  • Atlas Adjustment (Cervical Instability Exercises): Suffering from headaches, migraines, neck pain and dizziness? The cause could be a misaligned atlas vertebra.
When misalignment of the atlas vertebra happens, it can lead to several ailments, and sometimes, an atlas correction is often necessary to get everything back on track.
This is where our atlas adjustment (a.ka. atlas correction / misalignment) exercises comes into play! So much is said and assumed about this pain condition. A large number of small muscles, ligaments, and fasciae are attached to the atlas vertebra - often the muscles in the neck become shortened and tense, pulling on the atlas, which then causes it to slip a little. So, if you want to get rid of your atlas pain, start here and learn how to release that built-up tension.
Do these atlas correction exercises regularly 6 times a week - at least at the beginning, and see how they can help you with your atlas pain / neck pain!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! I've had occipital neuralgia pain for the last 10 years. I've done everything from seeing an upper cervical chiropractor 3x a week for 4 years, acupuncture, physical therapy 2x a week for 2 years, many nerve blocks, many medial branch blocks, several cranial sacral therapy sessions, massages and dry needling throughout my whole physical therapy process. Not to mention over 40 different medications that never worked. These stretches have literally saved my life! I've been doing these twice a week for the last month and for the first time in 10 years, I don't have the excruciating nerve pain in my head. I will recommend your channel to everyone!

This is me over the past year. I spent so much on an upper cervical chiropractor its embarrassing and it didn't help. The worst was he made me feel like I'd had to see him for life and like there was no hope when I decided to stop using him.

The chiropractor I was seeing made me feel the same way. What made it worse is I was seeing a dentist at the time for TMJ and they would play patients to one another to make more money. There are some sick people in this world. The both did more damage to me and made my symptoms so much worse.

I just went for Regenexx treatment injections in my upper cervical ligaments to help strengthen whatever the whiplash weakend to cause all my symptoms. It was my last resort. Ill know within 6 weeks if it will help. It takes that long for tissue to start generating.

I have upper cervical instability and EDS. I can’t move my neck down at all. When I do, I develop an immediate migraine. I tried this with very very small movements and the pain was manageable. I know we’ll enough, though, that pushing to a level of “pain” is completely destructive. When I push to even mild pain, I suffer for days. After doing these exercises with very tiny movements, the pain is controlled and I see a small benefit. I’ll be trying this regularly to see if I get some long time benefits. For those of you who have instability and EDS, the rule of thumb is that it should NOT hurt. Even a little bit. This can cause damage. So adjust these exercises if necessary!

You may wanna look into strengthening for ligament laxity on Kjetil Larson - MSK Neurology videos on YT. He says stretching can sometimes be counterproductive esp for whiplash. Strengthening not stretching is his mantra.

@@melodyebuskin5490 That's right I can't see how stretching could be userful for a cervical instability that usually is caused by a ligament and/or miofascial laxity...in that case further stretching could be counterproductive and is usually suggested fascial release and strenghtening

Simply mind-blowing. I have a HUGE trigger point on the upper back of my neck for years. when I try to massage it, it gives me nausea and/or a headache. While researching, I discovered what cervical instability and cervicovagopathy are. I learned that my asthma (I have suffered from it for years), my headaches, my respiratory instabilities, my inflammations in the fingers, top of the hands, forearms, shoulders, shoulder blades and even my digestion problems could be linked to a problem with the upper cervical level.
I tried different movements, without success. I just made your move. Just the video applying everything you said. Mind-blowing result: sensations of relaxation and global re-starting, re-circulation and movement everywhere: arms, elbows, stomach, digestive system, release of a huge weight in the shoulders, chest (for several minutes, I don't have any difficulty breathing at all anymore, which is very rare), the lower left part of my stomach gurgles, tingles and my body seems to be rebooting. And I feel enormously relieved, appeased everywhere.
I will do this everyday and see if I can get rid of all the symptoms. Of course I also work on my nutrition and others topics, but this exercise may be the final element to my healing. Thank you SO MUCH !

Hey Doctor! Very informative video, I have upper cervical neck issues and I plan on starting these stretches to see if they help! I do have a question though.
You say make the pain as close to a 10 as possible, but what pain is considered "good pain" and what pain is "stop"? Like. Any signs or feelings associated with the stretching pain we should look out for that lets us know if its too much for us? If that makes sense?
    Thanks!

      Hi, Allen!
Thanks for your feedback! 🙏😊 We're happy to hear that our exercises are helpful to you! 💪🙂
In general we think that exercising and running are hugely beneficial to helping with all kinds of pain. If you rest too much, your muscles and joints gets stiff and sore, but if you exercise regularly you can help strengthen and heal your body. However, as running is a one-sided movement which might also increase the tension in your muscles, it's important to release this tension by doing our stretches and exercises. Therefore, if you're suffering from acute pain, running shouldn't be your first choice for pain relief and you might better pause it until your pain has improved. 🙏

@annettehawkins3412 not easy to tell. I suppose it has released stiffness from my neck. Generally my tinnitus is reduced but I also do yoga and meditation alongside exercises from Dr. Mandell's and Dr Ben Thompson's channel, which I would also recommend. I do not hear my tinnitus when outside, a godbless really. At home later in the evening it is there. My advice to you would be keep at it for the long run and never disappoint over bouts of loud tinnitus. Even if you improve, they will come for sure. I had one only last night. Do your exercises, love yourself, and stay calm and positive. Good luck!

