Very helpful. I over filled mine on a grand Cherokee and the sensor malfunctioned. Syphoned off a couple gallons and it started reading properly again. Saved me from replacing the entire tank.
The level sensor doesn't need air above the fluid, but it needs a flat surface. So, it's not a problems to be full, but overfilling will make it so the bumpy top of the tank scatters the ultrasonic signal around and you won't get a good reading. Also, when you fill from a bottle and stop the first time it backs up to the filler port, it will be fine. But if you sit there and try to stuff as much in as possible for a long time, that's when you can overfill.
Would younhave the part number for the dpf outlet flex pipe ...mine rusted off the flange and its right next to the injector and supply line...dont want it to melt like in the video (awesome video btw)

Seriously? This information is so helpful. I wish mechanics would be this honest and it’d be happy to pay but the whole needs a new this and that is shit. I would’ve paid 1k to get it cleaned out and drained. Not 2500 for new parts that aren’t needed!
Is the pump inside the tank? I removed the part with the three screws and it doesn't go inside the tank, there is no hole/cavity. It has a hose attached to it though, I am confused.
If there are no other codes and DEF dosing unit replacement procedure was executed in Witech and DEF primed, then you should drive it and see if the code goes from active to stored. In some cases the PCM needs to be re-flashed (even with the same part number to get it all cleared up).

It’s called pigtail connector for the DEF injector. Try disconnecting it first and if the connector and wiring are not melted then you may not need it.

Im trying to determine why my 2014 jeep grand Cherokee would be getting the p203e level sensor code, if I have not overfilled it. The CEL came on when the def tank was about 40% full. Any ideas?
Changed DEF injector new pigtail and new supply line!! All codes are clear except engine will not start!! Mine says 34 kilometres so wondering if I can diesel up and drive will it reset it self??? Please help

Why is scan tool needed? The same thing happened in my truck. I replace the line and the inyector in my truck, but it doesn't work after replacing the line, and the inyector, stops spraying the DEF

Just had this same problem ( codes / DEF warning / See Dealer / Milage limited ) on 2016 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel.

what about a P2002 code? my check engine lite is on because of it. Any ideas?

Could be faulty sensor or corroded/chaffed wiring, fyi the sensor is part of the DEF tank.

You might need someone with a factory scan tool to extend the millage/kilometers so you can complete that long drive cycle to clear that DEF message.

After DEF line replacement You need to prime the system with a scan tool.
What is that mean? Delete all the codes ?
