I had a bad MAF sensor, cleaned EGR and Intake Manifold, changed air filter now I have 0 black smoke, but before that I could block road with smoke for a full minute if there is no wind xD
Black diesel
For the MAF and the egr did any signs appeared?
thank you for these simple and straight to the point videos
Thank You!
Good explenation video
Thank you
Thank you so much ❤
well done
Thanks for the great tips! 👍😁
Thanks for this checklist. I get smoke and rough running accelerating from low RPM which clears up at higher RPM, with a Volvo D4162T. Hoping I don't have to go as far as injectors to clear it up.
Big Thumbs Up 👍👍👍 please upload more such helpful do it yourself videos

What would you like to see?
My M47TU engine started vibrating more last year, in the last month it has started shooting loads of black smoke and the turbine was hardly kicking in anymore with acceleration taking truly painfully long. I'd put my foot all the way down and wait about 30 seconds or so to get to the desired speed. I also noticed that when the engine was cold it performed better or as if nothing was wrong. Now I did occasionally get a check engine light which would go away on its own and come back. On a scan a MAF fault and DME fault showed. I changed the MAF as that is one that does not get cleaned! Once contaminated, you need a new one (on my 3rd one), also changed the gasket that goes onto the turbo inlet air pipe because it was shredded. Performance has improved, the turbo always kicks in albeit still a bit late and definitely not back to normal power. As well as still a lot of smoke, although a bit less than before, except on really hot days when it darkens the past in the rearview mirrors. Noticed blowby on the flex exhaust pipe, lots or oil squirting from the exhaust recirculation pipes that goes on the EGR. Next step is to remove the EGR and that pipe and clean them both as well as having the flex pipe replaced. Will see if these solve the issues.
Are you getting a lot of blow-by in your crankcase?
@@CyesH-we6oo No, I finally solved it. Besides the turbo inlet gasket, it was also the egr inlet pipe which was cracked and leaking air. Replaced that as well and the engine returned to normal.
Thanks buddy i have those problems with my 7.3 powerstroke ford excursion and also the glow plug diesel module is not working. I have to eliminate the black smoke that is my mission
a very important cause it intake manifold or intake valves plugged with soot coming from EGR system, it is why i fear the VW software " adjustment" to conform federal requirements, the NOx content was too high ( an indication for high combustion temperature ) so an easy way to remedy is to increase the EGR shot more economical than install a DEF injection system but with the result that the engine becomes soot plugged much before the end of its useful life meaning that the probability that the engine needs deep service at the charge of the owner is significantly increased
Replacing dır sensor fixed dıs ıssue of running rich black smoke
I got a Toyota Yaris off my dad and it’s making tons of black smoke under emissions test, I recently serviced this a few months ago too
Which engine do you have in your car?
Hi I have a ford mondeo from 2004 and the garage changed my injectors and the injection pump and since then my car it’s sending a lot black smoke under acceleration… do you have any idea why this happens?😢
Why fix it, it's wonderful.
Why noone ever talks about old, cracked rubber boost pipes? You cannot see the damage until its under pressure and you cant get pressure without the load.
Hi I have black smoke coming from my X3 e83 deisel turbo there is alot of oil in the turbo pipe and and temperature sensor in the turbo charge pipe will this oil get into exhaust and burn the grey smoke it's only on hard exceratuon I think the turbo oil seals have have gone
That does sound like oil seals in turbo. Have it checked as soon as possible.
@@MechanicBase thinking of changing turbo it's easy fix garret do a reconditioned one

Regular maintenance: A foreign concept for most people in North America.
You missed the most obvious. Check air intake pipes for any splits it’s also an easy fix.
And.... Vacuum pipes
Anyone else find the constantly moving hand annoying?
So regardless the engine is new. It shouldn’t throw black smoke? Sorry, I am fairly new to diesel engines.
Which car do you have?
@@MechanicBase HiAce van
yep it shouldn't
I have no vgr value or dpf or cat on my 2002 freelander, I get no black smoke 😁
Thanks for the information. Now i know how to get black smoke 😅
no smoke, no poke! long live the oil burners
Thank you