These stretches definitely help but a word or warning if your new to neck stretching.. You gotta be carefull, start by pulling into a pain threshold of 1 and thats it for the first day. See how you feel the next day, if your fine go to a 2, then see how you are the next day and repeat. If you strain the muscles in these areas by accident you can enter a whole world of misery with scary symptoms. Take your time.

Hello thank you for your amazing videos.I have asked you a question and you did answer which was great. I am booked in for a total hip replacement in France the 7th July but my gut feeling says don't do it. I can walk no problem the only time I have pain in the groin is sitting (sometimes) and sometimes going from sit to stand. It's like something locks and when I bend right over it goes then I can stand straight and it's gone. Is it possible for you to do a video call with me as I feel like I'm on a train heading for a crash ! I can pay you with pay pal for example.

    • @Liebscher.Bracht_EN
      @Liebscher.Bracht_EN  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Hanorah!
Thanks for your comment and for getting in touch again. 🙂 In our opinion, replacements should be your last resort, since they don't remove the actual cause of most pain conditions, which are muscular-fascial tensions. As soon as these tensions build up again after surgery due to one-sided movement, your pain will also return. And if your gut feeling tells you something different, it might be worth thinking twice before having the hip replacement. 🙏 You can achieve the same result in a more natural and non-invasive way by simply exercising regularly! 💪 Unfortunately, it's not possible for us to do a video call with you. Maybe you have the chance to come to Germany, visiting one of our certified Liebscher & Bracht therapists? 🙂 Otherwise, we recommend performing our effective stretches, osteopressure techniques, and foam rolling massages. 💪 They are designed to be done on your own and conveniently at home, so just give them a try, practise daily for best results, and let us know how you get on. 👉 lie-br.com/yt-cm3-hip If they're not helping in the long run, you can still consider a replacement. But many people could relieve their pain and avoid a surgery due to our exercises. 😍🤗

Cervical Instability causes damage from the c1 c2 and possibly c3 and c4 causing several life threatening symptoms and major damage to the vagus nerve (all which I have). I have a no neck at all and a huge lump before reaching my actual neck my question is are these exercises going to help me restore the curve that I have. My primary goal is to restore the curve, this will hopefully increase the strength of the vagus nerve and remove any life threatening symptoms that I have such as Fatigue, digestion issues, breathing heartrate issues and several more symptoms etc

      Hi there,
thanks for your comment! We're sorry to hear you're suffering from all these symptoms and conditions. 😞 We can only imagine how excruciating and painful this must be for you! 😥Unfortunately, we are not able to answer your question properly or promise you any success, as we cannot and must not evaluate your individual case from a distance. But our exercises have been proven to help many people with their pain, so it's very likely that they can also help relieve your symptoms and maybe also restore the curve if it's caused by muscular-fascial tensions in the first place. 🙏 As this is a natural treatment approach, we suggest that you just give it a try, because you can't lose anything! 🙂 Go slow and steady, and always remember to use your personal pain scale from 1 to 10 when performing our exercises. Stretch until you reach a 9 on this scale, but always stay under a 10 which means that you should feel an intense pain, but you're still able to breathe calmly and you don't have to tense up. 🙂💪 Please let us know how you get on and how you feel! I am a doctor. I was looking for a solution for two weeks due to numbness in the c6-c7 dermatome area in my left arm, shortness of breath and palpitation sensation and increased neck pain. All my tests and MRI results were normal. Only minimal syrinx formation was observed at the c6-7 level in the neck MRI, and found not pathological. When I did some research, I learned that syrinx formation may be caused by disruption in the circulation of the cerebrospinal fluid and I started your exercises thinking that misalignment in the atlas might be responsible. I also have tmj problem and instability in the sacroiliac joint, I hope I will be better. Thanks for your videos.

Thanks for sharing your personal experience and story with us, Elif! 🙏😊 We also hope that you can relieve your pain and symptoms by doing our exercises on a regularly basis. 💪 As your tests and MRI results were normal, this might indicate that your pain is caused by muscular-fascial tensions (because they can't be seen or found on any results), so you can easily release them by doing our exercises and you have a good chance to get rid of your suffering in the long run. 😍 We've found that most causes of pain are due to tense muscles and fasciae, so our pain therapy is designed to target key pressure points within the body to help it relax and treat the actual root of your pain naturally and sustainably. We're sorry to hear this! 😞 Usually, these exercises should also be helpful with your symptoms, although we can't properly evaluate your individual case from a distance. That's why you better always check in with your physician before you attempt any of the exercises. 🙏 Have you remembered to go slow and steady, and always aim to reach a nine on your personal pain scale from 1 to 10? A ten is just too painful and you have to tense up (which you should always avoid!), but a nine is an intense pain that still allows you to breathe calmly. Remembering this pain scale ensures that these exercises are performed effectively, but you're not harming your body or worsening your pain. 🙂

Hi, I have a few questions. If your neck is unstable and you do these stretches, wouldn’t it make it worse? Shouldn’t you also do neck strengthening exercises? Isn’t your exercise just treating the symptoms? I guess what I am trying to say is if your neck is tight it’s b/c of some reason, ie….weaknesses in your neck, shoulders etc. If we just stretch and not strengthen wouldn’t it just become more unstable? Need to find the root cause. Your thoughts? Thank you for your time!
