As in made you get one or pass? Quotes for me are oddly twice as much compared to an R7/Ninja 650/CBR650R. It's really kind of silly, this competes with those yet somehow is twice as much to insure.
@@AFJDM I got one. My particular insurance counts this and the regular 2cyl 400 as the same thing. Its like a drop down menu error. Street >> Kaw >> Ninja >> 400 and thats it. They may have wised up by now; I've had it for like 9 mos already.
@@AFJDM I was paying $112 dollars with All State for my 2015 Versys 650. Now they want $900 a year for my 2024 zx4rr. Insurance is not mandatory in Florida. I might just get comprehensive just so I have some peace of mind when I park it somewhere.
@@enyelator1239thanks for listing an actual amount for insurance. I read high all the time but thats a matter of perception and still gives no real idea. So, thanks‼️😁
I'm loving my ZX4RR. It brings me a lot of joy on the country curvy roads that I ride. I put a steering dampener on it and it tracks great around curves at speed. Didn't need a track bike for the kind of roads I ride on.
Having owned two 636 in the past I bought this bike for me and my daughters who have begun to ride …you can’t put a price on memories I do believe with a pipe and a proper tune this little zx4rr will be a punchy little thing
As you've ridden the 636 and also the zx4rr, how big is the difference in power, handling and feel? I know for the 400 it tapers off around 220 kmph and the 600, around 250 kmph, but tbh how often are we really doing these speeds on bad, public roads. I wanna know about the 0 to 200 kmph, how different they feel in realistic road speeds.
@@fj5434 huge difference on the stock ECU map It’s punchy don’t get me wrong but you really have to be up in the revs +10k At a little over 100 miles on the bike now I’ve not redlined it out yet but have come close It’s still very fun to ride but the power is nothing like the 636 I’m expecting a significant change with the ECU flash from what I’ve seen already with shops who have flashed these bikes
got in early! can't wait to see what you say, if these are floating around the 2ndhand market in a few years in reasonable quantity this might be my forever bike
I have moved over the pond to the States and find myself in the fortunate position to be able collect a couple nostalgic modern bikes, one a year or so as a recreational rider with a once in a blue moon track day. I have a 60th anniversary R7, so this will go nicely next to it in the 40th anniversary colours... And I hope to pick one up later this year and will be a cool odd couple. I also have an old Triumph 1050. So will then have a 2, a 3 and a 4 cylinder in my three favourite brands. Looking forward to adding this fun little thing to the fold. Would love to add a 900RS Cafe at some stage too... That will be couple of years away though.
i would have liked to see comp and rebound on the front other than that i love this thing and cant ride it enuf, got the KRT, it looks so good. sounds great, handles great, love it.
love your content. Am I the only one who cant find any content on your channels on back-to-back comparison 4RR vs 6RR? That Monday you mention in a video must have passed :D
Never ridden a sports bike before but ive just ordered one of these , at 6ft 5 i will probably look silly on it but i dont care , no license losing and that sound !
Their is a different kind of fun to be had on small bikes, you can wack the throttle open and ring the nuts out of it , all while doing legal and safe speeds 👍👍👍👍 And what better way to do it then a little inline 4 screamer .
Btw: since our licences were 2 yrs on a 125er then get ANY kind of bike 250cc's & above what with the applicable anti-pollution-laws here in 🇨🇭, the importers didn't bother to let anyFZR/ Ninja/Fireblade/VFR/GSX-R400's in, 'only' the 750's & above, so we had no idea what fun a 'little' Ninja ZXR400 would be like. Now we're also getting them as a first step towards the 636 & 1000.
I’d give it a little time with the price. Super sports don’t sell well and they’re probably trying to recoup their expenses off the hype of people who jumped on it right away. I wouldn’t call it overrated. This bike is competing with itself. So there’s nothing to compare it to besides its sister which has been a cult bike for 5 years. This is just the new version of that since the Ninja 400/500 now has serious competition. I can’t wait to watch 20-30 of these battling it out on track. At least it will sound good too.
to be honest, this bike is really advanced. Ride by wire, up&down quickshifter, and an engine that survive the constant 10+k rpm revving requires some really quality materials, and adjustable suspension. It's a premium product, but still cheaper than most 600cc bike
I've bought a 40th Anniversary one, can't wait to pick it up in march
Same here! Dealer keeps telling me any time in the next 60 days.
The insurance quote is what sealed the deal on my zx4rr.

How dose daily drive on zx4rr feel ?
Amazing video! The power graph you showed is US spec tho because of the peak ~55hp. EU has the unlimited ~75hp so the high RPM keeps climbing
I just got 24 anniversary addition looking forward to the warmer weather here in the US.
I have a 2023 MT10SP for speed and comfort but also just got the 2024 ZX4RR for fun and it has that in spades!

I want to try the RS version of this bike!!
Great review Rob, I want one
As a motorcycle audiophile, this seems like it would be music to my ears. Imagine those Welsh roads on this?
I’m the guy that screamed around on a 400 in the 90’s and when I saw that 40th anniversary zx4rr I just had to have it. 😊
I'm much more into torque, but I love the sound. Hopefully someone makes a triple competitor.
Oh that sound, flashbacks of a misspent youth 😆! It’s tugging at my heart, and my wallet.
PS: I do enjoy your Vlogs 😉👍!
Want to see this against gs08r
if you like the sound of it now, get that baffler (silencer) removed then you will LOVE IT.
I want one so bad after that enginenoise!
Dude cmn!! Even if you test the bikes...dont rev them to the limit when the engine is cold. Its not yours...
Picked up as beginner
Real Nice bike and I would go for the 40th Anniversary for sure!!! BUT £8.5 to 9k is far too much in my mind, £6 to 7K is more the mark.
400 fours have always been just barely cheaper than their larger counterparts, even going back to the CB400F. It’s just their legacy, unfortunately.
Might sell my Rvf 400 for one of these
Overrated and Overpriced, IMO
