This was excellent! I have been preparing for a month stay in Paris(July) and have not come across anything like this. This was so detailed and very informative. You did a great job and I believe you have lessened the tremendous fear and anxiety this event can cause. I was very sick in Sitges, Spain with food poisoning that was very dramatic and life threatening. I was taken to a very small hospital a bit away that was not modern at all. I received great care there and at the dentist(broke a front tooth as I fainted) the next day. The total cost was 232 euro.

I’m so glad this was helpful for you. As you know, it can be very disorienting when you get sick in another country. But one of the good things is it’s not expensive and the care is good! I’m glad you ended up being okay in Spain, I’m sure that was terrifying.

Is there an equivalent to urgent care? How much would an ambulance be?

I have never heard of urgent care in france; we just have telemedicine doctors and you call them up through the computer or phone and they meet with you, send you prescriptions via email etc. I think the ambulance is free; I've never heard of anyone paying for an ambulance here.
