  • For over 30 years, Cold Steel has promoted what we like to call a "Warrior Lifestyle" -- we believe wholeheartedly in the positive power of Martial Arts and the right of an individual to defend themselves, their loved ones, their community and their country.
    We encourage everyone to study Martial Arts and self-defense. To be kind, respectful and to be a positive influence upon their community.
    Many of Cold Steel's employees study and train in a variety of Martial Arts -- our Ventura Headquarters even has its own custom-made training facility -- and we have the utmost respect for anyone who chooses to train.
    Whether a Black Belt or a novice, if you walk that path -- we salute you!
    We have used our pioneering developments in high impact materials to create a wide range of training tools for the modern Martial Artist. From our durable rubber training knives to our virtually unbreakable training swords, our products are reliable, functional and cost effective.
    A worthy addition to any dojo, gym or school

    I just got my Cold Steel Training Waster/Medieval Sword today. Love the grip and hilt, length is great too. Unfortunately, the balance is crap and the blade is at least twice as thick as it needs to be.
    If the Waster had a blade as thick as the Boomerang, it would be perfect. As-is, though, it's a big, heavy and clumsy club. Too dangerous to really spar with, too unbalanced to practice solo.
    But, on the plus side, my attempts to cut it down to a more useable size have proven that Cold Steel's polyproplene training weapons are absurdly durable. If I can barely damage it with power tools, I can't imagine it ever becoming unusable through regular, even vigorous, use. Indestructable is right. Theses things are the One Ring of practice weapons when it comes to being hard to destroy.

      +John Cena I've tried one of their regular bokuto (not O Bokuto), it doesn't seem any more dangerous than the wooden ones we use. You're not supposed to use it for sparring and whacking one another, at least in Katori Shinto-ryu etcetera; it's for kata, suburi, iaijutsu, etc.

    I have the buckler and I can say it is very indestructible. There are other videos where it took many bullets and buckshot and then they blew it up and it was still together mostly and still went up against steel swords well. And then i just got the gladius trainer and I can say I am very satisfied.

    I have to give a glowing review to the cold still hand and a half trainer I bought. True the balance is kind of off but it isn't an actual blade so that can be expected. I was practicing on a large wooden beam out and my backyard, after about an hour I delivered an overhand swing at the top of the beam, and the beam split in two. I was completely surprised, the sword however only had a few scuff marks.

    By any chance, have you ever sold replacement bands for your trainers that hold the hilt in place? Because my 17 month old Hand and a half trainer's rubber band that holds the hand guard in place has fatigue on the outside of it. Have you ever needed to have someone's sword trainer band changed. If so then I would appreciate it.

    Seems like a fun game: have a rubber knife and a friend. If you get "cut" or "stabbed" with the blade, you lose the round. Whoever starts with the knife at the beginning alternates each round, first to win 2 in a row wins.

    Weapons are pretty light for their length and I'm not sure about the balance point.
    You could add a 2-3mm wide springsteel core along the whole length of the sword. Slightly thicker at grip and pommel.
    If volume is a problem in pommel balance, make it from tungsten instead.
    I know that this would add to production and in the end final retail cost, but you could make current all polypropylene swords and this would be the "de lux" version for someone who is willing to pay for better balance and feel of the sword.

    umm...you know, these are TRAINING swords. as in, swords for sparring and technique drills with a partner. with that in mind, it's a bit unsettling to see that you can break a brick or whatever that was at 0:36 with these

    • @CoryBroDinomitegamer
      @CoryBroDinomitegamer 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you want to be able to clash swords together without them wobbling like rubber, they need to be like that to be sturdy.

    • @CoryBroDinomitegamer
      @CoryBroDinomitegamer 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In actual competitive duelling the people wear protective gear and swing the swords as you would in a real fight, all these swords need is to be strong. If these swords were to be softer then you might as well play swords with foam kids toys

    • @letitgogu594
      @letitgogu594 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cory Bro www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=CS92BKS&name=Cold+Steel+Medieval+Training+Sword
      www.kultofathena.com/product.asp?item=PR9022&name=Rawlings+Synthetic+Sparring+Single+Hand+Sword+-+Brown+Grip
      I'm not necessarily talking about flexibility. I'd rather be worried about the weight and balance. Take a look at these links. The Cold Steel training sword is balanced about three inches further away from the guard than another training sword of similar weight. That basically makes it more like a bludgeon.

    Don’t use cold steel single sword single sword wasters. They’re unnecessarily tip heavy and are therefore death sticks. Get Blackfencer or Purpleheart instead if you’re trying to learn I33.

    Were the pull ups suppose to show the weapon durability or which members were too fat to achieve the mind blowing amount of 3?

    I wonder, couldn't these be made with a steel rod in the center, for more rigidity, and a weight closer to that of the real deal? I've even heard you're supposed to train with a heavier blade, so that the real blade feels lighter to you once you start practicing "for real".

      Try a training regime with an oak saburito, if these training weapons were too heavy they would become clubs and potentially cause injury.

      ***** or he can go and buy a piece of flat steel and use this for training ....

      jep , his question made no sense xD
      i got it wrong ... i thought that he asked about strength training for sword fencing ( using heavier swords so that the ones used in fighting or fencing are easier to use ) ... a flat steel used for practicing instead of a feder or similar training tool is good for building
      grip strength .... ^^

      KraljCorvin I know this is really old, but I don't think its a good idea to practice too much with a heavier weapon. You will move slower during training, and if you were possibly in a real fight, the real swords would handle quicker than you are used to. Out of my own experience, weight and strength is second to speed.
      When you got a chance to hit someone, you wanna hit it fast, if its a good hit you will usually deliver more energy than needed, the strength and impact is usually an overkill, resulting from the fact that you just need to move you sword there quickly. That is the biggest flaw with the argument of using heavier swords in any situation.
      But using it for training endurance and grip strength might be a good idea, so that might not be too bad.
      The biggest problem here is that I am awake at 2 am, writing to a 1 year old comment.

      Patrik Lilja Heavier swords are made for the purpose of becoming used to move fast with a normal sword. German knights did this to get the power and strength to wield their swords and it worked great. Get uses to handle a piece of flat steel like a normal sword ( work on speed an accuracy ) but don't forget to spar with normal weighted blunt swords.

      Potato Chip Jones Clubs aren't balanced like swords, so it wouldn't really be a proper training sword.
