"If I were not a toy poodle I would ask her out on a date". I love Francis!
Oooohh Francis has a crush! :p
You love a homewrecker? Emmy is married with kids and he wants to ask her out! I do not approve! =P
Totemo oishii sona takoyaki desu. Zembu tabetai kimochi ga arimashita.sensei takoyai tsukurikata o oshiete arigato gozaimashita.suri ranka kara nihon e itte motto motto takoyaki tabete hoshii desu.
Than211 maybe she wasn’t married when this video was uploaded?
Fictional Subliminals lmao yeah Emmy eats some weird stuff !
"If I were not a toy poodle I would have asked her out on a date"
Possibly the best bit of youtube dialogue ever
"Cook" and "Dog" have a wonderful relationship. :)
LOL INDEED
musicbyastrid I couldnt stop laughing for 5 whole minutes
musicbyastrid Hilarious ... poor poodle ;)
musicbyastrid yea... but she has a boyfriend, maybe married, and 2 kids. so Francis wouldn't have any luck.
My friend emmymadeinjapan has demonstrated how to make takoyaki (th-cam.com/video/TyadJhV8vHU/w-d-xo.html) using a cake pop maker and she used our takoyaki batter recipe! There is a much heated debate whether cabbage leaves can be used in takoyaki. If your guests are Japanese, make sure to get permission so that nobody gets upset... You can also use mochi, cheese, kimchi, sausage, or bacon for fillings and enjoy a variety of flavors! (*^^*)
Thanks, Chef & Francis, For sharing your takoyaki batter recipe. It was perfect!
emmymadeinjapan Francis fancies you...lol. You have ties to so many foodtubers!
Thank you for the recipe. I must try it. Not many octopus on the prairies but we do get shrimp :)
Hi chef and Francis I'm glad you and Emmy are friends :)
If you don't have a Takayuki pan or a cake pop pan thing, you can also use a cast iron bunt donut pan.
"She's an adorable lady, and if I were not a toy poodle, I would have asked her out on a date" omggg I love you guys and this channel
that's exactly what I say about chef. however my wife might not approve 😅
it was so cute when he mentioned emmymadeinjapan 😭😂💖
Next time you're in town, I can cook this for you XD

For those considering buying an electric actual takoyaki pan online, keep in mind they are usually imported from Japan and are meant to run on 100V. They will usually work at 110-120V too, but will be a bit hotter than intended, so you may be more likely to burn them if spending too long putting in fillings.
this explains a lot as to why mine always seemed to burn so quickly on the outside but still raw in the inside! thanks for the mention!
There are converters to change 110-120V to 100V, but they can be up to US$80 or so (maybe as low as ~US$40 if you find a deal), which is often more than the pans themselves. Also, the higher heat is more likely to bubble or peel the non-stick coatings of those imported pans.

You can buy transformers on ebay for really cheap as well to prevent the voltage overload!
Thanks everyone. I may also just suck at doing it because actually, when my Japanese made takoyaki using my machine, it was perfectly fine.. Haha!
Cooking with Dog Wow I just found your channel, super educational and funny! That Takoyaki looks mouthwatering!
Trevor! Love your channel, man.
I used your recipe to make takoyaki at home yesterday with a few of my friends!!! They turned out soooo well! I used baby octopuses (octopi, octopodes, etc.), shrimps, and ponzu-marinated pork chops. They were all so delicious and I can't thank you more for your recipe! Please keep making great videos, and your fans will wait for you no matter how long it takes to produce more recipes! Thank you chef!
"If I wasn't a poodle, I would have asked her out on a date" haha! X)
"If I wasn't a poodle, I wouldn't have jumped all over her leg and sniffed her privates,." but then again,.
Been almost 4 full years, and this video still makes me just as hungry as it did when I first watched it! Time flies and your quality has stayed true against the test of time in my humble opinion. Thank you for the half a decade of teaching and entertainment. I look forward to more content as always and wish you all the best!
