other apps (specifically - torque)
Just updated my head unit in a 2011 RA for wireless Android Auto. My car had the same factory radio and had BT calling. I hate how aftermarket mics look in the open so I just cut the casing off the mic from my new Pioneer unit and threw it in a piece of foam in the factory mic location in front of the dome lights. Just tuck the wire into the headliner and run behind pass A pillar plastic and you're done. I highly suggest doing this over the cheap looking mic out in the open. I would also recommend a steering wheel interface over programming in the head unit, if you disconnect the battery a lot of aftermarket head units will require re-programming each time. Also at $400+ this is at the same price point as Pioneer and other name brand head units with the same features minus raw screen size, so consider your options.
The hazard button assembly also has a ribbon cable on the right (I suppose for the indicators...?) which goes to the button pcb assembly above... Where do you plug this after? Thank you for the video!
Honestly the mic sucks. After reading this comment I tested it & it’s terrible. I recommend buying a replacement pioneer headunit mic & just replacing the idoing one. I contacted idoing about the mic issue, just waiting for a response.
I just got mine and its really great. Love it so much more than my old radio. Im kinda missing the Boot Screen Logo Option on mine, did they removed it oder do i need to activated that somewhere? Appreciate any help.
Will this work with the 2017 Lancer Se Limited?...And, my car comes with a factory reverse camera, will i be able to connect the camera with the provided harness without buying an extra cable? if i do need the cable. which cable should i buy, please provide the link if you can? ..thank you

So what options would I get for my 2012 Ralliart, it doesn’t have an oem backup camera but I plan to add one later on. It came 2nd owner so it already has a pioneer head unit but none of the steering wheel controls work along with it not having CarPlay.
I have a 2011 Ralliart without Rockford Fosgate audio. If you already have a Pioneer double din head unit, you can get a newer one with wireless/wired carplay (wireless android auto is still only on some of the higher price Pioneers) for like $200 that should plug into the harness already in the car. it will come with all the connections for backup camera stuff if you want to install it in the future. The unit in this video costs more than Pioneers and upcharges for stuff that has come with every head unit I've bought in the last 12 years. The only selling point of this unit is a big screen and even if you know nothing about audio systems it seems easy to install. To get steering wheel controls to work I just used a Pac SWI-RC. You can maybe program it in the head unit without using the SWI, but will probably have to reprogram each time you disconnect the battery without the SWI. Some of the adapter harnesses do come without the Remote Control wire connection pinned (what the SWI uses to communicate with the car) so make sure you have the blue wire pinned out and connected.
How do you change the main screens widgets? I keep seeing tons people using same home launger U19 and they somehow removed the clock and music player without having additional tabs. I like the U19, but that stupid art for music player seeks be big or hard coded as it can't be removed in any way.
So does the 8th gen have that boot up option? Ive been trying to find that on my 2009 civic si. Do i need to update the head unit because the only option is to change UIs which is very cool actually
@@DanielKellert Thanks for the quick reply... Yea, it has a built-in Mic, I read it in the description and also at the top left corner, it says Mic...
