I like to blacksmith sometimes just for fun!! I have made knives, swords, axes, full cutlery sets for eating, ornaments, keychains and more! It's a really fun experience ❤ congrats on the final product 👏
@@okidoki5695 Although the knife looks good, it is a very poor blade design for anything other than a fighting knife. The craftsman takes round stock and pounds it flat, but then just grinds it to shape rather than forging it to shape, this results in an inferior knife. The worst part is that although he hardened the blade by quenching it in oil, he never tempered the blade. That blade will be so brittle that if he lays it flat on the anvil and strikes it with the hammer, it will break. The knife is pretty but useless.
@@nathanadrian7797 yes,you are explain very well,but...i am wonder why blade should be hard extremely? If I want to survive I will not cut stones for sure....
Danas se pravi tanto nož može jeftino kupiti. Moj fabrički tanto je pre puuuuuno godina koštao kao američki kold stil i sada stoji u ormanu u garaži....
I never like to temper past the blade itself. If you temper the hilt (where it transitions from the blade to handle, usually with a fairly tight corner) it's prone to breaking along that fracture line. Heat up the knife blank in the furnace, but only push it into the oil up to the end of the blade's edge, the oil will still do a gradual tempering through the hilt by way of heat conduction (the oil still taking some heat out of the hilt but not to the same degree as the blade). It makes a difference in how much punishment the finished knife can take without failure.
Sir you are a true craftsman!!! Excellent work. If i knew how to contact him i would pay him whatever he wans to make me a knife!!! If you can please get me his contact info it would be truly appreciated
Nice job. Wouldn't it have been better to place a knot on the opposing side at the end where the rope was threaded through so as to keep the rope from loosening? Just wondering.
You had better chosen, a better steel for a knife. Spring steel is a sturdy material, but has a lower grade of sharpness, There are much better carbon steels out there. And the Blacksmith forget the tempering process. The blade is too hard, know.
It’s an amazing knife and beautiful too. What kind of art! Congrats to the owner
Super bravo❤

Nice, simple design that still illustrates the talent of the maker. Perhaps you would consider making a twisted Damascus sometime
Bu yetenek falan değil. Bu böyle yapılmıyor bu şekilde herkes yapar. Başka bir yerde nasıl yapıldığını izlemiştim.

OMG What a beautiful survival knife!!!
Where are you going to survive with that knife? Shops on every corner
No, that is a nice looking piece of crap. For survival you want a good practical knife, and that ain't it.
@@nathanadrian7797why is not possible to survive with this knife? I am trying to inderstand..😂

The fact that he didn't even cut the spring steel in half to uncoil it easier, he just went incredible hulk on it.😂
I thought he might lose his beard for a moment there!