I always watch your videos when I'm starving and I have no food in the house...
Chef is so cute!! Her laugh at the end is so adorable!
WAIT! I never realised the male voice was supposed to be the dog! This changes everything! xD
I just realised it while watching now
Are you guys serious? He starts off literally every fucking video with “Hi, I’m Francis. The host of this show Cooking with Dog.” How freaking dense are yall...
@@ladyghirahim5418 fuck you
I know you probably aren't active anymore, but hello! Fellow homestucker
who else did you think it was supposed to be
たこ焼きって最高! I bought a cast-iron takoyaki pan a long time ago and was always too nervous to try using it. Now Chef and Francis have given me the courage to try. 怖がってもがんばります!
Good luck! I'm still trying to buy one but I don't know where to look. ^^
*****
Check Amazon! I just looked and there are tons of them available. Shipping might be expensive because they're so heavy, but it's easy enough to get one there. :) I'm lucky to live in an area with lots of Japanese expats so I could just buy mine from a store, but you should be able to get one for yourself online!
Kae Winters Thank you. It'll be nice to have an authentic takoyaki pan.
*****
You're welcome! Takoyaki are just SO delicious, it's something everyone should have the pleasure of trying at least once (even if they have it with sausage or shrimp or cheese or something other than octopus).
I also own a cast iron takoyaki pan (maybe even the same one as you). The trick really is in the heat source. You want a nice, even flame from center to edge, otherwise you'll be juggling different cooking times, which is a massive headache. Unfortunately, my range top is one of those with only a single row of burner outlets holes, so it's not uniform in the least. You'll probably do better with a good butane stove like what Chef uses as there are many more design options to choose from (plus, it's mobile!).
" She is an adorable lady and if I were not a toy poodle, I would have asked her out on a date. "
I can't be the only one who noticed this, right?
Cool recipe. Am currently checking out emmy's video. Thanks!
no your not when i heard that i was like : ha!! good luck with that
When I heard him say that, I just laughed. I love the subtle comedy.
Best Taboyaki tutorial yet!! One of my best friends is half Japanese and a wonderful cook. For Christmas, this year, he's getting a Takoyaki kit (assembled in peices by me). He makes an amazing boiled octopus (SO tender) and this is perfect for him. I'm going to charge his inner Taboyaki... with this vid, and then gift him with the kit. THANX!!
I laughed so hard when Francis said he would ask Emmy out on a date!
me too, it was SO CUTE! I miss Francis! RIP puppy.

The tongue in cheek humor of this channel's title is just grand.
I love chef's infectious laughter. She and Francis always brings a smile to my face.
Francis, so cheeky!!!! This video and recipe demonstration was a lot of fun.
Chef, that looks WONDERFUL! I've recently developed a love for shrimp and all I want now is to make this. And thank you, Francis, for the link to the cake pop tip! I'm really hoping to get to try this recipe out.
hard to say anything, except A MASTER PIECE! so so creative
Watching Kamen Rider Ghost and seeing Alain's obsession with takoyaki makes me wanna try it
Thank you for ever expanding your video library. I have had dinner parties with all ingredients assembled and two laptops, each loaded with a different video. My guests watch the video(s) and then replicate the dish. To MUCH success.
chef has good taste, shrimp is one of my favorite foods :Dalso, francis is adorable
I think this is my favourite episode of Cooking With Dog. Everyone's spirits were SO high!!
I love this fresh new take on your original takoyaki video! It was the one that introduced me to your channel and made me immediately run out to my local Asian supermarket to purchase a small cast iron takoyaki pan. Since then, I've been steadily improving my technique. Using that pan is not as easy as the electric versions because most stove tops with gas ring burners don't evenly heat the pan, resulting in the surrounding wells hearing quickly, but less so in the center ones. I also want to say that your instructions this time to add more batter to the takoyaki after the first rotation is wise advice, indeed, as I've often found that the balls would not fully close without that extra little bit and end up looking like Pac-Man eating a tako (maybe a cute bento idea?). And one can never have too many chopped green onions =3
Try using a cast iron griddle or pan underneath of the takoyaki pan to distribute the heat. Worked for me with another type of pancake cooker. Now, off to go find a takoyaki pan... Woosh!
