  • Follow along as I rework the bone jigging on a vintage Case Whittler (6308) that I found at an antique shop.

Now that was an excellent job, man. And a really well detailed video. I'll be adding that to my library of techniques. Thank you. Cheers.

      Thank you!
It was about a 32 minute recording to start with, so I tried to make it bearable to watch

Excellent job! I think if you didn’t know that it was repaired you wouldn’t know. Once you get that shield in there it will look original.

What I’ve done on a few knives missing the emblem was to use an end casing of a shell I’ve fired like a 357. I cut off the brass end leaving just the rim to an end fitting flush, slightly less than the bone/scale. Scribe or mark the scale side with the missing emblem and rout out the space for the new emblem. Glue the replacement in with your favorite glue, super glue, gorilla glue, or 2 part epoxy. It’s always tough finding a replacement emblem to match the original. However, a nice looking mod will garner some nice comments for us knife enthusiasts. Either way, you can’t go wrong, especially on just a pocket carrier.

I did think about that, I love a knife with a cool bullet casing as a shield.
I also toyed with just continuing the jig over the shield hole. But then someone told me that you can send the year and model info to Case and they will provide you with a replacement shield. So I figured I would try that route first before I went too far with it.
Thanks for suggestions and the comments buddy! 👍🏼
