  • For those who prefer raw recordings: • Sonic CD - All Good Fu...
Played on a Sega Genesis Model 1 through the Mega Everdrive PRO cartridge.
Here it is, the illustrious 12. This run overall had a lot of luck with nailing the more hit and miss strats such as CC3 and QQ3, however MM1 was a huge mess and WW2 to a lesser extent. Fortunately though I nailed the MM3 TAS clip because of the upset from Act 1 so I'm very happy about that. Happy to leave the category as is now (unless I want to lower it at some point but will see).
Also, I may do All Time Stones later in the future. Stay tuned for that if I do.
    FAQ:
Q: What is the All Good Futures category?
All Good Futures is a category where you aim to achieve the Good Ending of the game through destroying all the Generators in each Act 1 and 2 of every zone. These are found in the Past version of these two Acts, which is accessed through traveling to the Past through a corresponding Past post. In each Act 3 though, the only major change is that you get the Good Future layout instead of the Bad Future one (layouts slightly differ but they are different enough) when the corresponding Act 1 and 2 of that zone both have the generators destroyed.
Q: What version of the game are you playing on?
This is the official Japanese 1993 release of the game, which is the best version of the game to run on. This isn't just due to the soundtrack being better overall though, there is a quick reset function that you can trigger in-game when you pause the game and then use an input combination to trigger it. This differs depending on if you're playing the US or the EU/JP version, where the former requires you to only press one of the jump buttons (which is awful for doing certain tricks) and the latter requires you to press all 3 jump buttons simultaneously (much better).
Q: What is a Moving Peelout (MPO)?
Moving Peelout is a technique that allows you to go through/bypass walls done through a charged peelout with having movement going towards the left or right which saves a lot of time in a few spots in the run. Video explanation from Bertin (for condensing purposes): • Sonic CD (Sega CD): Mo... . Basically, why would you ever collide with a wall when charging a peelout? is all it comes down to as to why this property exists.
Q: Why is IGT utilized instead of RTA?
"Getting a worse time on a level can be faster real time because of the time bonus, which is dumb, so we use IGT. Also encourages more time traveling, which is a cool mechanic, allows for deeper routing, etc" - Werster
Q: Why is the Wacky Present track set to the US version instead of the JP version?
Changing music files is a modification that is allowed for the game (and the only one too) since it does not affect how the game outputs gameplay. I personally use the US track over the JP one because I think it sounds better and more funky :)