The thing about takoyaki pans, though, is that the bottoms are hemispherical, so not much surface area to transfer heat. Not saying it wouldn't work, but the efficiency is gonna suck. That's why the street vendor ones are usually direct flame under the plates.
This channel _never_ get old, it only gets better. Each video is a delight. ♡
I bought a takoyaki maker on Ebay almost two years ago, when I saw the seller was from Japan I knew it was good quality, also it was the cheapest from all the listed machines, and my takoyaki maker still works very well to this day. I use shrimp when I make takoyaki because octopus is very hard to come by where I live. I also use hot dog franks and cheese, they're ok I guess.
Do they charge you for shipping? and how long does it take?
" I also use hot dog franks and cheese, " Yankee-yaki?
fullmetal_alyssa Some may do and some are free shipping, When I bought mine it was free shipping and it took around 2 weeks (or less, I can't remember now) to arrive, you just have to go and look for the deals, that's what I do.
***** I live in Oklahoma, so I guess is Okie-yaki?
***** Yankees are what Japanese usually refer Americans as. Or Gaijin. So, the Yankee part was specifically because we're Americans, not from our specific state.
Finally! I made this recipe today after seeing this video so many years ago! Let me just say it is a great recipe and I followed it exactly. Try it people!
This dog has a better chances of dating than me....dat slick moves tho 4:32
This is one of the most delicious and entertaining street food to watch making
I HAVE WANTED TO EAT THESE EVER SINCE I WATCHED CARDCAPTOR SAKURA WHEN I WAS 5
Its amazing to eat and hopefully your dream can come true
no t cool a ramen shop near me makes these, they are delicious.
Soooo good! :)
This is just *sniff* beautiful. Bless you chef Francis.
"...And if I were not a toy poodle, I would've asked her out on a date"
christ that's adorable
6 years later and I am craving takoyaki again! I love this recipe so much I’m going to make some soon!!
Emmy is married....
I don't think her husband would like a toy poodle dating Emmy.
the best cooking channel on the whole youtube
Oho, Francis, you DOG you. :3
I remember the first time I saw a takoyaki pan and I was like "oh it's those "cake pop" pans" but i'm sure there's a slight difference. probably quality.
I think the cake pop makers go up to a higher temperature? I'm pretty sure the pan itself is pretty much the same tho.
*****
See I would think the other way around. A) because gimmicky home electric griddles usually don't get very hot, and B) because Emmy-chan told us to make sure to get the cake pop pan super hot before making them.
Kairu Hakubi ah reading back i actually meant that i thought the takoyaki makers would go up to the higher temp xD so tired..
The one I bought is cast-iron, so you set it on top of the stove-top and use it that way. Since cast-iron is exceptionally good at getting very very hot and holding the heat, I'm sure you'd get a better result with a pan over direct heat than something that's electric.
Kae Winters
I was actually wondering about that. I assumed any cheap gimmicky item like that would be aluminum, and the real thing would be iron. then I remembered japan has at least historically been a little low on iron supply, so i don't know how old takoyaki is but the original pans were probably.. copper?
The satisfying batter from splashes to a round cute takoyaki!!!
LOL!!! Who knew Francis was so flirty ;)? Flirty Francis!
I only found out about your channel because of Emmy! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?! This looks amazing! (:
I love your channel! Thank you so much for such WONDERFUL cooking ideas! You're the best! =)
Looks great!!! Congratulations for the show!
Hey, Francis... Emmy is very charming and speaks well, but she's no TOY POODLE! I mean, this video got over one and a half million views, so I think you can be proud. Think of how many people learned to make this from your video!
Thank you!😍 Francis must be very happy to see your comment in heaven!🐩💐
I love these guys. Their recipes are so good and the videos are really nice and fun. It helps that Chef reminds me a bit of my grandma....
The Cabbage-Takoyaki discussion. Serious Business.
Thankyou! We love these- we had them in Singapore all the time when we lived there. My son loves your channel and has watched it since birth. He is now 3, and calls your channel "cooking with woowoo" (woof woof)
Dat accent tho
😂😂
It's cute~
its like italian and french mixed together, yet still Japanese as well.
I just can't 😂😂😂
Jooyoung Kang I can't listen to him or else I'll die... just the accent... so thank you captions
That is the most well trained dog I've ever seen. He even sits still while sitting directly in front of food
LOL Francis confessing his feelings for Emmy XD
Yay, a sweet recipe is coming next week, can't for that, love the sweet recipes from the channel, they always look so delicious and chef makes everything look so simple and easy to make. I love this channel!
Hi Chef I have a question, do we need to cook the octopus and shrimp first before making it?
Chef used raw shrimp in the video but they cooked thoroughly. In Japan, octopuses are often sold in cooked form in regular stores. :) Linh Nguyen
Cooking with Dog Thank you chef. I would give this a try
could we use "cooked squid" than octopus ?
This looks awsome (as always)! You did a great work chef and the emmy's video looks interesting.
I do have a question though. Is the takoyaki suppose to be "mushy"/ "juicy" on the inside? I do keep turning them until they are golden brown and are easily turned in the pan, but when I bite into it, the center is kinda "mushy". Is this the way they are suppose to be?
Please and Thank You
Yes, not liquid/runny but soft/mushy :)
Thank you
it should be soft, mushy and keep the heat for a long time :3
Oh cooking with the dog, how I missed U! U just reminded me how much I loved to cook & how I watched ur vids all the time❤️ I'm glad I found ur channel again, I truly enjoy it, keep ur up. Ur inspiring me to get back in the kitchen, send u love from California💗🐾
Ebiyaki is an actual thing? I might have to go out and get one of those pans then!
Check out this ebiyaki. :) The shrimp tail is sticking out of them! ebimaruhonpo.com Alchemist Hannah
Takoyaki is pretty great because you don't actually have to put in the 'tako'. All sorts of combinations are fun. My sister hates seafood, so her favourites are cheese, kimchi and hotdogs.
I love Kansai food. I used to walk up and down Dōtonbori in Osaka just eating all day. I will try to make these. They look delicious.
(forgive me if I made some mistakes, I'm learning Japanese, so...)

this lady... she can f#cking cook anything
everybody is so lively and happy in this episode! :)

Francis, don't give up on love just because you're a poodle! Ask all beautiful ladies on a date, no matter their species!
Made this today. Used ham and scallops as the filling and it worked great! Still need to practice making it though. Thanks.
"YOU LIKE BUTTON!"
Well ... Francis, enjoy your date XDDDD
You guys make me so happy. Thank you!
anyone here cuz of one piece ? xD
omg, yess! xD
+mschei23 Awesome ! xD it looks so tasty in the series

This is precisely why I want to move to Japan. It looks so amazing....
Definitely best recipe lately!
it's my first time to see cooking channel with dog. i think it fresh and that dog is cute :)
Our Asian supermarket here doesn't sell takoyaki pans :( but I think this would be okay with a really tiny cupcake pan, as long as you pay attention and keep turning them until they're round. Love this video!
I love Emmy, she describes food like no other.
OMG this is making me hungry!!! Chef is so cute!!!
Thanks for posting this on my birthday! This is my favorite dish of all time :)
Oh gosh Francis, anyway.....I wish my mom was as good chef as her. Everything seem to sparkle like magic.
OH YAY! I always wanted to try this recipe. Takoyaki has always looked so tasty, but I never knew where to find the circle pan. Thank you so much for the information, as well as this recipe!
